I love how you just make friends everywhere you go. : ) You have such a kind and adventurous spirit! I loved learning about this beautiful city and was so happy to see the fudge shop with vegan fudge. I unfortunately became lactose intolerant over the past few years so to see places carrying vegan food and desserts makes me happy! ♥ Thank you for showing around such an incredible place! : )

This is the BEST video I have seen about Bath. I will be there in September, from Nashville, TN. Very, very excited. Still working on how to get there and where to stay. Eventually, I will be in Devon for 8 days. Oh, please do not worry your lovely self about those descending angels; none of that stuff is true; all religions are ancient, understandable attempts to understand our crazy world and to have comfort. No demon is going to get you! Thanks so much for this! Joey

My husband and I spent a week in England and two weeks in Italy on our honeymoon. We toured Bath as a day trip from our "base" in Burford along with several other sights in the area. While in Italy, we stayed a 2 minute walk away from the Ponte Vecchio in Florence. It was notable even to us that the two locations have a lot in common. I'm sorry not to have walked across the shop bridge in Bath, but I suppose it's a good reason to make a return visit!

Thank you, Sinead for highlighting/showing us around what is arguably, my favourite city (apart from London of course)! Around thirty-five years ago, I used to take day trips to bath with my parents on a regular basis, and me any my wife still regularly go there now as were only forty miles away. Back then, the Georgian limestone that you mentioned at around 8:49 that the city was built with, was covered in sulphur. The walls were black from top to bottom. Evidence of this can be seen on the water hospital (11:49). BaNES ultimately decided upon a huge clean up campaign, which. lasted around ten years. Because the limestone is what it is, specialist solvents had to be used, and, I think, made especially for the purposes order to protect and preserve the both the stone and the mortar that held it together! Not a good idea to have lumps of rock falling on passers-by :-)
It was such a shame you didn't get the the time to get to the Walcot end of bath, which is very hip and trendy for the younger generation (mark, secondhand clothes stores, bars/restaurants etc,.... you name it)! A clear illustration of what there is to do in this city !
If you're planning on visiting Bath for a few days, Please, do make time for a visit to the thermal spa (www.thermaebathspa.com). I took my wife there after she graduated, and the rooftop pool, even in December is lovley and warm! For those unaware, the whole building went over budget and was constantly n the local news here, and very nearly got pulled and lawyers got involved and was a complete nightmare! The three tenors (Pavarotti/Carreras/Domingo) gave a concert n the Royal crescent which you featured, and they were due to officially open the spa the day before, only to be greeted with a building site by a very red-faced mayor of Bath and other local dignitaries!
A great video, Sinead! Keep doing what you're doing!👍❤x

Wonderful tour, great pacing, and you have a lovely voice. I felt it was a little on the religious side in how one describes the building of the church as "the lord himself calling on the bishop" and for nonbelievers, this may feel off. Great job on this tour showing all of the prominent locations and relevant history of works in the museum, and the iconography of the Abbey.

I love Bath! I’ve been fortunate to have stayed at the Royal Crescent Hotel and it’s absolutely beautiful ❤

You mentioned a "main shopping street". What is the name of that street, if you have time. Thanks so much!!!!

I am very fortunate to live in Bath. They've ruined the Abbey, Before Covid it had fantastic old dark wood pews and looked magnificent. Not sure who OKed the loose cheap chairs but whoever it was needs sacking. It looks so cheap and nasty now. Should have had grade 1 listing on the inside. Not sure why it hasn't and why this has been allowed! Great informative video though 😊❤

Such a pity that the thermal spring water baths closed for the public in 1970. I wonder why..

Amazing but are you allowed to touch the water in the Bath 🛁

Not allowed I’m afraid too many harmful bacteria and chemicals in the water

I know I’m in minority of probably one, but I have spent a LOT of time in Bath and I find it rather ugly in the main, spooky and depressing. Mind you some of that might be caused by the rip off prices. I am glad I’m retired and will never have to go there again! Anyone else agree? No thought not. Mind you there’s a great Indian takeaway! Thanks for your efforts Sinead.

I really wanted to enjoy this video, but the audio was all over the place Her voice would go soft, so i'd turn up the volume, and then get hit by blaring music. Then that blurring between scenes... not good.
