    I’ve been trying to learn as much as I can by Saturday watching all your videos! I detail cars for a living, and I ordered the renegade kit and about to purchase a Dewalt machine tomorrow. I got 2 semis to polish out, and to say I’m nervous is an understatement. Hopefully I can get these semis to shine! Got the wheels, tanks, and the box near the steps. I’m pretty sure I under quoted my self a lot, and hopefully I can get both of them done in a day. But we will see! Thank you for sharing these videos!

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing

      I do know some polishers that have tried it but I personally have not. 9,000 is way too fast and dangerous for me to get ballsy enough to try it. And I'm not certain it would have enough torque to be able to use enough pressure to be effective. But if you do try it let me know. Be safe and shine on.

      I have the Makita 9227 and it's about 13 yrs old and I've only replaced the cord which was
      about a 5 minute job and never touched or replaced the brushes.
      The variable speed is the way to go when buffing paint or sanding wood.
      I blow it out running after each use to keep it from collecting dust.
      The Makita 9237C is pretty much the same buffer but weighs a pound more but has added
      features and may well be worth the extra money.
      I paid $175. for my 9227c and have worked it a lot.

    I searched your channel to see if you talked about mesh sandpaper, came back with no results. I see in the comments that one of your preferred brands is Mirka, but it seems you use paper backed discs. What's your opinion on mesh discs like the Mirka Abranet?

    • @EvanStegerMetalPolishing
      @EvanStegerMetalPolishing  3 дня назад

      We've actually just started messing with the mesh sandpaper and are about to do a video on it. I have found that on aluminum the mesh works great and extends the life of the paper but on the stainless it gets so hot it tears the mesh up and makes a mess. But we are still testing and hoping to get different results. But you will see a video here sooner or later.
