You’ve become my favorite beauty RUclipsr. I gave up trying after I couldn’t make my face look like theirs. I finally realized the whole FaceTune and filter problem, but then I didn’t have anywhere else to go. Your looks are so beautiful and can be worn anytime and you can make them as natural or bold as you want. You teach actual techniques that don’t involve me having to buy out Sephora’s tool or makeup section. So thank you ♥️
Thank you Rebecca, and you hit the nail on the head! Never compare yourself to what you see online, you be you! I'm here to teach and answer any of your questions. Thank you for your kind comment 😍💕
I'm a makeup artist with 30 years experience. I'm so impressed by your techniques. You bring an element of ease to the intimidating world of makeup. I have learned so much from you & you are a pleasure to watch. 😊
Smitha, no other make up artists ever understood the practical challenges as you do. I read someone commenting here they felt you are personally communicating with them I feel so, many feels so. Again no words to thank you for this tip. It’s Fantabulous.
At last!!! Its SO good to see and hear someone use PROPER eyeshadow base/primer instead of concealer! Almost every single tutorial or 'MUA' I see uses concealer as an eye base, which is the worst product to use, particularly as you say, on oily lids. Your content is GREAT! So educational but simple and easy to understand- congratulations!
Beautifully clear demonstration of exactly how to do this. I prefer it when you finish up with a shot of your full face and not just the eye. The close up of the eye is essential for the demonstration, but the full face gives context and a better idea of the colours and style. Just my opinion.
Smitha, I have learned so much from you! I'm in my mid 50s and had almost stopped wearing eyeshadow because my hoods are getting lower and more prominent and my eyes are looking very uneven in height and shape. I've picked up quite a few tips from your videos and now I feel more confident adding a bit of contouring to help my eyes look more open, even, and lifted. Thank you! Happy New Year!
This comment made me smile so bright! I’m so happy that you found a way to feel more comfortable with your eyes even though hooded eyes can get really frustrating
Thank you for saying what should be used for oily eyelids. Eyeshadow primer vs concealer. I see so many use concealer. I now know I should use the primer
You have single handedly revolutionized the way I use eyeshadow! I often didn't use it because I found it hard to do with my heavy hooded eyes, so I would just do mascara and a highlight and call it a day. Now I can try so many easy fun styles because of your concise and informative videos! I must add that using a nail art brush to line your eyes is pure genius and so affordable! Thank-you so much for every video!
I honestly don't know what I would have done if I didn't discover your channel. Where all other beauty creators have FAILED to give adequate, concise and effective instruction, you have succeeded, and then some. You are a life saver. You understand what the average girl/woman struggles with in her makeup application, and you address those issues in a way that is easy to understand, easy to recreate, and always effortlessly stunning. Your channel is a gold mine of great advice, and no other beauty channel has done that for me. *NONE.* (And I can tell from the other comments that I'm not alone in this!) I don't even watch other channels for instruction anymore, only for product reviews. When it comes to instruction, I already know that no one else is going to do a better job than you do. Thank you so much for what you do.♥️
I have been applying eyeshadow little by little for about 4 years now because it’s the only way I can achieve the look I want but of course other beauty RUclipsrs have said no that’s wrong. Thank you for the validation Smitha. I know there’s no right or wrong way to put on eyeshadow but that’s what I appreciate about your methods. Your not telling people "this is the true way to do this method. Your wrong in doing it any other way." You give people options. I think this is exactly why your one of the top beauty RUclipsrs.
It makes so much sense to cleanse the eyelid to remove oils, just like using nail polish remover to clean nails before the base coat. Thanks for the great tip!
I really wanted to say THANK YOU: I've always watched so many makeup artists/influencers using the concealer as a primer and I did not understand why my results were so poor. Your tips are just amazing and totally lifesaver! 💜

I don't think people realize that concealers do have oil on them. In fact, I think I found your channel exactly from a video comparing oil content of different concealer brands on an oil absorption paper, I think. Beautiful video! I just enjoy watching your videos as relaxation!
Speaking of Wet'n'Wild, their eyeshadow primer Photofocus is THE BEST product I've ever tried. My eyelid is so greasy it can only keep my make-up unsmugded within ONE hour. And with Photofocus it stays for 9-12 hours which is legit a record

Then the endles blending with holding the brush somewhere in its half, patting the shimmers, swiping off excess mascara, applying it while covering the eyelid. When you get older, you can gently pull the brow up to avoid dragging the skin. Et voilà 👁️

@@SmithaDepak thank you for highlighting my comment darling, I also love how you explained why you use concealer as eyeshadow primer because your lids aren't oily that is a very important note to make, just like the rest of our skin we have different skin types 🥰💕

Thank you, very helpful for older women who's not sure how to use all the colors on pallet👍. Have 9 colors on each color pop shadow. Beautiful eyes on the video.
Thank you for this. I am going to try this next time I do my eyeshadow as I always end up with patchy eyeshadow and still have so much to learn with makeup. I do not think I have oily lids but still have this problem. I normally moisturise first then do concealer then a base eyeshadow then my main eyeshadow. Its simple but I will give this a go and see if it makes any difference.

Its simple but I will give this a go and see if it makes any difference.
the concealer tip is life changing. thank you🙏
Love the ease in which you do your makeup and your content is very relevant to many of us. Thanks for all you do!!
Omg I’ve been watching for years and I finally have the same palette! So excited!❤
I'm crying right now, I'm so happy😅 i thought some of my eyeshadow palettes were going off😂 thankyou Smitha,🥰 i love you for this🥰 i actually tried asking a YT, just the other day, who I've also followed for a few years but they ignore my questions now & only like my compliments🙄 but you just answered my questions in a whole video💜💜💜💜💜, i may have to re shuffle who i follow😅 its sad watching people you once loved on YT go from humble respectful people to quite the opposite, you however never change, you have the most beautiful humble personality & the calmest way of explaining things without being overbearing or intimidating, i look forward to watching many more videos from you, stay beautiful & stay safe💜💜💜
sis i like your makeup and your makeup skills kill me 💘
😍💕
I am so glad I saw this video. I used to use corrector as my primer and it always messed up because of the oil. I'll try to get the recomended products here. Thank you 💛
Thank you so much smiths for the video. I wanted to say that thank you very much because you make me feel love towards my south Asian features
Thank you Smitha! You really solve problems. I love your videos and have learned so much from them.
This 50 something year old is learning new tricks. I like that you explain why you do things a certain way. It’s helpful. Thank you so much, Smitha! 😁
Beautiful!! An artist with whom commoners can connect ❤️❤️❤️
Beautiful, also you can curl your lashes again after you apply mascara, comb it out again for even thicker eye lashes. Thank you for the video.
Smitha, because we wear masks so often, eye makeup and tutorials have been valuable. TY for these tutorials. I am a hospital provider, and I feel, when I have soft eye makeup on, the patients will not find me so sterile and cold when I care for them.
I’ve loved your videos for years!!! Your voice is so soothing 💜
