      Hahaha! I'm considering buying one near me. It's a 2010 with the cage windows, plastic back seat and the divider between the front and back seats. I don't have a mother in law but I could stick my drunk friends in the back.

    Hey Chris,
    this is Frank from Germany again....: First of all many thanks for your trips to the auction-lots and the inspection of the vehicles. I have on the gov Deals page on hint of you also many many vehicles checked. As you have noted at the end of your video, it must be a very good vehicle to export because the vehicle costs when it is finally at my garage the 6-10 times purchase price we have paid in the US..... so we can´t not put any scrap in the container, the price is the same for a very good one when you sum up everything.
    As you already know personally it has happened a chance direct in Germany.......now that all of my friends here in Germany know that I'm looking for a P71, I got a call on the weekend that a friend of a friend knows someone who sells a P 71. Incredible ! There are only very few vehicles in Germany (approximately 100 crown vic police cars) of this type and I get the information that one is for sale. I'll make it short: it fitted perfectly, all decals on the vehicle, complete police equipment installed, very good condition, the vehicle came from California in 2014 and currently has 128,000 miles and 3,000 idle hours on the odometer. The car was never moved when it was raining last four years and has only burned 3,000 miles in the last 4 years. the price was exactly the same as I would have had to pay for the import incl tax, Transport and technical modification. I could not say no, I hope you are not angry, because I no longer need your help for searching . Thank you anyway and will send you an Introduction video as soon as I have the vehicle. Then you can possibly enter the info in one of your videos.
    Maybe someday I'll visit you in Delaware if you do not mind and then we can talk about our Crown Vis experiences over a few beers. What do you mean :-) ?

    Is that a Corvair Rampside behind you? Looking vairy nice. Good info on the auction sites. My very first car was a Gov't. service vehicle, a '71 Olive drab on Olive drab, four door Ford Maverick, w/ a straight six and auto trans. Great car that served me well through high school and a little more and I only paid $500, back in '77. My father knew folk from the local auto dealerships and we got to go to a big auction house in Los Angeles, CA. A very informative look at how auctions are run and the all of the "support" personnel it takes to keep things flowing smoothly.

      Your welcome, I was surprised also when I found that. But it makes sense, each city, town or other seller has their own way of doing things. I also found some would not provide service records until you bought the car and others would even email you the records before you bid on it.

  • @WJHandyDad

    my "favorite" is when my county sells abandoned inmate items... usually combs, brushes, nail clippers, and similar. All I can say is ewwwwwww! And like you said, bidding $5 on those items and then paying for a cashier's check to be overnighted, or wiring money, you are better off buying brand new at the local Wal Mart.

    • @hullinger
      @hullinger  6 лет назад +2

    I am a taxi driver of 20 years,,,, The Crown Vic Police Interceptor is the best car ever made,,,, they sold like hotcakes, rumor is the government made Ford stop making them to give other Auto Lines a chance as they were going down due to the sale of CVInterceptor sales by Ford,,, I don’t know if thats true but i could not understand why they stopped making them in either 2011 or 12..... I am thinking of buying one instead of buying a new car,,

      same with NJ. I would steer away from cars that were used exclusively in the coastal towns since salt air 24x7 will take a major toll on the body and frame. Those cars get driven though floods which are sea water!!

      There are a dozen or so Crown Vics listed in your area on Marketplace. There's a dealer I know in Gilchrist, OR that gets them in sometimes - interceptorking.com
