We can see Paul Skenes having a very bright future in MLB if he continues to have great performances like this one today.
i agree. while it can be a little frustrating as a viewer to see him keep getting pulled so early, it’s very good that he is getting pulled. they are developing him amazingly.

@Galaxynerd I think he's saying that it'd be better if he didn't have to throw that many so he could finish the game. Honestly, he probably could have had a complete game of it wasn't for the horrible umpire. Missed calls made him throw like 20 or 30 extra pitches.
@@rags15061 exactly. what i meant was not that I’m frustrated with the coaching staff for taking him out after the 6th, but I’m mad he threw so many, and that costed us from getting to see another 1 or 2 or even 3 more innings.
And yeah I can somewhat agree, the umps did do a horrible job and that costed him a ton of extra throws, but Skenes himself should get a little of the blame. Just a little!

Skenes is INTENSE
It’s intense to watch him and gotta be 10x more intense to face him, but he looks cold as ice on the mound. He even looks bored sometimes. I’m shocked he even gave a half second smile. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching him his past two starts.
His 4 seam looks like a cutter on top of the velo 😂 it has some run.
I gotta wonder if Skenes will be the first starting pitcher ever to record 21 strikeouts. Imagine him pitching against the White Sox this year 😳
Pat McAfee has already made a deal with Paul Skenes for 1 million dollars if Paul is able to break that record; in a 9 inning game. I believe it would be for a charity of Paul’s choosing if I remember correctly.

This would be a 'Cinderella' start for the kid if he wasn't in Pittsburgh - unless of course the owners wake up before they not only lose a team-full of young talent, but their brilliant GM Ben Cherington as well, and it all becomes just another flash-in-the-pan (if you could even call it that in the end).
As a Bucs fan since '69, and seeing all the success in the '70's, all I see now is more of the same.
Why? Because now, even though we've drastically improved the players on the team, the other half - coaching - has been left behind in the dust.

Almost Every top prospect pitcher have a good start in MLB, I hope He became a star but don’t jump in the bandwagon, MLB players and coaches are looking at him and the more he pitches more tape and info they will have in their hands to work agains him, remember the way he’s been praise now that he’s good and be patient with him when he gets humbled.

@@eamonkelley3811 There are very expensive medical staff who take care of players using advanced equipment. No one wants anyone to have a surgery.
I could see that happening. I hope it doesn't cause he's fun to watch. But I also feel like once he gets more established in the big leagues and as his workload increases, he'll probably dial back the velo so his arm doesn't fall off.
