I paid to get my makeup done for a wedding and that’s exactly how my makeup looked dry and cakey. It was such a downer because it emphasized wrinkles and sagging I didn’t even know I had. Came home to wash my face 😢
Same😂 i dreamed of looking hollywood-like when let my make up do by a stylist but noooo, they are not all perfectionists…
literally! my stepmom and my dad got married october of 2023 and i was in the wedding so i got my makeup done professionally. i thought i was gonna look smooth and flawless but if i looked closer in the mirror it was so cakey!!
that’s why i have trust issues with makeup done by someone else cause ik what will suit my skin
n i am really afraid to apply compact on my wedding cause it makes me look dry n takes away all the glow 😢
this year i am going to marry n i’ll do my makeup by my self
That's a huge bummer! Sorry about that! ❤
✍️🏽Mademoiselle Dominique, you are one of the best influencers on RUclips because I always walkway with knowledge after watching you. Merci. ☺️🙏🏽

What is the name of the setting powder you use please?
It's her Dominique powder. From her own brand.
Powder name?
What powder did you use
Yesss
Un grande abbraccio dall'Italia 🇮🇹
Hi Friends setting powder alag se laina hota hai kia
Ya face powder hi hota hai
Koi bta do
Is this the same for baking powder
What setting spray?
I’d look dry n cakey if I did it the “right way” 😂 age n skin type plays a big role in how ppl can use powder it’s not just technique…I wish!
Also don’t go straight over concealer to bake you need to go over a light set under eye to bake
💓
What said should we get the setting powder
OK now i have to redo my makeup😂
Hydrating matte setting powder ? Is that the kind you have in the video? Is it your brand ?
thank you! just bought my first powder this really helped me out!😅🩷
You're beautiful. ❤
You never mention the brand of powder...thank you for such great tips
You can see in the video that it is Dominique cosmetics
She doesn't really need to post the exact powder, She was showing techniques, not brands. Just use your favorite loose powder. Powder is very individual, use what you already know you like, or research according to your budget, skin type, and personal needs and preferences ❤️🌲🪽
Where can I buy this tool you're using to apply the powder with? What is it called? It doesn't look like a beauty blender nor a sponge
Triangle puff it's called or pizza puff available on Amazon lots of brands carry it
Love it! We’re can I get that puff as well??
Wondering the same thing! Please share!
I think it’s from Amazon, I’ve got the exact same one.
❤❤❤❤❤
I do but when go out near sun my make up became powder my powder show cakey
I’ll never buy another setting spray again because I get fevers from it, setting powder is on my list and thank you for showing me how I don’t want to look cakey either 😂
There's gotta be a brand out there that works for you!
❤❤❤
I used to apply the whole face after makeup. Is it wrong? I mean loose powder is to make makeup last longer and flawless. Why most of the people only apply it under cheeks and under eyes? My makeup usually feels sticky due to the foundation, so i applied loose powder to make my face matte. Sorry, im still new in learning makeup for myself. Correct me 😢
They do that with light coloured powders to make their bright under concealer look even brighter.
If you're using a powder as your all over your face shade, you don't bake it, what you're doing is correct.
@@daisiesandpandas1218 Thank you for so much for the clarification! I appreciate it so much ❤️✨
❤❤
Pretty❤❤😊😊💞💞⚘⚘
😊
You look sort of like Sofia Carson, you're so pretty!
Losse powder name please 🥺
Dominique smooth and blur setting powder
Wow that's alot of powder, will go through very quickly.
Everyone’s face shape is different 🫢
I just started baking someone told me that you shouldn't do it every day is that true
There’s not really any harm that can happen by baking everyday, it won’t damage your skin or make your skin dry over time or anything
Most people just consider it as unnecessary for everyday makeup and only use that technique when doing full glam looks or for special occasions/days when you need your makeup to last an extra long time etc
Just do whatever you enjoy most, it washes off at the end of each day 😊
Is setting powder the same as translucent powder
Setting powder refers to any powder that is used to set makeup in place
Translucent powders are a type of setting powder that have no colour once applied to the skin
You can also get setting powders that are yellow (to camouflage redness or hide discolouration) or pink (to brighten the skin) etc
Edit: sorry Ive just noticed how long ago you left your comment so this reply is probably useless now 😅
@@vamvam7690Translucent setting powders are *supposed* to be colorless but it does tend to leave a somewhat light pallor on more olive/tan skin. That said I actually prefer using a translucent setting powder (that I apply over a foundation that’s just a *touch* darker than my golden olive skin tone) so it evens everything out. I feel like this technique gives my skin tone more dimension that way. But I do know some very dark skinned/black women that can’t use translucent powder at all bc it leaves a white chalky looking residue .
@@whitneyangelie3682 very true! Some people with dark skin definitely struggle to find translucent powders that work for them and don’t look chalky - despite the fact they are supposed to be colourless as you said
I’m on the other end of the spectrum where I’m so fair that I can’t really use any of the coloured setting powders because they actually look pink or yellow on my skin (rather than just having a brightening effect or whatever)
At least I have plenty of options available though whereas dark skinned people often don’t. Even the brown coloured setting powders that are specifically designed for dark skinned people often don’t cater for really dark skin
All of us have to use trial and error to find makeup products that work well for us but some people definitely have it easier than others
😮😮😮😮😮
okay, but what if i WANT to look like a powdered donut.. 🤨
what’s the thing that your using to apply the powder (i forgot)
triangle powder puff
I could NEVER hold my brush at the very end of it or I'd have a hot mess! Why it's done this way is beyond me!
You already have all you make up done why dont you show whe. You have nothing on it😅😅
Why would she put setting powder onto bare skin? It’s used to set makeup in place lol hence why she put it over the top of her completed face of makeup 😅
Tons of powder.. poor skin
