I saw the TT live in Ottawa Canada back in 1985 when I was 15 years old. They were simply amazing. I met them back stage and I was surprised at how gracious they all were. I was especially struck by Alannah Currie's good looks! One of my fondest 80s memories. Thank you Thompson Twins!
This song came on while I was in the grocery store during the strictest of COVID lockdowns and it was an absolute life saver! I was with difficulty trying to navigate the one-way aisle arrows (I forgot the eggs...fuck! Should I walk backwards? Do I have to leave and come back in again?) and was feeling lost in a dystopian present when I heard Doctor! Doctor! over the store's speakers and it immediately transported me back to 1984 and a sense of normalcy. The power of music! Thanks, Thompson Twins!!!
To those complaining about miming/lip synching etc....this show was Top of the Pops and very rarely allowed artists to sing/play live as they thought it would damage record sales as it would sound so different to the recorded version. Please watch this with that in mind. It wasn't just TT either...99% of artists in the 80's (except New Order...see Blue Monday...where they would only come on if they played live..record sales actually went down the next week!)

The actually didn't have the time for all the bands to do a sound check, easier to sing to prerecorded
