I'm a truck driver and just went back on the road. At home my beautiful better half and I live off grid in the woods on our property. I just wanted to say, in a time when our country is in turmoil and the internet is filled with horrible reminders of that, your video was a refreshing reminder of what we should be doing. I grew up living off the grid I guess most people called it being poor but I am a much better person because of those days, thank you ,your cabin looks great.

Ppl are so spoiled in this day, I had an outhouse, carried tons of water to wash clothes and take baths in a basin, no need to be dirty! Some of the best days of my life! Lots of experience in case we need to live like this again without all of the stress and anxiety!!

Since I was a little girl I've said I was born in the wrong time. I was obsessed with Little House on The Prairie. I owned the whole collection of the books. I always said I would live like that one day. Unfortunately life happened and I never got to live that dream. I will be 39 in August and have just thought that was a dream I would have to let go of. Forgot to mention the day u set it up, I Luv u put out a bird feeder & suit. I especially like u can c von inside cabin, I have both mine the same way in Wa states wet side. It's been 6 yrs & have 2-5 Downys, the smallest woody's in US & 2-6 Flickers, males known 4 the half of a red necklace found under their neck.
I luv that u do everything basic & build inexpensive, I totally believe in living & thriving on cash only.
U just said it, I'm on disability, do to lower back & find ways to do, buy & especially entertain myself & so happy & blessed. I found birds as 1 of my favorite, inexpensive hobbies & entertainment, everywhere I go & stay.
Thanks for bringing us all into your life & not allowing myself to feel old, just because I'm a "Birder" & enjoy watching & feeding them wherever I may be & using cash & not credit.

I’m not a camping staying in the the woods type of person, but I truly love watching you do your life authentically. I would be so freaked out in the woods surrounded by wildlife and the dark. All this...this was my childhood. Wood/coal stove for heating and cooking, outhouse, bathing in a pan of water, washing my hair by pouring water over my head. Actually spending time outdoors instead of in front of a TV or computer. What great memories! I do enjoy watching your videos.
Okay, 7am here, I feel like having steak for breakfast now. I love how you always have everything for a proper cup of coffee!

Brooke, you're a breath of fresh air! I love the way you finished the interior, and I watched you do it! On the bathing thing, when I'm camping in my 6x12 cargo trailer, I bought a kiddie swimming pool on Amazon. It's designed to fold up into a box about 8" square, maybe a little smaller. It's 32" around when set up, and about 4" tall. Literally, with 2 cups of water and a couple of hand towels you can take a complete bath and get clean. I just sit cross legged in the pool and bathe. In cold weather you will want to heat the interior of where you are first but that kind of goes without saying for bathing. REI sells waterless shampoo so you can totally do that and get your hair clean. I guess I'm an old hippie! I'm going to be 65 in July and have hair down to my shoulders. My wife likes it that way, and so do I! Been married 38 years now.
That’s a cosy little cabin you should try one of those wireless fans that go on top of Woodstove need no electricity will circulate your heat better...
Saw one of those fans on Fy Nyth. Worked great!

It would if you saw a real man grill it.
Knew of a couple who could only afford one home so they bought a cabin and rented an apartment in the city where they also work. They live in the city for 4 days a week and live at the cabin for 3 days (4hrs travel there and back) That’s how they make it work!
So they have two homes?

The only things left to add are a permanent outhouse with a little rocket stove heater and a bathouse/tub. :D I'd be good for life with a kindle and that... Okay, my dogs, cat, and beardie. Got to bring the dragon, he is a brat when I leave him for more than an hour.

This is just something to think about. What about a covered, L shaped, deck, with clear roofing, in some places, to allow light where you want it to be? Plus you would have space for wood storage right next to your door. I have plenty of time to think of ideas, as I am widowed, retired, and disabled, so I truly enjoy your videos and spunky spirit, young lady! The wife & I enjoyed your last 2 videos...We have a few things in common...We purchased landcin Texas in February 2019....No building livable on the property....2 yrs of hard work and sacrifice...we built a 600 sq ft cottage and brought in all utilities to it....just spent 8 days with the coldest degrees in Texas history...with no frozen pipes...biggest setback from the storm was a broken hinge on our screen door from me forcing it open when it was frozen shut...keep on keeping on...fyi...love the dog...we spent 8 days with 3 in our place...

It’s a adorable cabin. Battery banks are very helpful when living Off Grid. We power all lights in our cabin with usb lights.
