Great review. I like that you showed the product in use. I just ordered one for many of the same reasons you described. Your review helped justify the splurge. The key thing for me was how compact it is to keep in the trunk without impacting my cargo space.
The detergents at those places are pretty harsh on paint get some protection on it will help , go for a spray ceramic/wax , if the paint feels smooth when you run your hand over it your good to put it on if not you'll want to decontaminate wash it first
I use a DI vessel to rinse my car after the doing the mains water rinse after the wash. it's a de-ioniser that leaves no water spots. Window cleaners use these for rinsing the windows after cleaning them. the vessel cost me about £100 pre-filled with resin and I get around 2-3 months out of it washing it once a week. The resin in the vessel is about £100 for 25kg which will fill the 11litre vessel just over 2 times. A bit costly but I have an 8y rs3 saloon and want to minimise paint damage with drying.
yeah mainly because i wanted something small and portable that i can easily keep in the trunk and use for using after self washes i'm also planning to use it in the winter to clean snow off the car, and it'll come in really handy if i'm away from home and we get a big dump of snow while i'm out to dinner or something i also already had one battery because i've got a Ryobi lawn mower, so it just made more sense
For an 18v it put up a helluva battle. The s3 came out on top but maybe next time with some power mods the Ryobi will come out on top. Seriously though, why not just leaf blow like the rest of us?
I may need to start looking into forced induction for the Ryobi 😆 I ended up picking this up over a normal leaf blower though for a few reasons. I wanted something compact that I can keep in the trunk and bring to these touchless washes, I already had a battery because I’ve got a Ryobi lawn mower, and I’ve actually been getting some good use out of it inside the car with blowing dirt/crumbs out of cracks and crevices that my shop vac won’t get haha
@@A_Guy123 hahah as I mentioned though I do think it’s overkill (and a bit expensive) especially if you already have a leaf blower I didn’t have a leaf blower so it also doubles as my leaf blower, and it’s going to come in really handy in the winter as a portable snow remover with the car
I think in a fight between the Audi S3 and the Ryobi, the Audi is gonna win. Will update my comment on if I’m right or not 🙏🙏 Edit: I think I may have misinterpreted the title

thanks man! it’s surprisingly powerful for how small it is

thanks for the information! i'm trying to do as much as i can to maintain the paint on mine as well - i'll check it out!
Any reason not to use a normal leaf blower that would be more powerful?

hahaha can confirm, the s3 edged it out
