fer That's sooo true! I'm not quite sure if it was in a Vlive or an episode of Kang On Box where he mentioned that he had quite a lot of negative thoughts pre-debut. Seeing the recording scene Codename is ATEEZ after that made me sooo sad I actually shed a tear or two for him. But now his vocals are hella competitive and stable onstage. He's come sooo far, indeed.

It’s sad how barely anyone talks about san’s vocals. His vocals should also be appreciated more. Even jongho said in his vlive once that in the vocal line next to him is always sannie hyung. San didn’t only improve in dancing but singing as well, in episodes of hanon where they sang live, he really showed his stable vocals in utopia and also the pretty high note in star1117. It’s just sad that whenever someone praises san either for his vocals or dance skills, some atiny's just tries to drag him down, saying that he doesn’t belong to the dance line or that he isn’t the lead vocal…It’s not the title that always matter okay…(if he‘s good he's good no matter with or without that title) If you’re really an atiny who loves eight of them equally then you shouldn’t deny San’s ability and improvement in singing. I just hope that more people can see his vocal is as strong as his dance and performance and appreciate him more.

I agree with your points on seonghwa and Yunho. Seonghwa has improved SO much, and when I was first getting into ateez, I heard the different sides of Yunho's voice and thought he was different people. Also I think he has the least experienced voice of the top 4 because he was originally a rapper lol.

San has always been my favourite vocalist because of his vocal tone. My biases usually are the ones with the interesting vocal tones and the amazing vocal abilities they have and that is what happened with him. 🥺 One thing I would like to point out is Wooyoung doing to the chorus for MIST. It’s potentially my favourite thing ever.
I am surprised that Yunho ranked so high. Even if i like his voice so much I kinda got used to people underrating his vocals. He is one of my fav vocalists in 4th gen and i am thankful he got appreciated. Hongjoong surprises me as well. This man can do everything from singing to producing. Jongho is one of the best vocalists in his generation and there's no way to disagree with that. I am stil surprised how he can be so young and talented like.... wow. And also thanks for appreciating ALL OF THEM actually. I like the way you're explaining things and even if i'm not a native speaker i feel comfortable watching your videos.
I think Yeosang is actually one of the better vocalists in Ateez but he doesn't get any lines because of his voice type. He strains less than the other members but he doesn't really have any skills when it comes to his mixed voice or falsetto but I do believe that he can improve this drastically with some more practice
Yunho is so underrated.He gets a few lines but he has a powerful voice. In Answer song he has many lines and I am thankful for it.He is the best dancer but I can't see him in the center position while dancing that kind of things make me upset.He is a visual for me and he is so cute.Everything about this guy is awesome.💜

Thank you for this video 🙏🏻 San is the lead vocalist of the group. And even members said he’s the one who can use many different voice colors in the group. San has a lot of high notes after Jongho, and he’s getting the hardest parts in the songs usually. He also gets hardest dance parts along with his sing so it’s amazing how he sings live. San & Jongho are the ones who sing live the most so I’m amazed by his powerful vocals.
Finally someone who puts Yunho above Seonghwa. He is seriously underrated, especially his vocals. I hope he gets some serious redemption one day where everyone will talk about how good of a vocalist Yunho actually is, he deserves way better from the fans

I would say that San is technically a better singer than Yunho but I honestly just enjoy listening to Yunho more because I feel like his voice is more versatile and I prefer voices that can be low and high but most of the time I hear San’s high and light voice.
I can listen San’s heavenly voice forever! His vocal skills are top level and it drives me crazy seeing that his singing is underrated. His voice is so pure, so perfect. 🥺💜

AmbersMcCarthy they have a comeback on May 18 but it’s obvious Kai and Taehyun are in the top 2 being the power house vocalist. Wish Yeonjun being the lead vocalist that is the main rapper of the group bec he doesn’t have underrated vocals. Soobin and Beomgyu don’t bring anything special

San is so good with chest middle voice although is so infrequent in their discography. A perfect example is the end of Dancing Like Butterfly Wings. There is a live stage in special btw all the rest they've done of that song where he sings even louder and the mic is a little bit saturated 😳 (My English is so bad srry ajshsh)
I love that Hongjoong was so high on the list, tho i personally prefer Yeosangs low voice, Hongjoong defs has a really interesting voice. It can be light but also kind of edgy (nasty as you say) and rocker-ish. I think Yunhos vocals are slightly stronger than San's. He's super versatile and has more body/support in his voice - San can get really nasal (still my bias tho😄). San's chest voice/belt in Utopia tho 👀👀👀 PHEW

Other thoughts; It feels illegal to talk about Seonghwa's voice and not mention that Utopia note. Every time we get clips of him doing that live I'm floored. I'm going to go check after this, but I'd love to see an updated version from you. There's been so much improvement across the board, but especially Mingi and Yeosang. Mingi clearly took part of his hiatus to work really hard on his vocals, i'm so impressed by him these days, like coming back and then right after doing Deja Vu???? Boy- And Yeosang too, he's talked about how he's been working with Hongjoong to find a vocal style that suits him better, and it's honestly working so well for him, as well as his overall confidence growing more, it's had a big impact on his voice. And I'd love to see you mention Wooyoung on Mist. Seonghwa's biggest issue has been self confidence, and as that's grown so has his stability with his voice. He's been officially added to rap line (after being the main one other than Hongjoong to cover Mingi's parts while he was out), but he doesn't ever get to do it much because they need his versatility in the songs so much. I swear there's not much he and Yunho can't sing, the two of them are constantly all over the place in the back of the tracks. Speaking of Yunho- getting to his part of the video just thinking "ok there better be that Light fancam I s2g" and just :D when it came up! His range is also just huge, it's just a tad bit lower than some of the nearly countertenors of the group, and you can see it frustrates his competitive ass at times. I'm a little biased because Ateez are my ult group, but as you stated in the video, with a little more training and practice, all of them can go to amazing places with their voices. In my opinion Ateez has a group of very diverse voices, and that's what makes them stand out to me. I'm sure that in the future they'll be even better. I think ATEEZ is overall a great performer but has a room to grow as vocalists. I really look forward to how they'd improve! But JONGHO...OH JONGHO BABY. He impresses me every time and I see he holds a pride in singing live and I just truly admire his commitment.

You did soooo much research for this! Thank youuuuu! This vocal ranking is perfect and anyone who disagrees needs to watch the whole video. I was especially nervous about Yunho because his vocal range is amazing but no one ever talks about it! I especially love his deeper singing voice but he can sing higher notes very well, too. A little sad you didn't include clips of his chanting tribal-esque singing. Seonghwa can sound pretty similar to him when they both sing in a lower range, but the fact that he ranked 4th makes me so proud. Of course Jongho's at the top. Our apple breaker is straining his muscles while singing, but definitely not his voice. For deep-voiced rappers who can sing, I tell you! You will not regret ONF and ONEUS! Everyone in ONF can sing. The rapper covered for the main vocal when the vocal was injured in ONEUS.

I'm not too sure about Vlive since I don't visit them regularly there due to the lack of subs, but I think there are enough since they usually (if not always) sing live on their stages. They've also been to a couple radio and variety shows. Some of them have been on contestants on Mix9 and Produce 101, too. Their behind the scenes will help you with Seoho since he's _always_ singing. If you do decide to do a video on them, that would be soooo awesome! I hope you do find enough clips.

Would you please consider looking into Nct Dream and G-idle? For Nct dream, there are alot of debates regarding who the best vocalist is between 3 particular members. These 3 members are in a weird spot where they're all unofficial main vocals. G-idle are a vocal-centric group, where 5/6 of the members are singers, with their rapper still serving great vocals from time to time. They have 2 main vocalists and overall equally good lead vocalists
I agree with you on pretty much all of them but watching your videos, I'm definitely noticing and learning about things I didn't know before which is really exciting. I also have some suggestions for groups to look into: WayV (they are a NCT subunit), The Rose (they are a band), TXT and SHINee. There's a lot more but these are the groups I'd be most interested to see ranked because I always have kind of my own ranking but that's mainly based on my personal opinion and preference. So a more objective ranking would be great to see.
With Wooyoung, you said that he doesn't have much power in his voice and yeah it's like that most of the time, but I think he can have power, he sings the chorus line in Mist(I didn't see it in the summary clips) so I'd probably put him a little higher I guess, but I agree him and Hongjoong are pretty interchangeable... I respect your ranking, you are the expert

But if Jongho is the main vocalist and San is the lead, it's because of something and people still don't understand that. What I want to get to is that San's voice is beautiful and can improve like those of others, he enter the company thanks to his beautiful voice for nothing else, some people are offended because he is the lead vocalist and seonghwan and yunho are not , leave all that behind everyone's voice is beautiful simply enjoy and that's all

i agree with you. San wasn't originally good at dancing Mingi and Yunho helped him out a lot, he got in with his singing. Seonghwa got in with rap, and Yunho probably got in with his dance more than his vocals. It's just that they've improved so much that they're getting loads of lines now. All the members are very hardworking cuz we can all see the improvement. We went from half the group always singing live to the whole group singing live all the time.

It’s sad how barely anyone talks about san’s vocals. His vocals should also be appreciated more. Even jongho said in his vlive once that in the vocal line next to him is always sannie hyung. San didn’t only improve in dancing but singing as well, in episodes of hanon where they sang live, he really showed his stable vocals in utopia and also the pretty high note in star1117. It’s just sad that whenever someone praises san either for his vocals or dance skills, some atiny's just tries to drag him down, saying that he doesn’t belong to the dance line or that he isn’t the lead vocal…It’s not the title that always matter okay…(if he‘s good he's good no matter with or without that title) If you’re really an atiny who loves eight of them equally then you shouldn’t deny San’s ability and improvement in singing. I just hope that more people can see his vocal is as strong as his dance and performance and appreciate him more.
san is my bias but i was so surprised to see him ranked as second best, i feel people focus on him being such a good dancer and performer that they don’t focus on his voice.

I agree with your points on seonghwa and Yunho. Seonghwa has improved SO much, and when I was first getting into ateez, I heard the different sides of Yunho's voice and thought he was different people. Also I think he has the least experienced voice of the top 4 because he was originally a rapper lol.
yeosang is actually a pretty good vocalist but he wasn't very confident and he doesn't really get the lines to prove himself :')
But now he says he's more confident and he will try to get more lines

Fun fact: Seonghwa actually auditioned as a rapper, while Hongjoong got accepted due to his vocals. This just shows how much people can improve when they have the will to do so, receive proper training and work hard to achieve their dreams and become the best version of themselves. 🥰❤️✨

San has always been my favourite vocalist because of his vocal tone. My biases usually are the ones with the interesting vocal tones and the amazing vocal abilities they have and that is what happened with him. 🥺 One thing I would like to point out is Wooyoung doing to the chorus for MIST. It’s potentially my favourite thing ever.

I think Yeosang is actually one of the better vocalists in Ateez but he doesn't get any lines because of his voice type. He strains less than the other members but he doesn't really have any skills when it comes to his mixed voice or falsetto but I do believe that he can improve this drastically with some more practice

Thank you for this video 🙏🏻 San is the lead vocalist of the group. And even members said he’s the one who can use many different voice colors in the group. San has a lot of high notes after Jongho, and he’s getting the hardest parts in the songs usually. He also gets hardest dance parts along with his sing so it’s amazing how he sings live. San & Jongho are the ones who sing live the most so I’m amazed by his powerful vocals.

I would say that San is technically a better singer than Yunho but I honestly just enjoy listening to Yunho more because I feel like his voice is more versatile and I prefer voices that can be low and high but most of the time I hear San’s high and light voice.
I can listen San’s heavenly voice forever! His vocal skills are top level and it drives me crazy seeing that his singing is underrated.

San is so good with chest middle voice although is so infrequent in their discography. A perfect example is the end of Dancing Like Butterfly Wings. There is a live stage in special btw all the rest they've done of that song where he sings even louder and the mic is a little bit saturated 😳 (My English is so bad srry ajshsh)
I love that Hongjoong was so high on the list, tho i personally prefer Yeosangs low voice, Hongjoong defs has a really interesting voice. It can be light but also kind of edgy (nasty as you say) and rocker-ish. I think Yunhos vocals are slightly stronger than San's. He's super versatile and has more body/support in his voice - San can get really nasal (still my bias tho😄). San's chest voice/belt in Utopia tho 👀👀👀 PHEW

I always get excited every time you post...slowly getting into ateez so this was great fun to watch. I'd heard someone talking about Jongho having a lot of jaw tension, didn't know if this was really the case but he seems to be doing fine anyway.
His jaw does get a little too engaged sometimes. But its doesn't seem to affect him too badly.

Other thoughts;
It feels illegal to talk about Seonghwa's voice and not mention that Utopia note. Every time we get clips of him doing that live I'm floored.
I'm going to go check after this, but I'd love to see an updated version from you. There's been so much improvement across the board, but especially Mingi and Yeosang. Mingi clearly took part of his hiatus to work really hard on his vocals, i'm so impressed by him these days, like coming back and then right after doing Deja Vu???? Boy- And Yeosang too, he's talked about how he's been working with Hongjoong to find a vocal style that suits him better, and it's honestly working so well for him, as well as his overall confidence growing more, it's had a big impact on his voice. And I'd love to see you mention Wooyoung on Mist.
Seonghwa's biggest issue has been self confidence, and as that's grown so has his stability with his voice. He's been officially added to rap line (after being the main one other than Hongjoong to cover Mingi's parts while he was out), but he doesn't ever get to do it much because they need his versatility in the songs so much. I swear there's not much he and Yunho can't sing, the two of them are constantly all over the place in the back of the tracks.
Speaking of Yunho- getting to his part of the video just thinking "ok there better be that Light fancam I s2g" and just :D when it came up! His range is also just huge, it's just a tad bit lower than some of the nearly countertenors of the group, and you can see it frustrates his competitive ass at times. His voice is just so soothing and warm

Jongho is my 3rd fav vocalist of all time... not just in Kpop but in general.... I picked Jongho as my bias after seeing their profiles (before listening to any song of ATEEZ back during day my name era) after hearing his vocals I said he’s on my vocal list.... I'm a little biased because Ateez are my ult group, but as you stated in the video, with a little more training and practice, all of them can go to amazing places with their voices. In my opinion Ateez has a group of very diverse voices, and that's what makes them stand out to me. I'm sure that in the future they'll be even better. You did soooo much research for this! Thank youuuuu! This vocal ranking is perfect and anyone who disagrees needs to watch the whole video. I was especially nervous about Yunho because his vocal range is amazing but no one ever talks about it! I especially love his deeper singing voice but he can sing higher notes very well, too. A little sad you didn't include clips of his chanting tribal-esque singing. Seonghwa can sound pretty similar to him when they both sing in a lower range, but the fact that he ranked 4th makes me so proud. Of course Jongho's at the top. Our apple breaker is straining his muscles while singing, but definitely not his voice.
For deep-voiced rappers who can sing, I tell you! You will not regret ONF and ONEUS! Everyone in ONF can sing. The rapper covered for the main vocal when the vocal was injured in ONEUS.

I'm not too sure about Vlive since I don't visit them regularly there due to the lack of subs, but I think there are enough since they usually (if not always) sing live on their stages. They've also been to a couple radio and variety shows. Some of them have been on contestants on Mix9 and Produce 101, too. Their behind the scenes will help you with Seoho since he's _always_ singing. If you do decide to do a video on them, that would be soooo awesome! I hope you do find enough clips.

Would you please consider looking into Nct Dream and G-idle? For Nct dream, there are alot of debates regarding who the best vocalist is between 3 particular members. These 3 members are in a weird spot where they're all unofficial main vocals. G-idle are a vocal-centric group, where 5/6 of the members are singers, with their rapper still serving great vocals from time to time. They have 2 main vocalists and overall equally good lead vocalists
I love Jongho’s voice!!! Also, if you’re able to, I recommend looking at ACE! The entire group are good/great vocalists and stable kings!!!

I agree with you on pretty much all of them but watching your videos, I'm definitely noticing and learning about things I didn't know before which is really exciting. I also have some suggestions for groups to look into: WayV (they are a NCT subunit), The Rose (they are a band), TXT and SHINee. There's a lot more but these are the groups I'd be most interested to see ranked because I always have kind of my own ranking but that's mainly based on my personal opinion and preference. So a more objective ranking would be great to see.
With Wooyoung, you said that he doesn't have much power in his voice and yeah it's like that most of the time, but I think he can have power, he sings the chorus line in Mist(I didn't see it in the summary clips) so I'd probably put him a little higher I guess, but I agree him and Hongjoong are pretty interchangeable... i agree with you. San wasn't originally good at dancing Mingi and Yunho helped him out a lot, he got in with his singing. Seonghwa got in with rap, and Yunho probably got in with his dance more than his vocals. It's just that they've improved so much that they're getting loads of lines now. All the members are very hardworking cuz we can all see the improvement. We went from half the group always singing live to the whole group singing live all the time.
Does San have support in his vocal?
whenever San gets praised for his dancing they’ll discredit him and say he isn’t main dancer but whenever someone also praises Sans vocals they’ll attack his initial position in the group and he’ll also get hate for being lead vocalist and say that yunho and seonghwa deserve the lead vocal position more even though all of Ateez have said he’s second best after jongho and jongho wants to do a duet with him because he’s always loved his voice since predebut, he really never gets a break it’s so annoying how much he gets discredited especially recently…

Watching this again in 2022 and I wonder if you could make an updated review of their voices. I still think the ranking will be pretty much the same. I'm just excited about how you will react to their improvement 2 years after.
