I always love those special moments in sports, such as when a rookie (or any pitcher for that matter) pitches a no hitter. The fact that pitchers are now being taken out with a no hitter going is one of the reasons why I don’t watch MLB anymore. Taking away a dream that a guy has had since little league is unforgivable.
Might still have gotten the win if we hadn't GIVEN them two runs, only to wind up losing by one. Failing to turn the first inning double play, and then Seiya muffing the line drive to right. But you're right about Justin. And the thing about him is that his style doesn't allow much room for error. He relies almost entirely on just two pitches, and he doesn't overpower you. If he leaves a pitch up in the zone, he isn't likely to get away with it.

Rowdy Tellez isn't getting better, but is it okay? It's likely that he'll be demoted to the minor leagues, and he'll probably get fired again... Do you think he can stay in the Pittsburgh Pirates?
There is no place for Rowdy on the team right now. He has been a major disappointment. Strikes out all the time and can't even bat guys in with sacrifice flies.

He's just in a slump. You guys are brutal. I hope he gets his mojo back soon. He's a smart base runner, and decent on defence. I personally am rooting for him to explode and lift his stats.
Just got back from this game, absolutely horrendous defense; Steele is clearly still not at his 100%, as I noticed that the stride in his windup is shorter than when he was healthy. He also did not do a very good job of pitch placement, as both of the game-defining homers that he gave up were on pitches that were located on hitters’ favorite parts of the plate: up and in, and literally right down the middle. Additionally, Steele was having issues with pitch velocity, likely due to his injury, which coupled with pitches located in the most dangerous parts of the zone, was a recipe for disaster. Overall though, I really enjoyed the game; Belli played well as usual, and I got to see a Happer homer! Go Cubs Go! We’ll get the next one!
Last time I was a Wrigley, Jody Davis was still playing, and there were no night games. But I was there in my Pirates swag fosho. First night game happened after we moved from Chicago to Naples. Talk about a culture shock. Lot of changes down here in 40yrs.
@damac5136 no problem! I peeped your comments on the channel and figured you may have a favorite team, but comment on many different games. Fan of the sport, student of the game- and I love that. So, figured I'd give you a deeper perspective on my team. And you're not wrong, Madrical's throw was too high and led to a worse inning. He is a good utility guy, but it cost us.
@@rolmodel12. Thanks! I'm basically getting caught up after taking a break for the longest time (due to having two daughters) after having quit a keeper fantasy league (after finally winning - 2011 was my last year as I recall). The highlights videos are allowing me to do so without sacrificing so much time (I can rarely watch live due to living in Europe). Anyway, I'm a Cardinals fan, and wish this Mozeliak guy didn't use roster-building strategies from the oughts under LaRussa. I found out through fantasy that young guys rule the roost. Of course, you need a mix, but this Cardinals organization has me jealous of everybody else's(!) young talent, including the Cubs. They better hope they get major return for Arenado and/or Contreras, because there is almost nothing in the cupboard after this Mo guy has run the ship into the ground. I watch the Rays, too, because I grew up in Tampa Bay, and their organization is fascinating as it is. The Yankees caught my eye this year because of the incredible dynamic Juan Soto brought them from Day One. Quite the transformation.
Man, the Buccos tried everything they could to give this one away, but still came through in the end. Nice win!

I fear we're in for some terrible baseball for quite a few years.
After all, Steele is not as useful as his ace pitcher, Imanaga. I want to see him pitch and the Cubs win.🤞
Imanaga can't pitch every game. Steele is very good, much younger, and is working back from injury.
