The Trail Cat here was ahead of its time. A production Trail Cat didn't come outuntil1979 or 1980 as a 340 Oil Injected with IFS.

what the hell are you talking about???...the man here just got done with show and tell here of the 1975 Trail Cat . And if there were 200 plus built I would consider that a production model....Pay attention!

@@bultacowally You are right, my Dad was a Cat dealer from 1968 to 1981. The Trail Cat shown here a 1975 was still a Prototype in the works. In 1979 Arctic Cat released the Trail Cat. And it looked nothing like this one shown. You do a little research yourself. You might be surprised what you find. Also to add, each Cat Dealer received only 2 Trailcats in the Fall of 1979. Even though they were NOT a Hot item as anticipated (due to only being 340cc) in the First year. Cat built 7,600 Trail Cats for 1980.

Somewheres I got a copy of a letter on the 75 TC. They built just enough to satisfy the demand for an ice fishing sled with a simple four stroke single. Cat used to sell Panthers and Lynx with Kohler four stroke singles up to about 1973. Mostly for simple work or ice fishing type machines. The letter explains this sled with the ten hp Briggs was a pilot build to see if there was a market for an ice fishing or simple trail sled for 1975.
