    - TT Mk1 V6: / h.rryaa
    It’s time for every generation of Audi TT to go head-to-head!
    So let’s see how these three generations compare. To start with, we have two editions of the Mk1 lining up. The first comes equipped with a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder turbo engine that can produce 240hp and 320Nm. It sends this power to all four wheels through a manual gearbox, and it weighs in at 1,416kg.
    The next Mk1 comes equipped with a much bigger engine, a 3.2-litre V6 no less! It’s therefore slightly up on power, producing 250hp and 320Nm, and its power is sent through an automatic gearbox to all four wheels. However, it’s also the heaviest car here, tipping the scales at 1,520kg.
    Then we have Mat in the Mk2 TT RS. It’s packing a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo under the bonnet, which can put down 340hp and 450Nm. It’s only equipped with a manual gearbox, but the power is sent to all four wheels, and the Mk2 weighs in at 1,450kg.
    Then finally we have the Mk3, and it’s the special-edition Iconic Edition TT RS no less! Just like the Mk2, it’s powered by a 2.5-litre 5-cylinder turbo engine, and it’s the most powerful car here, able to produce 400hp and 480Nm. It weighs in at 1,475kg, and the power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic gearbox.
    So will it be a clean sweep for the Mk3? Or could the Mk2 snatch it? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

    • @xIcarus227
      @xIcarus227 11 месяцев назад +6

      It's not under-appreciated, it's simply a niche car because it's in a weird spot. Coupes like these are either super fun to drive like a Cayman, or comfy and luxurious like an SLS.
      The TTRS is in a very weird middle ground where it doesn't do anything particularly well. It's not particularly exciting to drive, it's not particularly comfy either and while the interior quality is absolutely good, it lacks some very obvious options like memory and cooled seats which would make it a capable GT. It launches really well and the engine sounds intoxicating, but that's just about it.
      You could live with the above if the asking price was decent, but when you see that every other competitor is cheaper 9/10 people will look someplace else just like I did. A damn shame since I really like the car.

    • @raidden-1583
      @raidden-1583 3 месяца назад

      @@xIcarus227kinda disagree with your reasonning. Yes it's a niche spot that I agree, but it's not "in the middle that do nothing good".
      The tt is actualy a daily sportscar which does it's daily job perfectly well for two people max, and just adds a bit of sportivity.
      I owned an a4 and a currently own a tt. The tt isn't that much less comfortable than the a4. And if you compare it to another car its size, it's as if not more comfortable than most compacts on the market.
      This car is for people who are looking for a daily and who are willing to sacrifice their rear seats for that sportyness. This is the niche spot it is on. I tried a giulia recently which was the same price (used) as my TT, and it was a way worse daily driver.
      New, except if you're a fan of the 5cylinder and going for a ttrs, I agree tho that you'd better off with a cheap daily and another sportscar like an mx5.
      But used (i go my mk3 for 24k it had 57k km on it) it's currently one of the best choice of daily driver on the market rn for that budget.

    That was a perfect launch Matt, respect! The 3.2 does not look well looked after. Having your car on display being dirty and missing the Audi logo on the engine cover is a giveaway for the lackluster performance of the engine. I guess the spark plugs are the ones from delivery 20 years as well as the last service.
    We have a 225 Cabriolet and the tunability is off the charts. New turbo bypass valve and actuator valve, new downpipe and 300cpi metallic cat and you sit around 250-260hp with the turbo setting in at 1.800rpm for around 500€ of investment. Very nice engine, sounds really good for a four cylinder too!

      No, it is just an old, naturally aspirated engine. The old auto does not shift very fast and it has more losses to the wheels compared to the manual. Actually, I was expecting the difference in the drag race between the 3.2 and the 1.8T to be a lot bigger.

    • @veshtoran
      @veshtoran 11 месяцев назад +2

      @@neznam4149 idk I have the same engine but in an a6 and I don't have issues with getting it to a 100mph. The drag race is fair deal. More weight and only 10bhp more. But on the brake test the 3.2 was giving up when accelerating which wasn't normal.

    • @neznam4149
      @neznam4149 11 месяцев назад +2

      @veshtoran First of all, it is not the same engine. In the A6, the engine is 3.2FSI, direct injection, in the TT is 3.2i, multi-point indirect injection. Also, I don't think it had problems to get 100mph, it was just way slower than the others and they made it for the joke. Audi's naturally aspirated angines are slow.
