Yea its a bummer. Motor is an 86 but it had just had new heads put up on so it “was” fresh coolant. Very odd how dirty it is. Im thinking maybe fluid compatibility or some crap broke free while it was started up for the first time after sitting
Don't worry. It needs a good flush anyway. I suggest using the pressure from the garden hose to help push out any debris from the top hose...remove the thermostat before hand...good time to replace it anyway...make sure you don't forget to clean the heater core...when installing hopefully a properly sized new radiator make sure there aren't any spots where it is rubbing or parts sticking out to poke a hole in it...weirdly I've seen it happen and the customer was confused as to why his second new radiator leaked immediately...part of the original horn mount someone bent back and forth until it broke was stabbing it lol...also a great time to verify your cooling fans functionality and performance...if it's slow or sounds not well you might as well replace it they aren't super expensive anymore...good luck My Brother!
I appreciate the comment. Yea if you follow my channel you know its got all new parts (minus radiator/heater core). It sucks cause coolant was new but clearly there was gunk in there. Its ready for a good flush and hopefully can prevent this in the future! Good looking out though
What’s crazy is it had fresh anti freeze. Just did cylinder heads so coolant had been drained and refilled with antifreeze mix within last month or so. Im wondering if there was a compatibility issue.
The tough part is fitment. This one is 21” tall x 17” wide x 2.75” thick. In these early Comets and Falcons thats the max width unless you start cutting up the core support 😒. Definitely going to see what other options are out there though.
Uhhh... rust much... that block is dirty!!!

Look at the color of the anti freeze. Or lack of it. Rusty water hmmmm

I think you need something with a little more capacity...

Rust inhibitor dude! Anti freeze isn't just for cooling. 🤦♂️
