I’m here in Jacksonville NC and just won an auction for a 2011 crown Victoria that used to be a police vehicle. My bid was $2850. The buyers premium was $353.12 and it has 135k miles on it. It says it was serviced every 5k miles. The best part about it is that this vehicle was being sold by my county!! In this economy I’d say I got a pretty decent deal considering all these cars at dealerships that are being sold far above MSRP.
That's awesome! You are correct. They want way too much for new and used cars. Even if it only lasts a year, you still win. I'm sure it will go much longer. And it's a local vehicle as well. Congratulations
@ambraille3384 extremely happy. It's been over 1 year now and 14000 miles. Not a single issue. We put front brakes on and a new serpentine belt. We love it
Your intro is the exact reason why I’m looking on here. Cars are way too expensive. Hoping to find something decent gas mileage that’ll last me for work commutes.
Yep, could I go out and spend $65k on something? Sure.... I just don't see the need. This little escape now has over 3000 miles on it since I bought it. Absolutely perfect car. No need to go in debt. Try govdeals out. I guarantee you'll find a nice car/truck there. Just stay away from "seizure" vehicles mostly junk there. Thanks for watching!
Nice buy! I think my next daily will be a Ford Taurus police car. 3 reasons. 1 Price. 2 a bunch of those are AWD and I live in Central PA where we get that snow and crap although I daily a fwd car and don't miss and 3 I work at a place where they see a plain Taurus with a black grille, people get nervous.
Hi Bill, I'm going to be at my mom's place in Turtletown between May 25th thru the 28th. I was wondering if my wife and I could stop by and have a short visit. I would love to see your shop and the vehicles that you are working on. Please get back to me if I can or you are not going to let me. Great show today! 😊 😊😊😅
I'm driving a 2004 Ford Taurus with 51k miles thru GovDeals for $800 from Solano County. Just won and paid $350 for a 03 Crown Vic with 119k miles 400 miles away in Southern Cali in Hemet. Plan on a road trip on tues morning to drive the crown vic back home. I also use Public Surplus as well but they usually require a small $50 deposit on their vehicles. Nothing feels better then winning an auction imo
Yep, it's great. I just won a 98 chevy 3500 turbo diesel van with 40k miles for $860. They said the engine was stuck. I believe it's just the starter. Hope I'm lucky again. Good luck with your road trip!
no salt on our roads so we dont have to worry about any rust issues. and most maintanance yards take care of their vehicles. Only city that I avoid for their lack of maintaining all their fleet (city of san jose) and i search all of California for motor vehicles. $350 for a crown vic is my new low price record.
I just found Ford escape for sale from dealership 2012 with 84k miles its 2 yrs newer les miles with warranty cheaper than you paid , never ever get emotionaly envolved with bidding online , you never knpw what yoiu are getting unless your mechanic examined it
@007MegaRoll they are giving cars away now. Dealers can't sell anything. It's all in timing I guess. If you look at the prices I posted of cars at the time of purchase I did win.
I recently bought a 2014 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor. I won it for $3,800 after buyer's premium, and it has 115k miles. In the description, it said that it had charging issues, and they suspected the alternator to be bad. They had put a new Napa battery in it, before it was parked. It so happens that the Napa battery was a dud, and the alternator was fine all along! They just didn't want to bother with the car anymore, after they got new fleets in. I boosted off the car, and drove it to AutoZone. I put one of those $80 batteries in it, and all of my problems completely vanished! It drove perfectly fine 90 miles home, no lights or anything. Starts right up every time, and charges at 14.80 volts! I'm surprised I never got pulled over, because I had no tag, just insurance. I passed by 8 sheriffs and 2 state cops along the way. They just waved at me LOL!
Be careful they still owe me $1,000!!! Frankly this auction house is not ran by the government. But the way it's Grand I wish it was run by the DMV! That's all I'm going to say. Mom always said you had nothing good to say don't open your mouth 👄. And for what I got to say that's about as nice as it gets. By the way I am a seasoned online auction better and seller.
I believe Govdeals is Ritchie brothers auctions company. So far so good for me with them. I have had a few issues in they past, but there customer service team made it better.
Nice channel name. "Flatbroke Garage". BUT.... if you were flatbroke, you weren't capable to just fork out $3600 for this Escape. And don't be surprised if it runs faithfully. It's a 2nd gen Escape.
ford escape 2010 with 160 k milage? common man thats a rip off why would you pay so much for a junk ? repairs are expensive , unless you can fix cars never buy used car with that kind of milage
@007MegaRoll I can fix cars, and this was back when you couldn't find a cheap car. We have put 18000 miles on it without a single issue, so I'm happy. I'm so glad cars are less expensive in your area. You're lucky
No, I've never received one. In most cases, you can drive with a bill of sale and title. I brought plates off another car of mine just so I didn't get hassled. I did have full insurance on the car before I left home.
Nice buy! Could you please provide more information about the pickup process, insurance, temporary plates and tags, and registration? Did the car come with plates, or did you have to obtain temporary plates and tags yourself?
Thanks! You receive a bill of sale, and a title. That is good to drive it home from the place of purchase. I took the vin number from the auction listing after I won and simply called my insurance company and informed them I'd be picking it up. Everything goes very smoothly. It truly worth it.
@@flatbrokegarage Thank you for the reply. I just won my first bid on a car today, but the seller contacted me to inform me that he isn't willing to sell the car at that price (it wasn't a reserve listing). He offered to sell it directly to me outside of GovDeals, at a new price that includes a Buyer's Premium of 25% instead of 12.5%. This situation sounds sketchy and defeats the entire purpose of an auction sale. It seems like sellers are just using this platform to protect themselves completely, making it a win-win for them.
@maimonna I've been buying from them for 10 years. I've never heard of that. I would avoid it at all cost. Contact Govdeals as well. Just be patient. They have tons of vehicles
For sure. I've bought 7 vehicles from them. All were as exactly as described or better. One I didn't read the entire ad and burned myself. Other than that they are my daily drivers. Just stay away from drug seizure vehicles. Thanks for watching
Making videos like this only increases the chances of someone who watched this video bidding AGAINST you when you bid on something..its dumb to advertise where you get things unless you want people to drive up the bids. DUH!!!
I only needed the escape. Maybe the video will help a few people out there find a deal from all this over priced stuff on the market. There are plenty of vehicles out there to go around.
I think you got a great deal good job 👍 I have owned a couple ex P71 Crown Victoria's and it didn't matter about idle hours as long as they were maintained.
Thanks so much for watching! One of the vehicles I bought was a Michigan state police unmarked ford explorer. I did make people nervous. The problem was I always got stuck going the speed limit on 2 lane roads 😆
You got a great deal as you made it home with no issues. Well done.
Thanks! We have put almost 9000 miles on it so far with no issues yet. Best buy ever. Thanks for watching!
Driven 137k miles, idled for 10 million hours
On a Crown Vic, yes. I think this one was all road, not much sitting. At least I hope so 😆
Ive run a bunch of ex state stuff over the years! Ive always had great luck with their leftovers! Now, quit giving our secrets away! 😂
😆 the prices are going up 😆
Thanks for the video. You provided me with a lot of knowledge.

The awd is a plus for sure. I looked at the awd Taurus but we needed more of an suv type thing.
@FlatBroke Garage I just want the Taurus so it looks like cop or someone's PO.
I’ve always wanted to do that! Thank you for recording it brotha
It's worth a shot
Wow hope it works out well Bill, I to buy auction cars😮😊, cool show have a great weekend coming👊😊
