Use a dremel, it does make a lil noise but your dog will let you know when you are nearing the vein, if you chomp to much off the nail and slice that vein in the nail your dog will bleed forever and never let you cut their nails again.
@@Anthony-te7lo very true, but we tried the dremmel before. And Nala genuinely will freak out over the noise lol and it makes it impossible to use. We usually just trim lightly off the top, and thankfully have gotten it down to a science now where they are cooperative long enough to finish❤️😭

No unless you actually clip them too deep and make them bleed. Best rule of thumb we use. Is we just trim lightly off the top if they get a little too long. But my dogs are very particular about their paws, they hate having their paws touched lol.

@@bigmanjapan3559 omg I totally feel that. My last rotty bless her soul she passed from old age. We HAD to take her to the vet. She genuinely wouldn’t let anyone touch her paws. We adopted her too. The vets always had to struggle to cut her nails.

Walk your dog daily on concrete it naturally files the nails so you would only need to trim the duclaw.

Why do people cut their dogs nails?
I don’t remember anyone doing that with their dogs growing up, yet it seems to be de rigour now.
I never once did it with my dog.. is that bad? The footpath seemed to keep them filed to a pretty reasonable length and dogs seem to really not like it.

So my 2 dogs nails grow pretty long to the point they bend when they walk on the ground. We’ve tried countless times to not cut them, but they usually end up walking in pain when they get too long, especially if they’re trying to play. So we cut them, our vet recommended we cut them when they get too long too. I wish we didn’t need to, that would be amazing lol😭
Gotta know what you doing while clipping dogs nails especially when they dont like it and already nervous about it if you slip up even a tiny bit you can get bitten really really bad.
very true. Luckily Nala's 4, Loki's 2. & they've gotten this good at letting us trim them since we've been careful. They will still let you know to hurry up and be careful lol.
@hawaiian_coco_ yup cause i tried to cut my pitt bul nails after watching a tutorial on RUclips but i don't think that was good enough lol cause when i tried it she gave me this mean twitching in her face showing her teeth that i never seen before i was scared as sht lmao But i knew she was telling me to stop i don't wanna hurt you. But later i went to pet smart and ask the groomer in there to show me live and in person how to clip the nails the right way imma damm professional now lol

I think the position you are forcing him to sit in doesn't help. It's sort of unnatural for a dog. Maybe let him sit on the floor and you sit near him/with contact while he gets his nails cut. (?) Just a thought.
@@faithtvonline 100%. We have to alternate usually between sitting and laying on the floor. They take turns being difficult with each position lol. We’ll show you guys how they do when we lay them down too.

Holding them in that position is very uncomfortable for them. They should be on the floor and then lift each paw to trim the nails.
we alternate between laying and them sitting up. At times they fuss and won't let us cut when laying, so we sit them up for less than a minute and they'll let us cut them. Collectively we've all got it down to a science. Also this is my dogs favorite position for cuddles and kisses believe it or not lol.
I love my pet but he is not my child.
I respect that lol to each they own.
Obviously this is a sensitive area and someone clipped him too low. Thats scary for a dog.

It’s taken us years to train them, & even gain their trust to cut them the way we do now, which now honestly lol it’s a breeze. But they are very animated, so they will express themselves and tell us to hurry up lol.

I wish they did. And we do walk them too. But their nails get super long to the point they curl at times. So we just try our best to do light trims over the top.
You do NOT allow that display of aggression to go unchecked. That is so dangerous particularly with that breed. That's dangerous for you and for anyone in the area. It can start small and become a huge problem down the road.
I totally agree. Honestly though we have some very personality filled dogs believe it or not lol. Both of them have been put through obedience training they’re very sweet especially with kids, they’re still not perfect. They just really love to talk I promise haha! I’m gonna be uploading more of them so you guys can see how much they talk lol!
