“If you can’t last longer than 3 minutes that is a skill you must develop not just for chess.” 6th best brilliant move
The absolute best I must say... Not even Carlsen has that kind of creativity
Lmao, was about to say the same thing
I am known for finishing my games under 1 min

Levy has experience
Me: “This is for sure a brilliant move!”
Stockfish: “WTF?!”
🤣🤣🤣🤣 this is true, i felt this one... legit laughed out loud
Accurate lmao, happened to me yesterday, I was like yeee this has to be a brilliant move, then engine made da analysis and was like BLUNDER!
Stockfish: Homie, that's a blunder, get gud. 👊

As an 800 peasant, I agree
Guess the eval plus guess the move played in that position.

Great ideia
What this is actually a really good idea
i found 4 of the 5 brilliant moves, i found them by looking at the position then finding the move that looked like the biggest blunder that could be played.

This is exactly how I solve puzzles on lichess
Ya
I found the first and didnt try to find the rest, why? Because I straight up guessed the Brilliants, only after seeing that square was defended did Levy just tell me it was the Brilliant. Yeah.
Yea… that happens
Finally a video where Levy is proud of himself!
I really hope that while making this video, Levy was reminded of how well he can play, and how good he really is at his best. The IM title is a huge accomplishment, and not only is he a great teacher, he really is a great player as well.

Schnitzel is actually Austrian. It is called Wiener Schnitzel, after the capital; Vienna. You should have put "bratwurst" for Germany. The more you know Levy ;) love the vid anyways!
L = Levy
That’s what I wanted to comment
Schnitzel ist lecker.... But yeah a Bratwurst would have been slightly more fitting, but duh...
Its a stereotype about us... so...
Sauerkraut with Kartoffel and Bratwurst would be "typical"
It's probably old enough as a recipe for it to have been developed when Vienna was still part of "Germany". Or one of it's predecessors. Not sure if that makes Levy technically correct because Schnitzel is definitely more Austrian than German.
@@kaschmir3 uhm. There was no Germany before 1871. There was the Holy Roman Empire, which was basically funtioning like a lot of little countries held in power from one ruler (the holy roman emperor) and there was the Eastern- Habsburg empire, which was about the same but a yet still different. Actually Vienna was never a part of Germany except the time when hitler occupied it. So please learn before you speak. (And I mean it in the kindest manner possible)
I've made one brilliant move, ever. It was a crowning achievement, also it was on randomized start.
the fact that levy not only found these brilliant moves, but found them with literal seconds left on the clock is insane. cant wait until your a grandmother you definitely deserve it 💕

That last sequence was magical. I love that the knight has just been chilling in defence and in the last minutes of the game races up the field and sets up the winning goal.
4:09 nah that line was actually wild bruh....
Opened the comments as soon as I heard that 😂
On the last one I thought I was so smart for finding the immediate queen sac idea after they took the rook, but then I was like "aw crap"at 28:10 when he went Bd4 attacking the queen since I figured there was a problem I missed with the queen sac which is why he didn't play it Then I felt really great about myself again at 30:20 when it turned out that my combination not only was right but a move faster than Levy's most brilliant combo 😎

I have a video idea, if you like it: “Top 5 best moves that wasn’t played.” It would be Stockfish with some crazy tactics that wasn’t spotted by the player in a game. Might be hard to find some games, but I think it’ would be a interesting video.
It’s so nice to see a video where you’re excited for yourself and your chess rather than being so hard on yourself! Glad to see positive Levy is back :D

I'm proud I actually spotted the better variation of #1, and I know it's easier because we know to expect something brilliant but I'm bad at chess so I'm happy to see it

Bad at chess = what rating? If you are under 1000 and saw the entire sequence, then that's extremely impressive.

I agree about seeing mistakes titled players make. It gives me confidence that, say, people rated 2000 can be open for blunders. Also sometimes learning a tactical pattern a 2200+ player missed but that seems intuitive to me is a confidence booster. It gives me an idea of what I can maybe focus on.
last brilliant move came out on a daily puzzle
The Last Brilliant move was INSANE

Hey man, keep up the great work, i really look forward to your future content and merch!
dude the last one was absolutely ridiculous. like you'd see up till the last knight check but then i was like shit i cant mate cuz then he just takes my knight. taking the pawn with check and then mating is just absolute brilliance. rlly great stuff. pls post more of these
Thank you again for highlighting your mistakes as well as the brilliant moves, this is very relatable and inspiring!
In my games: "Yes, I'm a genius, I see a checkmate!" Computer: "You moron, this has been hanging for three moves now"
These really are brilliant. Chess creativity at its finest. My respect for you has gone way up.
That double past pawn on the queen side was beautiful, so many possibilities
Man! The last brilliant move was "brilliant"...The Queen sacrifice reminds "Judit polgar's Queen sacrifice "against Pavlina(1988)!!

What about a video(series), where your subscribers can send their own brilliant moves and you pick the best/most interesting ones? I think this would be pretty awesome because the feeling to play a brilliancy as a amateur chess player is probably even more amazing than for a titled player :)
Point of series?
Top 5 blunders would be a fun video. Thanks for the content, you're the best

Other games: 'Engine you are stupid'
Hi Levy I am a big fan of your videos, and I love watching your recaps because it helps me learn. But I never learn how to stop pawns/pawn attacks from your recaps of videos, if you could please make a vid for pawn attacks.

Twelve on the thumbnail I think
the last one remembered me the first time i could perform a smothered mate, i felt so proud of myself, also there was another attempt where i didn't noticed that there was a queen instead of a rock next to the king and so... i lost trying to checkmate
Thank you for this video! I had a rough day at university today and just the first game made me so happy that I forgot about it.
Hello gotham ! Quick question:
After watching these games, these wins are nothing compared to the brilliancy you made in your game versus peter svidler, why didn't u include it ?
4000 brilliant moves? Man you're insane. You should be a GM like no cap.

He isn't good enough to be a GM. But he is a decent IM.
I've recently been playing Blitz and have got my first 2 Brilliant Moves ever it's a very nice feeling.
One was to sack my Rook in order to force their Queen onto a square where it would be forked with the King.
The other was another Rook sack to break up the pawns protecting their King allowing an all-out assault.
In both games I was losing but through the sacrifice of material I was able to set up winning tactics.
I also lost both games on time...
Excellent video. I loved it and I love the idea of a best blunders video too. Can't wait.
As an Austrian, associating Schnitzel with Germany is highly insulting (their schnitzels suck). Still great video! ;)

Wow!! The beauty of chess on full display. That final game - forced sequence delivers mate in 6 after the queen sacrifice!! Incredible episode demonstrates the vision, knowledge and pattern recognition it takes to be 2600+. Thanks!
Both brilliant moves and mate in 1 for game 1 I found before you mentioned them.
Day 315 of translating Levy's titles to Russian: "5 самых идеальных ходов от Леви!"
if anyone has a better translation for brilliant go ahead
Levy at the end when you sacrificed the queen for the rook and found mate in 6 I think its faster to sacrifice the bishop for the pawn, cause if the king takes its lost. If he doesnt take you can take the rook with check while the bishop protects.
Pls part 2 of this brillant moves!!
Appreciate the effort levy🎉🎉
As a beginner who like to play the Nimsovich-Larsen, I am quite happy with the video but the positions are still so wild for me
Ive gotten two brilliant moves as a beginner. Both of them were me accidentally hanging a piece while trying to go for a checkmate that I promptly blundered and lost the game a few moves later.
video about Levy's best blunders would be awesome to see!
Best blunders sounds amazing! Please do it, Mr. Levy!
I always love his little funny side. Always love that 3 minute skill.
Just listened to the Danya podcast where you were talking about this as a video in the works. Glad to finally see it!

Need a video on bishop and knight checkmate I've seen many but didn't understand although I'm sure that I'll understand if you make it.
15:08 has changed the entire way I view chess. I have been playing for 13 years, and his decision to completely ignore queen side in favour for a sneaky f4 pawn push on HIS weak side was brilliant. A brilliant diversion with is weak pieces to protect his potentially strong pieces.
at 5:08 there’s a better move, once the bishop takes the second rook, take with the knight which would then be defended by the queen which also invokes a fork on the white queen and rook
4:32 i predicted that move cuz i saw a sacrifice and thought oh i bet he is gonna sacrifice THE ROOOOOOOOOOK
16:52 Didn’t know the UK’s national food was a chess player
Incredibly funny video and amazing games, I specially enjoyed the last one brilliant move with that little sprinkle of stupidity we all share. Keep rolling Levy!
In game 3 that bishop sac is actually a fairly common idea, and most players above 1400 see it as natural. That being said, these were fun games, I like how this is a positive spin on how much you usually show us things like your worst blunders. Maybe it’s part of a sports health program and maybe not but I like the positive vibes!
Congrats levy. Love to see this type of content

This was amazing, thank you. Yes, I'd love to see your best blunders, too
Beautifull games man. Such a lovely sequence on that last game. One move too much with that Bishop but such a great idea. Chess is way more interesting played by Humans. Thanks for the inspiration
Damn, I want to be able to see more than 3 moves ahead. It’s very difficult for me to be able to do 10 but it takes up all my mental capacity but you do it effortlessly, love it
Levy you are so smart. I was wondering how a rook could be better than 2 pieces, and if you could provide some examples. Thanks!
the last one was just insane Levy... about not being "that" brilliant, no, it was brilliant. It just took longer to get to the right plan - with more time to play, you probably could've (i'm pretty sure you'd be able to) calculate from the position prior, that the same variation you played was possible. Best wishes, ppreciate the grind!!
Levy you are the most active, consistent, and entertaining public personality around. Thank you for always providing informative and comical content. I cannot imagine the stress and turmoil that accompany running such a large platform, but know that you make it seem effortless!
I really suck at chess so it’s interesting seeing how these grandmaster games have really strong and creative plans that usually take an unorthodox path. Its starts to sound like an artist talking instead of a player. It’s also interesting seeing how moves differ from the computers “best move”. Used to play a lot more chess a few years ago but these new chess youtubers have made me fall in love with outsmarting opponents again.
my first brilliant move i got today was a tactic. It was inspired by those tactics where you check the king to take a piece. My bishop was behind my rook and my opponent made his queen lined up to my bishop. I moved my rook and took his knight with a discovered attack on his queen. He didn't see it and he took my rook and lost his queen. resigned right after.
Sacrifices are so cool when they work out like in this video
4:32 In brilliant one you could play knight f2
Honestly Bishop f8 impressed me most, could not predict that at all.
damn the last game!gonna watch this video several times learned many new things.
16:10 Thanks guy! This is my favorite video you’ve posted in a while… You look pumped!
