I don’t know for sure but I’m supposing that the flip plow has a ratcheting action at the pivot point of the plows. I’m really happy for you with the purchase of the excavator. I had a Mini like you bought. You will love it for the things you want to do. Had a neighbor make me a pin and new bushings for the bucket. Much cheaper than factory.
I love a good old time auction. Happy birthday Daniel. I like the "junk rows". So many treasures to be found there. A lot of fixer upper type stuff. That was a steal on the 8450. Cheap horsepower. My neighbor just bought a 2002 model 7810 for 51,000. You will enjoy that machine. Just always remember to "call before you dig".....

Thanks for taking us to the sell off----sort of reminded me of my grandfather's 'collection' of oldies but goodies clustered around his workshop on the ranch. Made a great playground for us kids and drove my folks nuts what with rattlers and rusty edges though.

Great buy! You won't believe how many things you can do with that machine. The mechanical thumb will be your best friend, for example how easy would it have been to clear out your old garden plot, just grab onto those overgrown brush and trees, then pull, shake off dirt, and drop into trailer. Good luck with it!
Nice buy Pete, now you can move pesky stones and stumps from your field and garden. I'm sure this thing will find a lot of use. The bucked and clam are easy fixes im sure your dad will come to the rescue with that one.

Your purchase is great, used one of these mini excavators a few times, sure you will get good use from it. Nice buy Pete. You will find jobs for that you would have never imagined. Case construction equipment is pretty good stuff. I think you will like it. I used to have an IH 430 baler with thrower. Was in a lot better shape though. Seems the harder you pushed it the better it ran. Pretty good little baler. Seems tractors were soft on price. Always a good day at an auction with family. Have an auction coming up in a week and a half for a friend of mine that passed last year. Will be interesting to see how his stuff sells. All red except a couple Cases. He took very good care of things, and he was a good man. I miss having conversations with him.
Three generations at the Auction! About the fan club (the young men/kids, you met at the Auction) it's cool to see our youth into farming (and bad jokes) but it's kind of scary, because there's so much on youtube that isn't "family friendly" anymore. So thanks for the bad jokes and "family friendly" content Pete! (and family!)

I started tractor driving on a W4 international nice to one again. We still have the tractor that it was traded in for a D17 series III bought in 1963. Still enjoy driving it on the farm just for playing with now. Thanks for the video I enjoy the auction videos.
Great little investment! And I wanted you to know I went to that site and bought myself a International muscle tractor shirt. It really is a good quality shirt. And the bonus is that It has your farm on it
I have an old backhoe that I use a lot. You will soon wonder how you got along without it. You might want to look for a smaller bucket for water lines. Going down five feet to get below frost results in lots of dirt. The smaller the trench the easier the backfill.

Great buy Pete, you will find that excavator will help with a lot on your farm. They are better than a skidloader. That has the thumb on it helps grabbing limbs, rocks, even works great for loading poo.
