Hey Pan love your videos!!!
I have a question.
Do you recommend the waffle style that looks like hills for paint correction or flat pads like with honey combs or plain flat pads??
What kit do you recommend for least aggressive to aggressive correction.
I’m using a rotary Mikita buffer.
Please help this is something else I want to add to my skill set. Thank you in advanced
Awsome
Pan, thanks for having Yvan on your channel for this topic. His methods work, and are simple. He’s an amazing teacher, and it’s obvious he loves what he does.
Thank you, yes I do love what I do.
And a good friend too. Cheers!
I second this!
The term DA came from National Detroit's autobody finishing sander that Had the letters DA under the handle that was operated by a counter weight and and offset bearing mounted on that counterweight. Not Flex, which is a German company. If you are a DYI person or a recent detailer, stay with a dual Action polisher. Rotary machines take years to perfect your skill and you can burn your edges and high points in seconds . These product videos are great but they are made to sell product. Thank You
I love how simple Yvan makes everything, and I love how simple the diy gold standard system is.
Thank you
Thanks for watching Ethan!
I'm a bodytech guy and have been detailing cars for over twenty years. So, for some reason I still like the wool pad.
Pan, I’ve been quietly binging your videos for a little over a month now. I have to say, I am throughly impressed with not only your content, but your videography, audio knowledge, and your genuine love to share your passions. I was taking my all blacked out 2014 ram 1500 to the car wash for many years and the paint has suffered greatly. I recently purchased a lot of cheap and basic upgrades for my pressure washer and started to wash my truck myself. I’ve very quickly learned through your videos what to do, how to implement, and what to get to up my game and make my life easier and more efficient. I truly thank you for your dedication and heart to share for someone like myself that is just starting out. My truck is in need of some good polishing so I’ll be working my way into it using this video and the others you’ve done to get started.

Great to hear!

The DIY products are my favorite line of products and their customer service and education are top class! When I first got back into detailing the process of understanding polishers and pads were overwhelming! You just have to start working different products to begin to understand what works together. I am the oddball who likes using the flex 3401 original version for cutting and the corded rotary for polishing. If I ever get a shop big enough for boats then I will buy a 21mm random orbital polisher! Thank you for the video Pan!
Thank You Neil.

Today i feature products for the detail garage and im the lead detailer at VIP in So Cal. So anyways, i seen a video of DIY Detail giving a product review on Chemical Guys VSS diminishing abrasive combined with a MICROFIBER pad and all i could do was laugh as he was not impressed with the results 😂 I finally came to the conclusion that nobody is ever wrong, we will always fine tune our combinations and techniques while considering the methods of others

Hello Lads,
A great production from you all.👍 It was very interesting to listen to Yvan and Nick. I am completing readjusting my approach to paint correction on the basis of Yvan's comments. One aspect, I have always done and it is great to hear Yvan's comments, is to jewel with a rotary. The difference in gloss is substantial. I have used Menzern's P085rd as a jewelling polish for many years. I am very keen to try their 'Gold Standard.' I notice Clean your Car, here, in Britain have started stocking their products.
Once again a great video. It would be great to go for a beer with you all and 'chew the fat' about detailing.👍👍👍
Thanks for the positive feedback!!

Pan, thank you for an excellent video. Very informative, Yvan and Nick certainly have simplified the polishing process. I tried using a palm sander to polish a car about 18 years ago but got away from it when I thought that you needed a dedicated dual action polisher. The dual action does a better job but isn't necessary in every scenario. Thanks again.

epic mullet!!!
Thanks for the good content on your channel. Quick question to everyone, I have a Cyclo orbital polisher, do you see any reason for me to get a Flex DA for removing swirls etc.?
Which pads did you use for the three examples? You used the orange waffle (which I have on order - thanks) for the middle band - what did you use for the more aggressive and finishing pads?
Thanks!
Hi pan wow I’ve been detailing for many years, wow thanks so very much for the content today I’ve now learned a lot about pads and polishing great job see you on the next chapter stevie from Rs cars .England
You are so welcome!
Thank you
Hi guys! Awesome video! I noticed you mentioned gel coat and was wondering if there are any changes in your process for dealing with that versus the clear coat? Also, does your moist pad approach work with other polishes or only with your product? I work at an RV dealership and they have their own equipment/products that I am trying (slowly) to get them to reconsider. An uphill battle, but one worth fighting.
Definitely worth fighting for, mention to them higher profitability.
Most polishes react well with a damp pad.
Gelcoat and clearcoat react basically the same when it comes to polishing
This was soooo good! Thank u pan , Yvan, and Nick! Ive been "detailing" my personal cars for about 30 years and FINALLY feel its time for that next step. I really appreciated this and now subscribed to their channel. Im getting the confidence on purchasing my own equipment. Just trying to learn before i pull the trigger since I'm a novice in this area of detailing.
Our pleasure Ramon! You can do it! :)
Great news!

You bet! How did you discover my channel by the way?
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on RUclips as we surpassed 940,000 subscribers and we have over 123 million views! I have been detailing for 26 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
I dunno how Yvon did it. He taught with great detail but in the end it was simple. Well done
Thank you.
I may add if you have big scraches go wool pad with heavy cut and then fine cut with foam pad. And also a lot depends on quality of chemicals i can recomend koch chemie it worked for me other ones not so much. If you have an DA orbital sure even lower quality is ok. And also patience is very important if you do it by yourself cause if you rush it its not so great as it can be. Thanks Pan for teaching us things cause I did it alone and it worked miracles on my Audi. 🙏🙏🙏
Thanks for the positive feedback!
What do you recommend to polish bare aluminum? Thanks
