The best move ever played was actually en passant. Educate yourself please
Holy hell!
Agreed
No that’s the greatest move, best != greatest
en passant CHECKMATE
First played by Garry Chess in the year 0 AP (After en Passant)
The craziest move I've ever seen was me getting mated by dude's castling.
I remember that!!!!!
Yeah me too, it's really hard to get the position tho, you'll have to sac your Queen to get one of the lines
if it's a one move mate it's not a crazy move, you just blundered lol
@@nextgenfootball69420 That's just a more negative way of framing the same thing though. Like even if it were a two-move mate, or three-move, or forty-five move mate, you could call it a blunder, or you could appreciate your opponent finding a great move or sequence of moves.
@@sashaboydcom lol not really, it's definitely a blunder if you have a chance to prevent mate in 1 but don't prevent it, because it's easy for the opponent to see the one move mate, there's no glory or skill in it, but there's definitely regret for the guy who blundered mate in 1 and that's why it's called a blunder
This is a nice switch up from the typical “Elo Gambit” played on the Guess the Elo series
Good to see another RL fan in here. Cheers

Everyone has their bad eggs. Germany has some really bad eggs, but still
Don't feel bad, most people would've joined the Nazi party in the 30's. They just claim they wouldn't knowing what we know today.
@@jensclarberg6419 Something like 15% of the population in the party and another 25% in the Wehrmacht by the end of the war, wasn't it?
Turns out, kinda hard to survive a genocidal totalitarian regime without joining, leaving the country or getting killed.
@@AnglosArentHuman You still have to consider, Hitler got voted in by like 30% iirc. People don't realize how toxic far-right movements can be even when they don't have majority control, everyone thinks somehow the entire country has to turn evil for a country to be as bad as nazi germany, which is just completely ignorant of the actual history
Yeah that history of Diemer - you did Nazi that coming
You should look up Diemer's Immortal Pawns game. He opens with 17 straight pawn moves, creates the most absurd position you've ever seen, and wins beautifully.
Hasent he looked at that one already?
@@Arctic_1605 Don't think so, but if he has then link please!
@@crazypomp927 i remember him covering a game where a lot of pawns got pushed but that was over 5 months ago probably

Yeah me too
@Esteban Pelaez Munoz I love a good climax, I’m in.
The queen sac that leads to forced king walk to opponent's back rank with mate is pretty nuts. Old timey game, don't remember who played it.

this sounded like mickey mouse having a meltdown

The fact that this game was a draw, demonstrated the level of craziness ironically
11:41 this is the move you're looking for
Thanks so much
Thanks
Thank you
Loses its beauty without seeing the whole match
@@Xx_thechildpredator_xX lol it's also not even the correct move, Levy was clearly talking about the Pawn move that happened later on
Hey Levi, if you're reading this, I just wanted to say that your content is great and incredibly informative. You've got good energy and are fun to watch. Elo swap was an awesome idea, and I hope to see many more. Thanks for what you do, keep it up!
FYI: his name is Levy not Levi
It’s levy not Levi
lmao hes not from attack on titian *facepalm
i would like to add that im extremely grateful for how levy has contributed to the chess community. no one besides him is capable of holding a community like chess together. im writing this hoping that if levy doesnt realize this already that he does now. levy you da man
@@Tyler-bp4md Yeah, maybe if he would just post the move list like Agadmator does!
I have to say, it's a surprise to watch a Diemer game and find the absolute craziest move was from the other guy. If you out crazy Diemer you must be a real original.
Diemer has got to be one of the weirdest characters in Chess history, weirder than even Morphy's death and Fischer's mental descent. Man has connections with Nazi's, got booted out of the Federation, and for some reason started following Nostradamus, already coupled with his very unorthodox chess playing style.
what is it with chessmasters going completely batshit
@@Voomanprobably something about doing nothing with your life besides looking at a board
Diemer was expelled from the German chess federation in 1953 for homosexuality and "corruption of innocent youth." Also, he wasn't a Nazi-sympathizer, but a literal Nazi.
9:49 Honestly, there I was expecting some "The only move for black is to resign":(

@@rumabanerjee1080 i know, iwant to see levy's analysis as well. For such an amazing, interesting and weird game, there should be multiple perpsectives.
"I wish all of chess could be solved with just me explaining things in 5 words"
"English is a difficult language"
Exactly 5 words, good start :P
He has so much energy and enthusiasm for chess, it's hard not to be all excited along with him.
How Levy describes every Grandmaster
Levy: “Strong”
That's the common nomenclature
Love watching analysis of brilliancies. Nice.
"trying to suffocate his opponent... with chess pieces" hey wait a minuteeee
I don't skip a single video of yours. You are just that amazing Levy. Absolutely enjoyable content in every way. Much love

dishonored, nice game
That was a pretty fascinating game. Both of them on the verge of defeat repeatedly, and such a creative play. Fun to watch.
This was one of the most incredible games I've ever seen!
that was actually more brilliant than 2 blue explanation points!!! keep up the great work gotham! your content is the real most brilliant thing here
I'm loving this series. The games you choose are fantastic, Levi. Thank you so much.
The fact that Trommosdorf foresaw all these savage lines after B4 makes my head hurt
" he is still going to the "suffocating the opponent" approach... with chess pieces" 😂😂 you got me here, Levy
Not really relevant but I played the Traxler twice today. The first time I destroyed my opponent, the second time he declined to go into it. Definitely a slept on defense.
When a pawn push marinates your king
13:31 Levy's videos are getting so good with those acting comedian or whattever things he's doing
Can you show the Emil Joseph Diemer “Immortal Pawn” game?
"Comment reserved for when I think about something funny to say"

"And he was a nazi simpathizer"

was he really a nazi sympathizers?
What??
I don’t think he was a nazi sympathiser but he definitely had anti-Semitic rhetoric (pardon my spelling if anything is wrong)
Fischer wasn't a Nazi symphatizer at all, he was angry with his mother and tried to be controversial( also remember he was crazy like Fox News)

“Like moving in a house and closing the blinds forever”
It looks like they were having a contest as to how many pieces they can hang on the board all at once, while also trying to make the stupidest looking moves they can possibly make...
The title of Chess Editor for the Nazi Reich doesn't sound like a "Nazi Sympathizer" to me. It sounds like he was just a Nazi.
...so he was a Nazi sympathizer? They both pretty much mean the same thing.
He could also be kinda forced to do that, not sure how easy was to say no to hitler and friends and survive
@@gavinan6964 Was Schindler a Nazi sympathizer too then? No thats just stupid. Also in my opinion it just sounds like having a job while living in Germany. Not that he had many other choices. He might have been a bad person, but i won't judge based on my limited knowledge.
im not an idiot sympathizer, and it sounds to me like your just an idiot

Bro that gave me more emotions than anything
1:29 "I have seen this line before" --- before 1987 ????
Fascinating game. Great play-by-play. This illustrates why I’ll never be good at chess… Have you ever done a video talking about The Turk? As far as chess is concerned it’s more sizzle than steak, but the story sure is interesting.
Watching games like these and then playing chess myself makes me feel like I’m turning up to a gunfight with a stick
8:30 "That was a little 8 minutes of introduction" 😂😂😂
The best move ever? It has to be either Steinitz sacking his rook vs van bardeleben.... Or Shirov and his bh3

The most beautiful will always be that two knights mate combo / sac.
What a game. This must be declared game of the century
Levy thank you so much for featuring Emil Joseph Diemer, he’s on of my favorite players. I don’t care for your preface about any historical non-chess details about the guy but that’s besides the point. Great video :)

Hey levy :3. I noticed something cool and I wanted to share it with you since I know you’re Ukrainian. While I talking to my Dad, he’s Ukrainian, he told my little brother to drop something out of his hands, “Кинь срук” which sounds a lot like “Kings Rook”. I though it was cool, hope you did too :7
