Warning: Important Health and Safety Notice:
Although I often talk about health and safety in my videos, please make sure you do your own research and take the relevant precautions to ensure that you are protecting your health. I am not responsible for anyone using resin and not taking the correct safety precautions. Resin is an industrial chemical and as such should always be treated with respect and the manufacturers safety advice taken. Here is a video I have made on how I keep myself safe: • Stop Making Yourself I...
Wow... Those are SSSSOOO pretty. I love the waves!

It Really DOES look like surf !!
Adding this before watching the video. It's crazy, i was just at dollar tree the other day (for anyone that may not have a dollar tree in their area, it's a store that sells everything for $1USD or less) and saw a bag of shells like these and was like, hmm, good to know cuz I bet i could pour resin in them and make something pretty! I'm new to resin just this past week and having been watching your videos for a couple weeks I'm starting to see the resin potential in things that aren't really meant for resin. I've been ill and it's affected my creativity, but your channel (along with a few others) is helping me get my crafting mojo back! Thank you for all you teach us! Love the experiments!! I plan on trying to add activated charcoal to a pour just for the heck of it to see what happens!
Just beautiful!!! I love anything with a beach / ocean theme. 💙 I have hundreds if not thousands of shells at home have been thinking about doing just that with them. I saw a trick recently to get the wavy effect they used plastic wrap placed crumpled here and there after resin was cured like you know plastic comes off very easily. I'm a big fan of yours Steve love watching you create, so much I've been sitting watching your videos for oh about 5 hrs straight it's 3 am 😴🥱💜 hugs from Quebec Canada good night and thank you yet again for a great video
How are you feeling? Hope the wrist is doing better. God bless you and your furbabies
Awesome, I have been working with shells recently, you have probably seen some of my pics or shorts, I have a good one coming soon, would you be up for a collab at some point Steve? 😊
I for sure would watch it! Love your videos too!!😁
@@lorettaslockbower5482 thanks Loretta 😊 🙏
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts Awesome! Drop me an email bud, would love to work on something brand new! 😊😊😊
You can also use a straw instead of the heat gun for the smaller beachy waves. That way the pressure from the straw isn't as hard as the heat gun and you won't have the waves going under the water and they'll stay on top.
That’s a very good tip
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts ahh, right. Yes, safety first, specially if you're allergic. You could also try using canned air. Though your way does produce great pieces of art. But for those not allergic, trying a straw or canned air can turn out some cool results too.
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts i love that you don't let the allergy stop you from doing something you love! I've been very ill and trying to get to the bottom of it and it's had me so discouraged for so long, but you are an inspiration to at least try and do something i love through it all!! I bought resin and came across your videos before doing any and decided to get a respirator at your suggestion because I'm sick enough, i don't need to add to my health issues! Lbvs i really appreciate your videos!
Great tip for small pieces. Thanks
Love these ❤️
I have very little shells and about the same size as you a little bigger ones. So I could use them for this too. I don't have real pearls, but I have old beads that resemble pearls so I can use them. Great ideas and I've tried to do them and didn't like how they turned out. THANKS!!
They are brilliant!!!
Love these! They are very pretty!
Love it beautiful pieces
I like them all, and prefer the ones with the shells showing on top of the surface of the water. I think the pearl would have looked better in a clear water, or not covered in the blue. Maybe putting down a layer of blue/green, letting it partially set then adding the pearl and putting clear on top would be a good way to show the pearl and still have the deep blue water
I’m just starting this project
Love ❤️ these!
Brilliant again xx
You do make me laugh. Love your videos 😄
Beautiful 🤩
Lacy waves can’t be done in deeper resin, as you found out. Best to do the top coat for waves. These turned out cute, I actually just got done making the pours in my shells, and now I have to do the top coat.
They look good 😊
Love these!!!
Looks great.
I love the shell idea they looked really cute 🥰 and thanks for showing the use of the gel, I’ve seen it before but you just do things in a way we can all see clearly that’s what I love about your channel
Pretty. Interesting with the gel stuff too, gives a great effect thanks x
Nice! I just recently found some shells that my mom had stored away long ago. Now I know what to do with some of them!
Awesome!
These are gorgeous! A model maker I watch makes waves by blowing mod podge around on the surface with a heat gun, then I think he adds paint after it dries. Don’t know how well it would work on this scale but might be an idea to experiment with.
Hi Steve! Would you ever consider selling your resin pieces on your website? Thank you for all your videos ❤️
Cool “Dibby dab” 😎
These are cool! Thanks Steve for sharing!!
I'm in a beachy wave groove right now. I want to put beach related findings from a recent trip in a shadow box but am going to try to resin the inside of the box as a beach with waves and frothy cells. It is made of fiber board. (the panel comes out.) Do I need to prep the board first with something or can I go straight ahead and apply the resin? Thanks for your great videos. Had a good chuckle with that domino box you did.
Next time that you work with that gel stuff and you're doing like waves and you have objects in the water you know what you could do put it just around the object you know like out around it and then do some like out in the beginning of the water it'll make like the ripples are coming out away from the object that you have in the resin to make it look like it dropped in the water almost or like the water is beating up against it and coming away from it I'm not a great painter but I'm an okay painter and I just learned about this stuff from another person that uses it for their resin and I almost grabbed some but they wanted almost $30 for it at hobby Lobby which is a craft only store there's another one called Jo-Ann's and Michaels but those two tend to be a little bit more expensive than hobby Lobby so I thought about checking it out on Amazon because I figured I could probably get a smaller jar of it because all they have are bigger jars in store
I have a question about mica powder can you combine it with a bit of water to color a mold? Instead of just using the mica powder alone on a brush?
@@SteveMcDonaldArtsandCrafts thank you soo much I recently joined your channel and I have learned a lot from you! 🙂
