One of the things I like about the Mustang is that it is highly tunable. If you get the tune from Lund, a flex fuel tune is available allowing you to use E-85 or 93 octane. One of the nice things about that is you can run your car to empty, fill with E-85 and take it to the dragstrip, and then switch back to 93 octane when you want to use it as a daily. One of the nice things about the Mustang is that it takes well to E-85.

The best way to accelerate Scatpack / Hellcats while rolling is to hold down the downshift paddle for few seconds and let go then car gets into power band by dropping a few gears and then stab the throttle and see it fly.
I have the 10 speed in my Camaro and I can confirm it's buttery smooth. I love these head-to-head comparisons where you run both cars 👍🏾. Maybe a Mustang GT vs Camaro SS comparison next? Add the fact that the Mustang can handle on any on or off ramp at speed makes it an all around best bang for the buck fun car on a street race, roll race or in N.H. on the hilly twisty bits. It's just a ricer with 4 more cylinders. Although fairly impressive that ford is able to make power out of that tiny engine. I think it's fairly maxed out and not a whole lot left on the table for tuning. The transmission is basically keeping that engine in peak power every time it shifts so that's a benefit. But at the end of the day, it's 🍎to 🍊. Drove my buddies 13 5.0 with a manual and the whole time I was just waiting for the power to kick in and power sliding it was rather difficult as I had to be in first gear at 4k rpm to break the tires free. In my M6 challenger, 2nd gear at 20mph and it effortlessly slides around the turn with half the throttle. Each car couldn't be any more different
@@FreeRiderNeal not even close to maxed out... gen 3’s on E85 get to around 470-480 whp with cat delete and intake, and tune... they dyno around 410-420... fbo builds headers, mani, etc get around 500whp... And lets not even talk about boost... where the coyote really shines
@@FreeRiderNeal bruh you’re so delusional. After this video you finally know what a 5.0 can do. Even your scatpack cannot do shit. You need a hellcat to beat a mustang gt🤣
In drag mode Ford said that no torque is lost in shifts so I guess you can think of it like flat foot shifting that’s why it thumps during shift. I have a 3.15 diff with your tires and a dig in a drag mode and it chirps the wheels all the way up to 4th.
Not knocking your test at all, but what gear was in each car. I know the standard for the Mustang GT premium is 331. Keep em coming!!!
Both cars are great I never was a mustang fan but that 10spd and the coyote are now nice just wish the body looked better more muscle and tuff looking I feel it looks to sport/future look
Great test man you have the best of both world. It is a fair test because your challenger have a tune and cold-air kit or not, dodge have 75+hp and 70 TQ extra give or take.👏💪👍
That 10 speed is the same as the 8 speed in your hellcat as far as design goes with 2 more gears. Ford and Chevy both wanted these for the camaro and mustang the difference is the mustang has more rpm and was leading on the project than the camaro has less rpm with less top end than the mustang making it the ultimate highway roll car same reason many super car manufacturers take similar sized motors and turbo them with a fast rev and a high rev on a light body in fact the venom Gt one of the fastest production cars in the world is a 5.0 v8 4 valves per cylinder turbo. Very spot on though Ford is more of a sports car and dodge is more of a drag car made for low end unfortunately on the street it doesn’t help you to be that saucy in such low rpm because of traction issues on 2 wheels and no prep once into the higher hp number beyond stock. As far as strength goes I would imagine the one that has to shift the least amount of times and usually a bigger gear is a stronger gear so I’m gonna say the 8 speed is stronger than the 10 speed. Does anyone else disagree and if so why?
Great comparison! My buddy has a 2015 GT 435 hp. And another friend asked me if I would ever race him. And I said that the only way that my 2010 SRT8 would win is if he knocked tires off. But I did lay down a 4.9 zero to sixty today with wheelspin. So... Who knows until we do it.

@@jrrogersstang4696 I know what you mean. The most fun is definitely a manual. But if you want to be competitive, the auto is the way to go. If you’re just cruising around having fun, then stay manual. I’m getting older with knee problems, so auto it is for me.
@@justpray365 yes the 10 speed is a monster for racing..true
I love both but yes these new transmissions are incredible
Manual for me...I have a PP2 and going in a straight line is not my thing. I like hitting the real track.
Gotta get yourself an E85 tune for the Mustang! It's really amazing..
Just add a supercharger. 300 hp more than stock is bad ass.
@@scbird1 exactly. and nowadays you can get them with warranties!
I'd still give the edge to the Mustang but I think it would be closer than the Scat Pack due to their similar weight, and the Camaro is also quite aerodynamic.
Yes I would love to get that video soon 👍
I pick the camaro over mustang
@@djwilliams9842 I'd give my car the edge off the line for sure, but up top the 4 valves per cylinder on the coyote helps it breather better than the LT1.
@@GearheadK20C4 o ok but i was thinking bout putting a LT1 in my 85 camaro or lsx, and they also have a new LS7 out now. DK what 2do hard choices. smh
@@djwilliams9842 When I had my 18 Charger R/T, I was "racing" on the highway against a 5.0 Mustang. It was definitely hauling ass, but I've never been a Ford Man.
I own a Roush charged Mustang GT and my son has the 2020 Scat pack Charger. Both awesome cars. You can`t go wrong with either one. If it wasn`t for Covid this would be the best time of our lives to be a car guy.
Awesome video as usual 👍🏼🇺🇸
Don’t worry about the “sun in your face” it brings out the red in your beard! 🤷🏽♂️🤣🤣🤣🥂
Add the fact that the Mustang can handle on any on or off ramp at speed makes it an all around best bang for the buck fun car on a street race, roll race or in N.H. on the hilly twisty bits.
And If you own a mustang, pay the $1000 and get the Ford Performance Cold air intake kit with procal 4 tune ... it brings it up to 480 hp like the Bullitt. 87mm TB and air box upgrade.
It actually makes a nice difference in shifting too. In Sport mode + she shifts almost like track mode and the rev match downshifting on the 10R80 is mindboggling on and off an exit... the exhaust sounds exotic and bellows out. I dusted a Porsche Panamera S in a roll race 85 to 135 and pulled away with a huge smile .. that is not supposed to be happening and it just did ..
then I got a better tune and it revs out to 7800 and really comes alive
Love my Mustang...
Great comparison. Definitely bring on the 1/4-mile comparison and the SS!
💯💪🏾 but I'm pretty sure the Challenger will beat it in a drag race but then again I don't know.... depends on if you do a quarter mile or not
If it can get traction
Yes the quarter will be a drivers race I think
Both run around 11.8 to 12 in the 14 with the autos.
All depends on the tire
My brother hit the lottery. Bought a Carmax '12 Mustang GT Manual. At home found it had a 2018 Coyote Gen 3 crate motor in it. the owner must have died and the wife sold the car to Carmax.
Ford Motorsports confirmed serial numbers for built Transmission, Motor, carbon fiber Driveshaft, Exhaust and built rear end. Total sleeper with the VVT, at idle you can barely hear it. :D
Gaps Scats...looking for a hellcat to compare. Might find a run against a local Cop's racing group. Those guys are crazy lol.
I don't care who gets to the end first I have a 2017 s550 3.7 v6 and love it ill get in that car and drive for hours I love the look the way it handles and that motor come alive up top I won't trade it for anything I grew up to vetts and mustangs wanted a vett but can't afford one so I went with mustang
Great video... I hit the sub button💪🏾
Great video man.
Love your content. Had to subscribe.
Welcome to the channel my friend
Those 10 speeds are no joke, nothing to play around with.
Being in Dallas can I ask why you did not go with one of the 700 hp GT's from Joe Meyers in Houston. I am looking in to one later this yr. But curious if you considered it and if so why not go with one?
Really impressive numbers for the mustang.
I like these types of videos I just ordered a dragy for my car
Great vid as always sir! Appreciate you buddy
What gears in the mustang? Also, what does Mrs.X trap in the 1/8th out of curiosity?
40-140 where mustang reigns supreme
Love ur vids dude. So awesome.
Ur living my dream lol. To own all these awesome cars, review them, so great dude.
Question...when ur doing these speed comparisons...ever get pulled over by a cop or have you just been extremely lucky and not encountered any?
as a die hard mustang fan i must say the scat challengers and chargers look amazing, honestly all of dodges cars look amazing and perform well too i’ll be getting a dodge for my next car fersure, SRT jeep 🤷🏾♂️
Didn’t the 8 speed Camaro SS you tested already beat both of those times?
Definitely impressed with the Stang
Never been a huge Ford fan but you can't argue with those Coyotes and the 10R80 10spd!
Awesome content buddy 👍
Yes it most definitely favors the mustang. But I bet its a different story at the track
Well, not really if both are stock the 10 speed 5.0 has way better trap and E.T. Times
Whats way better??
I think it will be close
These new auto 5.0s are beasts from the factory. The scat paks are definitely strong running cars but you really gotta ride in the newer 5.0s to see what I mean. Even my 2017 manual 5.0 pulls like a train up top. Car has top end for days
@@jayhouse20 I meant just the trap speeds are usually way better for the 5.0 and mustang has edge In E.T. Still... but yeah close
@@jrvbamafan1 I have a 2016 , full bolt in with a gutted 18 manifold , Lund tune on e85. Up top my goodness, I would think my 60 to 130 is way faster than the test done with these cars.
Just purchased a Mustang mate and im super stoked
🤟🏽🤟🏽🤟🏽 great video X.
The Camaro SS are really fast. Especially In a 10 speed auto. I had an 8 speed and it did good. Have a few videos I don’t against an 10 speed SS and against 8 speed SS on drag radials. And raced my dad mustang 6 speed manual.
The mustang will always be better for top speed. Much better engine design. The 10 speed mustang trans is probably the best trans there is because every gear stays in it's power band. Ford knows what it's doing.
That's about what I thought would happen, but the Mustang winning margin of 1 1/2 seconds was a bit more than I would have expected ‼️💯 Need to match them in the 1/8 & 1/4 mile fo sure👍
I cant believe you had both of these cars and didnt do the actual roll race.
I have a cat delete, drop in filter with no tune.
And I beat almost every 10 speed mustang gt on a roll... I mean i dnu what you guys do in the U.S but I put it on track mode and do the shifting my self lol 😅
And btw we dont stop at 130 lol we go up to 150 mph
Great video and thanks for the information
Loving this channel, man. It’s so great to see someone who appreciates more than one brand and the nuances of each drivetrain. There are too many awesome cars out there to stick to one OEM. (I’m a Boss 302 owner about to swap an LS3 into my Roadmaster Wagon).
Also big thumbs up on staying away from traffic in, er, Mexico as well as your red Recaros in a Kona Blue (?) car.
Cheers.
You making me want a mustang now!🤦🏽♂️😂
oh ya ,, make the quarter mile Vid asap ,, im now a fan love ur vids of the mMUSTANGS THUS FAR...
👌
I have to say that mustang is a beast
Yeah I wouldn’t trade my Scatpack in for one .....but it’s pretty damn fast
Great video bro
Not knocking your test at all, but what gear was in each car. I know the standard for the Mustang GT premium is 331. I really think the best comparison for the Challenger scat pack is the Mustang GT with the PP1 and 10spd auto. That rear gear with the auto is the 3.55. Just a thought. Love your videos though. Keep em coming!!!
Both cars are great I never was a mustang fan but that 10spd and the coyote are now nice just wish the body looked better more muscle and tuff looking I feel it looks to sport/future look
Those 5.0s are monsters.
Certainly on the highway 👍
PP with 10 speed auto are sub 12 in the 1/4 mile.
Yes sir
Great test man you have the best of both world. It is a fair test because your challenger have a tune and cold-air kit or not, dodge have 75+hp and 70 TQ extra give or take.👏💪👍
Lol.....I appreciate you leaving in the clip of you forgetting the dragy!
You got to Mexico quick 😂
Yep .. right across the border from Texas 😎👍
If I were to hazard a guess, I'd say half of the time difference between the cars is simply aero related
