It’s nice to see the kids playing well. It’s been SO LONG since we had promising young talent, and hey they’re hanging tough overall too. SHOULD only get better and better. U take your lumps and it’s the kids but look around the league it’s how everyone is doing it. Young talent. Orioles, KC, Reds, Tigers etc. Even the defending National League champions are kids. It’s an actual positive sign for the future. Not saying it happens this year but man it’s nice to see

When the Cubs brought Mervis in to pitch (in the 8th), they were down 11, a deficit that's only ever been overcome 5 times. Knowing they were going to lose, the Cubs' just try to get the game over with, relievers are spared unnecessary risk of injury, and can take advantage of rest for future games.
