I'd suggest rolling them for sure. The stretched tires will probably slide in with a good roll. I don't like pulling fenders because it can look ugly. You may want to use a camber kit if you don't already have one.
Thanks for the clear step by step, this helps a ton! I have H&R springs that make a clunking noise at low speeds on the front right passenger side. I tried isolators, reinstalling and tightened everything and still that clunking noise is present. Any idea what it could be?
+Jimmeh CabTV You're welcome! I would check the sway bar end links. I've heard numerous people have the same noise and the sound was the end link being a little loose. Let me know if that works!
Thanks man for the video :) I just installed a set of lowering springs on my honda 2008 LX and noticed that front springs are loose when tighten them up all the way! is that normal?
Eissa Nasr Same skunk2 or a different brand? A different brand might be a lower stance and therefore not be as tall as the skunk2 springs. It will then be loose when you have the car lifted but will compress as you lower it to the ground.
First time ever doing a mod to my car and took me 10hrs to do the front suspension. P.S one of the strut tower bolts fell off behind the strut tower so now one of my bolts is in my fender I think and me and my dad took us about 3 hrs to get it but failed and just gave up.
actually we never thought of using a magnet thanks for the idea. Btw the front passenger side has knocking whenever I hit a bump (even the small ones) do u have any idea what might be the cost? but I think its because of the nut we lost cause the nut that we replaced it with doesn't really go in well (there still a tiny gap) and I think whenever the I hit a bump it goes up and down causing the knocking?
Jon Widmer got mines done and love the drop, but notice the ride quality was pretty bouncy in some areas, like the stock struts couldnt handle it much. how is yours?
Great video that looks pretty simple however I've heard if you don't change the shocks out too they can blow out prematurely from being held at this new lowered position. Has he had this problem now that it's been in the car for a while?
Do you need to replace the shock when installing the new skunk2 spring and also what do u prepared coilovers or lowering spring thanks again man great content on your chanel wish your the best
As long as your shocks aren't blown you don't need to replace them. These springs are a pretty mild drop so they will not damage the shocks as prematurely as being slammed. I personally like Coilovers better, I like being able to set my ride height where I'm happy. With springs you don't have a choice.
haven't watched the procedure here and I'm not car savvy at all but the procedure for uninstalling these springs would be the same as installing them and replacing them with the OEM springs? so you wouldn't ever be able to tell the springs has been modded? thanks for the help
Yes, you would need the spring compressor to put the oem springs back onto the strut though. It is impossible without that tool for the fronts. The rear will not need the compressor.
Jon Widmer and lastly, is it difficult/expensive to sought the OEM springs? I'm buying the car (integra 05') off a mutual friend, and it's lowered to 2.5inch (which I wanna remove), but doesn't have the OEM springs anymore.
Did you have to roll the fenders or take the wheel wells out or any modifications? I'm just asking because I'm considering buying Skunk2 springs for my '10 Civic.
Was it able to be aligned to or close to oem spec after? I'm looking to install tein S-techs. I kept a camber bolts for the front off my rsx hopefully they fit lol
I did not change the shocks. The skunk2 springs only moderately lower the car and the chances of blowing the shocks is less severe. If the shocks had a lot of miles on them then we may have changed them but they had less than 30,000 miles on them.
I've got a 2013 Civic Si Sedan myself same as yours but mines black and I just paid it off 2 months ago so I'm wanting to do the same to mine. It's stock except for a Skunk 2 Mega Power exhaust and K&N Typhoon Series Intake, but I'm just scared of tearing something up if I do this especially now that it's paid for. Like hit a pothole or an incline and tear my front end off. Any advice given would be greatly appreciated. Like will it kill my stock struts if I do this instead of coil overs? I've got 2 kids I can't afford coil overs at the moment or new struts lol.
So i put these rear springs on my civic si and the rear coil springs are actually touching in the middle when it has a load on it. Iv never seen coil springs sit on each other like that and was curious if your looks like that too.
hey does the windshield wiper cowel/ area make it harder to remove the bolts for the top of the struts? did you take anything off to expose it or were you able to fit a wrench in there? thanks a lot
Great video. How's the ride after? Does it handle curves better? Do i need a camber kit as well? Ive gkt a 2013 civic si and it rolls in the beginning of cornering. Thanks!
+White Devil it handles a lot nicer, more sporty and the center of gravity is lower which makes the turns more crisp. A camber kit and alignment are suggested, and will save from premature tire wear.
Check the skunk2 website, I believe it states how much drop these springs provide. I couldn't tell you, this wasn't my car. I just did the work for him.
Did u need some camber kits for the rear or it didnt need it? also after the install did u get it aligned? i have the same lowering springs and im about to put em on pretty soon.
No camber kit was used. The owner drove the car for about 10 months on these wheels and tires and the tires wore fine. They were the original tires that came with the car and had a little over 40,000 miles at the time of replacement back in December. He bought new wheels and tires and did have the car aligned at that time. It is always recommended to get the car after lowering them though, and if your budget can afford I would get a camber kit also.
hey i like ur video im planning to do the same ro my 2015 civic so get the skunk 2 lowering springs too but quik question if i get the lowering springs what size rim will fit my 15 si when its droped like that? will 18x8.5 fit or is it too big? im tryna get rims that i will not have to roll my fenders
That size should fit if your offset isn't too low and your tires aren't too thick. I would really do some searching on Google to see what other people are using close to that size.
Hi, I'm going to be installing my skunk2 springs on my 2013civic si this week. Just wondering if I need alignment and also, did you rear wheels camber at all?
The rear cambered slightly. It is suggested to get an alignment after lowering these vehicles. You'll save your tires from getting eaten up very quickly.
Thanks for the help! Im considering this but after the price of the springs and camber kits for front and rear and potentially shocks I'm not sure and may go to coil overs
When putting the nut back on the strut, did yo put the allen wrench there just for support so it doesnt move? What size socket are you using to tighten the nut?
ive been wanting to lowered my car. but not that sure which one is good for my honda civic 2013. i like how lowered your car get. i dont like too lowered. any suggestion on which spring to get and brand? im on a budget too :)
These skunk2 are pretty inexpensive. Or some Eibach springs also. Most reputable brand name springs will have better quality than some generic and I wouldn't suggest getting a cheap set.
what do you call that black thing on the front of your car ? is that a lip spoiler? may i ask if you got that from the dealer or somewhere else? makes the car look sporty.
The car has not been aligned after I lowered it. With the new negative camber induced you will probably need a camber kit to get it aligned if there is too much negative camber. I've seen some shops align lowered cars without camber kits, and some places do not. I'm not sure what that depends on though per each different shop.
I have a 2013 passat and I was told by two garages that installing lower springs would take 7 hours. I also was quoted a price range from 450-930 dollars. I think all of that is a rip off I would like your opinion on it.
I just checked a VW forum and it seems $300-$450 is fair. A couple people said it can be a little tricky but not too difficult. It seems the average time should be about 3-4 hours for your Passat.
So I'm doing this on my 2015 si coupe and I couldn't unbolt the end link suspension bolt you got out. At first the nut started screwing off but then the whole bolt started to spin freely with the nut. Because of that I can't tighten it either. I finished the job by unbolting the nut below it but since I couldn't tighten the top one, my suspension makes noise. Any suggestions?
Use a jack to either raise/lower the rear control arm. This happened to me on the driver side but I was able to lower the rear lower control arm and keep resistance on the end link and it allowed me to re tighten it.
I lowered a 2008 Civic Si today and the end link has a slot for an Allen wrench. It'll allow you to re tighten the end links. I'll post the video tonight. I showed how I loosened it.
He hasn't used any shims or the camber bolts. I've looked at prices and they aren't too expensive for the camber bolts and the rear kit. He wants to get one and install it and properly get his car aligned and the camber set appropriately, but he has not had any problems and his tire wear hasn't been dramatically reduced.
I don't know, sorry. I don't own anything newer than my 2000 Civic and haven't messed with 8th and 9th gens much except for the 2 that I made videos of when I lowered them.
Would you suggest putting on a camber kit when installing lowering springs or not necessarily? Also could this installation be done with simple hand tools and spring compressor? I don't have the air gun 😟
Charles Michael You'll be fine with hand tools, just a little more tired. 😊. I would recommend getting an alignment. The camber won't eat your tires up as much as having a toe setting that is off.
Perfecttt! Also should I get the alignment asap when I install the springs or wait for the springs to settle in first? sorry for asking so many questions..
Charles Michael I'd wait a week to let them settle completely, then go. if you can afford the camber kit though, I would get that and install before the alignment.
Wasup man. I have an civic 07 coupe and I’m lookin to get a lowering kit myself. My only issue is I was curious to know if u personally think those shocks were worth it. And do they ride smooth and how long till they should be replaced. Sorry bout all the questions this is my first car so I’m just tryin to treat her right😅
Hey Jon I'm installing some Eibach sport lines on mine and when I try to unbolt the nut on the end link, the screw keeps spinning with the end link. What should I do
+Jon Widmer Thanks man, wasn't broken but for the life of me i couldn't get the rear springs in the back to pop in, going to have a mechanic do it... I did get the front done though thanks to you!
+Justin Tiu Vlogs That's too bad, I really didn't have to press too hard. You should try spraying wd40 all over the spring where it meets the rubber isolator and also a lot on the rubber.
@@GarageBuiltHondas i had trouble getting the the sway bar inlink off in the back , putting a allen key in there hasn’t been working and neither has a vice grip to keep the bolt from spinning while i take the nut out. do you have any tips ?
Spray some penetrating lube on it. Use a torch to heat the nut but try not to overheat any of the rubber parts. It may help break it loose and allow you to use the Allen head socket and wrench.
There really is no set mileage. It all depends on driving conditions and abuse. It has been 5 months and he has no problems at all. He daily drives the car and it still rides great.
Jon Widmer yeah i did but i made sure to tighten everything, i also added skunk2 sport shocks 2015 si.. there was a cylinder type thing on the shock was that supposed to go in between the bushing and lower shock bolt?
Jon Widmer it was my left rear shock, i got under the car grab it and it had play... ended up jacking up the car and putting another jack under the hub to compress the suspension and tightened the bolt now my noise is gone....
The springs were only about $140 if I remember correctly. It's not difficult work but many shops will charge you an arm and a leg. I only charged my friend $100.
Angel Diaz Check the end links and make sure they are tightened completely. You may need an Allen wrench and a regular wrench to tighten them all the way.
Clean ass color way man! i wanted white but since i got one of the last ones d 2015 on the lot they only had black. its alrght tho :) anyways, what do you or anyone else think about godspeed suspension?
The car was aligned after the drop so it didn't have any issues. It'll probably wear quick if you don't have it aligned, and the camber kit would be the best option. The car is even lower now on Raceland coils since July so we'll see how that wears.
I personally wouldn't buy them. I've heard they wear out fast. I'd save your money and buy something more reputable. My friend didn't like this after too long.
I tried, but the nut just kept spinning on the shaft. I replaced some struts on a 2008 civic 4 days ago and using the impact gun worked. You'll need to be careful tightening it though. I've broken the shaft before when the nut tightened down completely and it broke the threaded part right off the top of the strut shaft.
UPDATE! Using the impact gun worked on a 2008 civic that I recently changed the struts on. The taller OEM springs added more compression to the top hat and didn't allow the strut shaft to spin and the nut tightened up easily.
Your video just made my job really easy. I just followed it from beginning to end. Thank you for being very detail about everything.
You're welcome, thanks for checking out the video!!!
Oh my gosh! Always watched your channel back before the name change with my last 2 efs... now I get a 2013 Si and stumble upon the channel again!
The force is strong in this one! 👽
this makes me wish i lived somewhere where the roads were actually taken care of rather than filled with pot holes, looks very nice
We do have some ugly parts but it is pretty decent mainly.
@Benny Gonzalez - no rolled fenders and all fender linings are present. It did not rub on anything.
Jon Widmer I have 17"x9" rims and I am worried that if I lower my car, it would rub on my tires?
More than likely. What offset are the wheels and what size are your tires?
Jon Widmer the offset is 35 and my tires are 215/45ZR17 91W, it's a bit stretched.
Jon Widmer What are your suggestions on what should I do since the fenders are more than likely to rub on my tires?
I'd suggest rolling them for sure. The stretched tires will probably slide in with a good roll. I don't like pulling fenders because it can look ugly. You may want to use a camber kit if you don't already have one.
Thanks to you I'll be finally lowering the FG4 Sunday!
Thanks for the clear step by step, this helps a ton! I have H&R springs that make a clunking noise at low speeds on the front right passenger side. I tried isolators, reinstalling and tightened everything and still that clunking noise is present. Any idea what it could be?

Blow strut. He should of upgraded his shocksin the car when adding the springs or he will forever blow struts
I have the same problem. Were you able to solve the problem?
Did you have any trouble bolting the strut back on around 9:24 mark ... mine doesn't seem to wanna go back in
awwwyeea No problem at all.
best video I found for 9th gen. thanks
would you need to buy the tool that holds the springs together @ 2:54? or does it come with it?
You can rent it for free.
It will then be loose when you have the car lifted but will compress as you lower it to the ground.
different brand, by Spec D. I fixed the issue up front, but the rear springs get loose when I jack up the car
First time ever doing a mod to my car and took me 10hrs to do the front suspension.

+ALPHA PLAYER it's possible, but double check the sway bar end links also. Those seem to make noise if not tightened all the way.
okay thank you
Is there a ride comfort sacrifice after the install?
Hardly, still feels very nice.
Thank you for making this walkthrough! Springs just came in today cant wait to put them in.
very nice!!
this is just the video I will need. Planning to buy this for my 2014 Civic HF lol. I’m just worried of bottoming-out man.
You won't, they aren't that low.
Good video; thanks for putting this together. It helped my install this weekend immensely.
Youre welcome!
Great job, just received mines the other day, can't wait to install it, thank you so much for a great diy vid!
You got it!
Jon Widmer got mines done and love the drop, but notice the ride quality was pretty bouncy in some areas, like the stock struts couldnt handle it much. how is yours?
It rides just a little bit more harsh than stock, but still comfortable. Do you have a lot of miles on your struts?
good respectable drop, I know these are stock shocks but what is a optimal sport shock to pair these up with?
Anything brand name afternoon. See if Koni or Bilstein make a strut for these cars.
Is that a 2-in drop? Mine has the same springs and I'm going to get a camber kit for it front and rear. The tires have gotten eaten up on the inside
Great video that looks pretty simple however I've heard if you don't change the shocks out too they can blow out prematurely from being held at this new lowered position. Has he had this problem now that it's been in the car for a while?
You're correct, it does prematurely wear out the shocks. He has not had any problems yet and it is daily driven at least 400 miles a week.
Do you need to replace the shock when installing the new skunk2 spring and also what do u prepared coilovers or lowering spring thanks again man great content on your chanel wish your the best

Yes, you would need the spring compressor to put the oem springs back onto the strut though. It is impossible without that tool for the fronts. The rear will not need the compressor.
Jon Widmer thanks for the help Jon! Would any spring compressor do the job? Or does it have to be a specific one for the particular car make?
You can rent it at AutoZone. You pay about $55 plus tax, then you get a full refund when you are finished using the tool and return it to them.
Jon Widmer and lastly, is it difficult/expensive to sought the OEM springs? I'm buying the car (integra 05') off a mutual friend, and it's lowered to 2.5inch (which I wanna remove), but doesn't have the OEM springs anymore.
No, they should be pretty abundant as a lot of people have lowered these cars. You could probably find some between $60-80.
Yes, no issues. Camber was off but toe was set perfect!
good vid bro just got a fg4 the process should br the same right? and when the spring settled/broke in did the height change at all?
Yes, and it stayed the same pretty much. Not much settling.
+Jon Widmer nice bro looks good planing on putting work into my fg4 now that i got one
+Seiko Oner very cool!!
Did you have to change the shocks too or are they compatible to where they won't blow from the lower springs?? Please help I want these for my cars.
Your struts will wear out faster. I'd suggest saving for new shortened struts and the install both at the same time.
Garage Built Hondas what size alan wrench is used to tighten the top hat. Im about to install struts/springs in upcoming weeks
I do not recall, sorry!
What about rubbing? How's the comfort in daily driving compared to stock?
This car had zero issues. Slightly more harsh than stock not terrible at all thoug.
I know this spot! Good to see another Texan!
So i put these rear springs on my civic si and the rear coil springs are actually touching in the middle when it has a load on it. Iv never seen coil springs sit on each other like that and was curious if your looks like that too.
I do not recall. I did this for a friend and he sold the car a year later.
hey does the windshield wiper cowel/ area make it harder to remove the bolts for the top of the struts? did you take anything off to expose it or were you able to fit a wrench in there? thanks a lot
It is a little harder but I was able to use a regular wrench that had a small bend in it. A box end wrench would probably work very well.
Garage Built Hondas
Thank you
Is it same procedure for 9th gen base model
Yes, should be almost identical.
hey man idk if you will answer this after 5 years! but i have a question is all the steps the same on a 2013 coupe?
Yes
How much would you say it actually dropped? 1 inch? 2 inch? How are speed bumps now?
Check the skunk2 website, I believe it states how much drop these springs provide. I couldn't tell you, this wasn't my car. I just did the work for him.
Thanks for the videos, really helpful :) I got mine, but I heard that the lowering springs ruin the stock struts over time, is that true?
Yes, these springs aren't super low so you should still get some good life out of the shocks.
is the 4dr and the coupe have the same suspension set up. I know rate might differ but is install the same
Yes, same Install process!
ok thanks
Did u need some camber kits for the rear or it didnt need it? also after the install did u get it aligned? i have the same lowering springs and im about to put em on pretty soon.
No camber kit was used. The owner drove the car for about 10 months on these wheels and tires and the tires wore fine. +Jon Widmer ok thanks for the reply man. appreciate it.
Weird question, but did you have to put in shortened struts? And did you have to have your Si aligned when the job was done? I’m assuming you had to.
No, we re-used the OEM ones. The car was aligned afterwards.
hey i like ur video im planning to do the same ro my 2015 civic so get the skunk 2 lowering springs too but quik question if i get the lowering springs what size rim will fit my 15 si when its droped like that? will 18x8.5 fit or is it too big? im tryna get rims that i will not have to roll my fenders
Any problems or extra wear installing this with the OEM struts and shock?
You'll experience shortened shock life, but won't be drastic since it's a pretty conservative drop.
Dude thanks for getting back so quick. Im looking to do the same on my 2015 FB6. Do you recommend a camber kit for the front and rear then?
Absolutely! I'll handle better and help save tire wear.
Thanks for the help! Im considering this but after the price of the springs and camber kits for front and rear and potentially shocks I'm not sure and may go to coil overs
You'll still need a camber kit. Any lowering modification will create negative camber.
When putting the nut back on the strut, did yo put the allen wrench there just for support so it doesnt move? What size socket are you using to tighten the nut?
Yes, if I remember correctly it was a 14mm.
Garage Built Hondas okay thanks! Cant wait for my struts to arrive so I can finaly change it and actually have a decent suspension setup
It'll make the world of difference.
ive been wanting to lowered my car. but not that sure which one is good for my honda civic 2013. i like how lowered your car get. i dont like too lowered. any suggestion on which spring to get and brand? im on a budget too :)
These skunk2 are pretty inexpensive. Or some Eibach springs also. Most reputable brand name springs will have better quality than some generic and I wouldn't suggest getting a cheap set.
I have a question for you . Doesn't the spring make noise when u pasing a PAC whole or u feel the spring hit each other?
Not at all. Does it seem like yours is making a noise when the spring compresses?
Just wondering, did you buy a camber kit after installing the lowering springs? Is it even needed?
No, these aren't super low so the camber isn't too crazy. The car was aligned and it has been like this since the install of these springs.
what do you call that black thing on the front of your car ? is that a lip spoiler? may i ask if you got that from the dealer or somewhere else? makes the car look sporty.
Cooper Johnson Yes, it's a front lip from Procivic.com.
where they able to get the wheels back straight when aligning without any extra parts?
The car has not been aligned after I lowered it. With the new negative camber induced you will probably need a camber kit to get it aligned if there is too much negative camber. I've seen some shops align lowered cars without camber kits, and some places do not. I'm not sure what that depends on though per each different shop.
I have a 2013 passat and I was told by two garages that installing lower springs would take 7 hours. I also was quoted a price range from 450-930 dollars. I think all of that is a rip off I would like your opinion on it.

Okay thank you for the help.
Do you need to get a strut bar for the chassis and a wheel alignment after installing lowering springs??
Strut bar, no. But a wheel alignment is always a smart idea after lowering any vehicle.
did you buy camber arms? and if not, was there a noticeable amount of camber after you installed the springs??
No, there was just a normal amount since it wasn't a super low drop.
are those 35mm/35mm all over?
I don't know. Check the website for correct specs.
Great video. Have an Eibach Pro Kit on the way for my 2015 Si. Will certainly reference this. Cheers.
Vince McLaughlin Thanks Vince!!
Did you have to install rear camber arms
No, but it is recommend and we did shortly after
Garage Built Hondas can you tell me which control arms you bought. Im doing the same thing to my civic and im worried about the camber in the back
amzn.to/2XGAVfB
Any particular reason you didn't get new struts at the same time?
The car was less than 2 years old and less than 30,000 miles if I remember correctly. It was unnecessary.
@@GarageBuiltHondas mine has 75k miles so I was thinking about it
It might be smart to replace themsince you have quite a bit of miles.
@@GarageBuiltHondas I never habe looked into lowering a car, any particular reason you chose skunk2 over other brands?
This wasn't my car. I did the job for a friend. No reason, it's what he wanted.
do you have any update in regards to the camber wear? im thinking of purchasing these springs soon
He hasn't had any problems. I saw him 2 Friday's ago and we filmed a small video of his car. Tires are still wearing well.
+Jon Widmer thanks for the reply. i might have these installed tomorrow
ebp609si awesome, hope it goes smoothly!

did you need to compress the skunk2 springs to get the nut back on the top hat ?
No
im guessing this would change the camber on the front tires? no shims?
im looking at lowering my 2010 si
He hasn't used any shims or the camber bolts. I've looked at prices and they aren't too expensive for the camber bolts and the rear kit. He wants to get one and install it and properly get his car aligned and the camber set appropriately, but he has not had any problems and his tire wear hasn't been dramatically reduced.
I just installed mine and it sits higher in the front and they are all in correct position
Did you get the nut on top of the strut tightened all the way down?
How was the comfort after??
Did it effect the camber at all?
How did these springs hold up, any sagging in the rear after some time. Nice video
No issues, no sagging either.
looks good. is there those springs for my 2009 civic si?
Yes, they also make them for the 8th gen Civic also!
+Jon Widmer thanks
so i hear some popping but only in the left rear everything is tight, any ideas what i could be ?
I don't know, sorry. I don't own anything newer than my 2000 Civic and haven't messed with 8th and 9th gens much except for the 2 that I made videos of when I lowered them.
hey man I saw the Texas plates how far are you from Las cruces
I'm in El Paso, super close to you. And I live on the West side.
Would this be the same process for 2006-2011 civic si sedan? just bought some lowering megan springs
Charles Michael Yes, the sway bar mounting is different but that's it.
Do you know if he needed to add a rear camber kit? I'm hesitant of ordering my springs because i dont know if its needed
No, he has not installed a rear camber kit. He has been driving it for a few months now and has not had any problems.
what type of torque wrench are you using bro? a 1/2"?
Nice video where did you get the front spoiler /lip
He bought it from procivic.com.
9:00 makes it look sooo easy
Work on those quads man!
Wasup man. I have an civic 07 coupe and I’m lookin to get a lowering kit myself. My only issue is I was curious to know if u personally think those shocks were worth it. And do they ride smooth and how long till they should be replaced. Sorry bout all the questions this is my first car so I’m just tryin to treat her right😅
They rode great from what I felt but it was not my car. The owner only had the car for another year so I can't tell you about longevity of life.
Hey Jon I'm installing some Eibach sport lines on mine and when I try to unbolt the nut on the end link, the screw keeps spinning with the end link. What should I do
+Justin Tiu Vlogs Use a hex head socket (5mm if I remember correctly) along with a 14 mm wrench to get the nut removed.
+Jon Widmer so I didn't break the screw?
+Justin Tiu Vlogs I highly doubt it. The hex head will hold it in place while you can loosen it with the wrench.
My top hat isn’t seating on the spring and I can’t tighten it anymore. Causes rattling or clunking over rough roads any ideas how to fix this?
None. Best is to remove it and try again. You should be able to use a hex head socket and wrench to crank the nut down tighter.
what tool did you use to take the sway bar inlink off on the the rear
Hex head socket and wrench.
Isn't that arrow on top mount pointing towards front??? Correct me
I don't remember. Been a long time and I haven't worked on 8th and 9th gens since then.
Skunk2 lower than the d2 springs ? I’m thinking of going this route when I get my fb6 but with truhart struts
I don't think so. Skunk2 is meant for a slight drop.
New question. Would a 9th gen lowering springs for civic si fit and 8th gen civic si?
I don't know. Check the specs from the companies springs you're looking at.
On the rear, im having trouble putting the 1st bolt back on. The bolt that connects the shock tower. Any tips?
Which bolt? The only bolt for the rear that I can remember is the one that holds the bottom of the shock in place. On top there are a few nuts.
+Jon Widmer the bolt that holds the shock tower in place.
I haven't watched the video in forever. Could you give me the minute marker and I'll check?
+Jon Widmer i got it already man. Good looking tho
Alright cool!
If I don't have a electric impact gun and I'm not willing to shell out the money for one what would be a good alternative?
Get the set of hex head sockets. Maybe $10 for a full set. Those will work perfectly on top of the shock tower and the sway bar.
+Jon Widmer Awesome! Thanks for the timely response. I hope you have a great night!
+Velox You're welcome, good luck!!
I really want some of these for my 2014 civic ex. Would they be okay for that model?
Yes, they will work perfect!
Bro if I put some skunk 2lowering springs how long will it take before I have to change the struts? Or shocks?
There really is no set mileage. It all depends on driving conditions and abuse. It has been 5 months and he has no problems at all. He daily drives the car and it still rides great.
hey my rears are clink any idea what it could be? could it be the top mount or does the rear have to be seated in a certain way
Junior Pivaral Did you loosen the sway bar end links? Check those first, the same happened to a friend of ours.
Whats the ride quality like after springs...i wanna do this to my 03 accord
How much did it cost including the labour...?
Jon Widmer
The springs were only about $140 if I remember correctly. It's not difficult work but many shops will charge you an arm and a leg. I only charged my friend $100.
And the ride quality is very nice, these have a pretty soft spring rate.
Did you happen to hear any popping noises when turning the wheel at slow speed or at a stop?@Jon Widmer
No weird noises at all.
you have the same problem?
Angel Diaz Check the end links and make sure they are tightened completely. You may need an Allen wrench and a regular wrench to tighten them all the way.
+Jon Widmer i have the problem on front when i turn the wheel
same here with the eibach. thanks for the reply
What if I don't have an impact wrench to get the top nut off?
Box end wrench and hex bit socket will work.
Maybe a dumb question, would these lowering springs work on a 15 EX? Are SI and EX suspensions different?
I'm not sure. Check their website, they should listed compatible models.
@@GarageBuiltHondas Thank you!
what specific wheel and tire set up you're running with no rubbed issues?
That's all stock
can you just use the impact gun to put the nut back on the top hat?
rtb1487 I wouldn't suggest it. I've seen the impact gun snap the nut off and break the top of the strut. It's your call though.
Clean ass color way man! i wanted white but since i got one of the last ones d 2015 on the lot they only had black. its alrght tho :)
anyways, what do you or anyone else think about godspeed suspension?
I have a buddy who has it on his 91 Civic and he really likes it. The ride quality is good and it wasn't super expensive.
was there premature tire wear since you didnt have rear camber arms?
The car was aligned after the drop so it didn't have any issues. It'll probably wear quick if you don't have it aligned, and the camber kit would be the best option. The car is even lower now on Raceland coils since July so we'll see how that wears.
Garage Built Hondas are race land coilovers good for everyday use not going to track the it’s a 2008 civic si?
I personally wouldn't buy them. I've heard they wear out fast. I'd save your money and buy something more reputable. My friend didn't like this after too long.
Garage Built Hondas thanks so homes
I need help bro i cant take off the 14mm from the sway bar link i just tried it with the gun and it just doesn’t want to budge
You'll need a hex head socket and wrench then to remove it.
Garage Built Hondas Thanks bro ima try it rn 🙏🏻
Cool
Skunk2 Springs VS Eibach Sportline .... Which do you prefer? Please answer me, I would be very grateful.
I'd pick the Skunk2. Both rode similar but I like the settled drop on the skunk2 better.
I have 2014 si and that look sick Awesome. Job. But Skunk spring it 2.25 "at front and 2.00" in the back I'm. Just ask.
That is correct! I got the info from skunk2's website.
What front lip is that?
Procivic.com
Do you have any noise after you installed like when you turn de wheels or something?
No. Check your sway bar end links. That seems to be a problem because they are tightened all the way when reassembled.
Just installed lowering springs on mine about 2 weeks ago and started making a rubbery noise when turning the steering wheel. Any suggestions?
Just get under there and double check all the nuts/bolts you removed and reinstalled.
did you get a camber kit after you installed these springs?
No
Would skunk 2 lowering springs fit my 2015 civic Si I've seen them on the site but I don't see any 2015's with them on
Yes, they will work on all 9th gens. 2012-2015
If you do this, do you have to install a camber kit?
Yes, the camber kit helps prevent premature wear as it corrects the negative camber created by lowering the car.
What if you use an impact gun and the end the put the nut back on?
I tried, but the nut just kept spinning on the shaft. I replaced some struts on a 2008 civic 4 days ago and using the impact gun worked. You'll need to be careful tightening it though. I've broken the shaft before when the nut tightened down completely and it broke the threaded part right off the top of the strut shaft.
UPDATE! Using the impact gun worked on a 2008 civic that I recently changed the struts on. The taller OEM springs added more compression to the top hat and didn't allow the strut shaft to spin and the nut tightened up easily.
I mean instead of putting rr you put rl on rr?
hey bro im planning to get the same spring that you used, do u think it is a good spring for my 2013 si sedan?
Definitely!
okay thanks bro
