- 1983 Yamaha Snowmobile lineup-the Warren Miller production! There are two videos of the '83 lineup; this is the best. Enjoy the the SRV and VMax playing in the deep powder! You even can see the '84 Phazer in the scenes; perhaps originally planned for '83??

What great commercial. My favorite yamaha snowmobile of all time .The 250 Bravo and of course the Phazer.
They just needed Larry flying through on one of his enticers.
I was thinkin of that guy the entire video lol.
John Gagnon larry enticer. He knows how to send it !!!! 🤣
Could you just imagine. Larry’s dad in the commercial, mullet and Canadian tuxedo flappin in the wind, a preview of the future that lies ahead.
Hell yeah
This comment made my day
never delete this! this is great peace of snowmobile history!! :)
чё?? ты чё нерусский?
I still have a old bravo
I know how cool is this
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account?
I stupidly forgot the login password. I would love any tips you can give me
@Joel Ernesto Instablaster ;)
I remember when My DAD came home with the 1980 srv 540 it was the Best looking sled you could buy...they had a ad in the paper and it had a fighter jet behind it and it was way ahead of it's time....
Been watching this video several times each winter
Finally I have an ET 340T !! Gonna get out and live the dream, just like I drove snowmobiles when I was younger :)
Wow, takes me back to being a teenager in the early 80's! Love the look of the VMax. Had a futuristic death star look..hahaha! This is how commercials and selling products used to be...great times and memories for sure..and affordable I might add.
I had a white 300 Enticer. I road that thing like I stole it. No one could keep up with me in the tight twisties in NW Wisconsin. That was when trails were a sled in width.
The SRV was the best looking sled back in the early 80s.It was way ahead of its time in looks.
Thats for sure. They could sell a snowmobile that looks like that today and people would still buy it.
The vmax is pretty cool too.
@@stevenvanheel3932 I had a 83 V-MAX, it was and still is the best looking sled I ever owned, wish I still did, should not have sold it
@@rodirby5952 I still have the SRV back home in the store, waiting for me to come back and ride it. If i'd have stayed home in Canada, I'd have bought a whole fleet of Yamaha's. I wanted the Vmax 540 and the SRX of the same shape, the Venture 2-up sled, and I wanted to modify my old GS-250 into a slide suspension. Never got to do it... yet. :)
I have the SRV 540 from 89. Beautiful machine. Haven't ridden it in years. Looking forward to getting home soon in the winter for a ride. :)
1962: 900lbs, 5hp almost 10mph.
2020: 400lbs, 165hp, 100mph.
The Bravo hasnt changed, its still mint af.
I have one and the only issue ive ever had is the handle bars bending. Cant wait to get it fixed and go play in some powder
@@smidgeelloangelo7140 last winter my buddy broke the stock handle bars on his bravo so we just put a pair off an old bmx bike on it and they work great
@@2friendstoking thats exactly what i did l. Too bad i sold the old bravo yesterday
These things never died! My dads 340 enticer was paid off in two months hitting coyotes and taking the pelts in. lol. Then fast forward ten years and I have the machine... still running like a top... i tortured that thing thinking I was Blair Morgan and it took all I threw at it. Won’t start. No prob. Little gas in the plugs and see ya. We did one thing with that sled. Hold it wide open everywhere. Odometer Gauge. lol. For what, it just kept wrapping the needle. Best machine I ever owned. And for a 340 they ripped. Everyone in our area either had a enticer or bravo or vmax when I was a kid. And when the 540!vmax came out well holy shit. Ahh the good old days. This soundtrack btw. lol. Yamahaaaaaa
I rode all of these sleds, good ol sleds 👍
Just gonna send it!
I am an avid snowmobiler and over the years I have owned a nice few Yamaha snowmobiles! The reliability of these old machines was fantastic. These Machines include numerous bravos, enticers,an ovation 340,xlv 540 I still to this day haul firewood with my 93 bravo trapper it is a machine that will never ever let you down! I really wish Yamaha made a competitive 2 stroke crossover sled because without a question I would own one! I now ride Polaris but await the day when Yamaha announces an twin cylinder two stroke with a 144" track. Thanks for this video it brought back a lot of memories 😊
I was always a Ski-do guy, but in the 90s in Alaska my riding buddy had a SRV, they're just like their motorcycles, extremely reliable.
Probably the best line up in history!! hope you guys get to experience Bravo and Enticer, its truly an amaziing thing!
I grew up ridding a 1980 340 enticer! Boy what a joy!
I had a 93 Srv. It was good except in deep snow as it plowed instead of getting on top. the Enticers were great and the 84 Phazer was top notch fun.
15:12 greatest slow mo and music sequence in historical records
That looks EXACTLY like the one I used to race around 15 years ago. Same tach, panels, the VP sticker on the hood and Boyessen on the fairing and the 2 velcro strips on the seat. Holy crap it was so much fun to race and sounds so good.
Holy cow! The memories. And the voice of skiing videographer Warren Miller at 6:10 talking about his Excel III!
At 2:14 you can see there is a silver Phazer in the lineup. That awesome model didn't come out til 1984 ( and then went on to dominate sales for years) It's so cool to see a prototype!
I loved my 1983 SRV. Very fast! Had the engine ported and polished! I hated to sell it. Moved from Alaska to Alabama. Can't use it there!
Thanks for that. Brings back some great memories. Vintage sleds FTW!
This is great! What a blast from the past!
I need those pop up headlights, those are beautiful
Bravos will never be beat the great quality back in those days still carry out in these days only if they still made the bravos
I have several Yamaha sleds they are so dependable. I have a 1988 Exciter 570 liquid, a Phazer II 488 fan, and a 440 ss
Thanks David. You just succeeded in making me feel old!
Had quite a few of the machines in this lineup..... legendary reliability
Even Yamaha needs a montage! Awesome vid!
They are very good riders
Got an 83' SS440 brand new in January 84'. It's looks and performance would still hold water in 2018!
Eventually ended up with an 87' V-Max just to see what the hype was all about. It was a good sled as long as it remained un-altered in any way. Clutching became an endless battle after I had to replace the wrecked Comet 102-C with a new Comet 108-C. I spent s small fortune in weights / springs and it got close at best. They're both gone now and I miss them both.
1:00 man i miss my 83 yamaha bravo shortrack, a couple of years ago i bought one and it a track problem... s 2 years ago i bought a 95 longtrack bravo, for some reason i missed the shortrack bravo it was special to me and man was it fast!! got it up to 85km thats faster then my longtrack! i still have the bonnet, to bad i really i really liked that little sled bravo is amazing sled...
Sled's A 83 bravo was the first sled I ever rode and it still runs great today, they are fun little sleds
Greatest thing ive ever seen!
Yamaha needs to bring back the Enticer name and get Larry Enticer for their ads. One of the best sleds of all time (same with the Bravo).
What an absolutely awesome video ( 09 nytro xtx)
Brings back great memories
I worked at a Yamaha Sled Dealer in 83. Each dealer was able to order 1 Phazer. It was a test run to see how they would run and sale. Yamaha had a bad apple in 1981 with the all new SRX 440. They did not want this to happen again. Yamaha should bring back the PZ with the 540 Fan, 136 inch track and air structs and rear shocks. It would sale!!
I had a 81 SRX, it was fast but ate clutch rollers, that Y they put Comet clutches on the 83s
Back in them good ol' days...
I need to get back to ‘83!!
Thanks you For this awsome video. Because of this exciting video. I bought a srv540 and loved it!!!!.
I had a 87 srv 540 back in the late 2000s. Crazy how much things have changed. Great sled though, good power and very reliable just no suspension compared to nowadays
I remember riding my old man's 440 exciter.. good power.. but them old sleds were not the best for deep snow.. the litte 250 sled kicked ass .get het up to almost 60 miles an hour.lol.. shit has changed ..
nothing like drinking wine on the trail
Yeah a good way to promote drinking and riding.
i love this it warms my heart
Ads of this time are perfect
Hard to believe they had the Phazer built and running in 1983. They must've started it in 1982. #future
It's like snowmobile porn.
These guys just sent it!
I sold my 340 exciter for this 250 enticer. Holy cow! What a rush of acceleration and responsiveness
i drove excell 111 83 and UNBELIEVABLE little machine!
I've owned a few Yamaha sleds, enticer 340 deluxe , srv 540 and a vmax 700. I liked the enticer and srv more than the vmax, that sled was fast on the lake and trails but sucked in the powder. The clutch exploded on it and tore up the sled pretty good. The other 2 just ran and ran. Never broke down with minimal maintenance.
Whenever people call the SRV a SR Vee, I direct them to this video. It was always a SR FIVE. The "new" chassis is called the SRV.
This is just awesome to watch
TSS was like a Polaris RMK rear now.. two shocks with Springs over the shocks.
Just needed more travel back then it was a super sled for sure.
My cousin still got a 83 bravo still got the same engine he bought a new one in the 90s he still got both and they both work great still
in the beginning it shows the phazer, in the reviews, no phazer...
Damn I live in Oklahoma! Wish I needed one of these!
Jeez these thing are ahead of their time
Almost caught up with us...
Back in the 70's and 80's My Dad Owned a Arctic Cat, Yamaha, John Deere, Kawasaki Snowmobile Dealership. When Cat Closed from '82- '84 All Cat Buyers Switched to Kawasaki and John Deere sleds. Yamaha sleds were not big sellers.
NOTICE...No snowmobiles were harmed In the filming of this commercial.
very nice I love old Yamaha"s I'm guessing the phazer was designed to arrive in 83 but they decided to wait a year after the srx 500 fiasco
rageridersrx Haha....the 82 SRX 500 is the stuff of legends.
Sorta had one once upon a time!
Kids these days have no idea what it’s like to bounce down a trail like that
I'm 41 & have never done that. Next winter I'm hopeful!
I sure do. I'm 16 and have had my 81 et 250 for 8 years now. Always been in the family. And I have some land boy.
You talk like these sleds are old. I'm 20 years old and I know what it's like to bounce down a trail on my 1971 ski whiz. That one's kinda old.
There still great machines to ride. Used cheap to buy..
Only the best of the best Yamaha
We still got a 300 enticer and that exact same colour and year ss440
Adrian Baker and Roy Morgan's "Voices in Harmony" (Bruton BRH 6) really shines here-especially "In Close Harmony" (2:53) and "Take A Train" (3:08).
And hey, isn't that L.A.'s own Mark Elliot narrating?
The bravo was a great sled, never got the attention it deserved cause for some reason they weren't liked as much as other sleds...maybe its because it replaced the 250 enticer which was a very loved sled and sadly it shortly got discountinued
DISLIKE DISLIKE my sister owns a 83 bravo
I think they accidentally included the phazer in the opening shots.
i own a 1983 srv, nice old snowmobile.
awesome
At one point, I think I've rode or owned all of these sleds
i had the 83 ss, wish i still had it, or another one.
If you want to hear a message form sled god just play the intro song at half speed
6:00 is that Warren Miller doing the voice over? (Warren Miller of ski fame)
Glory times
I had a Yamaha 433 and i miss it
This is a good commercial
Did he say that he bought his first enticer back in 1975?
So how many people have Been calling the sr5 an srv for their whole life !! 😂
Fantastico
7:15, who goes out and buys 4 snowmobiles, lol
Hey jack you gotta big family they cant share 1 sled lol
Oh lol I'm sorry I just watched the vidoe now I understand I'm sorry
The good old days
'rides like a dream" lol
Where was the Phazer? I had one back in the day in Colorado.
Now I'm in Vegas but the good stuff in Utah is only a few hours away. Yes, I'm thinking about it.
1984
Sr5? I don’t think anyone I grew up with knew that. We called them sr”v”. I didn’t know what they were talking about in the video until I saw the logo! Lol. I’ll be singing this Yamaha song for weeks...
The first SR5 the "V" was the roman number 5. A lot of people didn't know this and called it the SRV.
@@donaldveilleux3232 Right on!!
had a ss440,,,srv540,,ran great,,yamaha quality
My Enticer 300 never looked this good and Now I know why, it was always airborne from day one.....Stylish look with plenty of warmth riding clothes or 4 cups of wine to warm you up?😄
I have a 250 enticer and its amazing it will pull away from a 440 jag
yes, indeed. i love my 250 enticer its the best thing ever in the snowmobile history, it actually remindes me alot of the bravo
this was the year the bravo replaced the 250 enticer, even tho they were great sleds and very different. both were mechanicly identical. both had a single 250 engine, both were in size, both had the same skis and both had the same suspension. the 250 enticer was on the race side, while the bravo was more of an economical sled. even tho the 250 enticer was very awsome and more awsome then the bravo. the bravo was an improvement from the 250 enticer. the suspension was slighty changed and improved and the bravo was a little lighter then the 250 enticer and it came with a few other unique features like shown in the video and i think adjustible handbars was the best thing ever on a sled of there kind. both sleds are loved dearly but 250 enticer is my favourite
you just can't kill it! 250 enticer has a crazy tuff engine, im one of the few people who have a original 1977 still intact!
The bravo was less horse power then
The rest of them i hated mine. The srv
Was one of the best for a fan coold snowmobiles
3:17 weighing 910 pounds
Like every Ski-Doo still made today lol
Jason Delamarter lmao
I think he meant Kg?
dirtrider88 dumbass if it was kg it would be like 2000 pounds
It means 412 kg
A current average snowmobile weighs around 250 kg
wow
mad max of northern canada would be driving a longtrack bravo using bear fat for lube.
Look at that Yamaha enticer, to bad mine doesn't look that nice
lol i have a vintage 77 enticer 250 and yeah it's seen better days!
Me imaging Im on the enticer 300 going through that deep powder
Dang my dad has an srv but planning to sell it
Having second thoughts
Yamaha changed the snowmobile world do much when they came into the market.
I have one if these snowmobiles
What made the enticer 250s faster than the bravos
Ratio
The Enticer 250 has a different engine that produces more hp than the Bravo, more power = more speed, usually.
