I think hoarding makeup was/may still be a cultural craze of the 2010s.
Clearly she also bought some of that makeup herself. I think a lot of people I know got carried away with all the RUclipsrs ranting and raving over products they used twice. Everyone had to have an item from every Mac collection. I myself have greatly paired down my makeup and drastically changed the way I think about buying it. I buy makeup on a as need basis and have it organized so I am aware of what I already have and don't buy duplicates.
Lady Q Agreed entirely! Recently it was just plain for me to see that those beauty gurus I was watching were really just a different style of infomercials. I have stopped watching alot of them and only a few smaller RUclipsrs
For people who have guilt with getting rid of excess items I would really recommend the book ' the life changing magic of tidying up ' . Really changes your perspective

Bea did a great job and it looked so cute and more calm afterwards, loved this! Although I kept screaming at the screen for her to get a Poshmark account and to sell the higher end products that weren't used or expired - she could even use that money to buy her sister a nice gift as a thank you, or use it for herself if her sister didn't mind her selling it off! The inner thrifty gal in me hated to see so much of it go to waste, but I guess you would call me a beauty product hoarder too ;) I'm trying!
Bruh I relate aye. I love going through my apartment at least once a year and selling heaps of stuff. The feeling of having that money, and the feeling of a tidier place, is such a reward.
tossing out expired products really is a good way to get rid of stuff you don't need. even though i don't believe you HAVE TO throw out makeup when it expired, i still use it if i love it, but it makes it so much easier to throw out something i wasn't into!
Make up rarely actually expires by these dates. I have lip products that are over a decade old and still fine and powder products that are as much as 3 decades old and they are seriously fine. I'm using them all up now. :) You'll know if your product is genuinely past it, especially oil based ones, as they will be obviously rancid smelling or, foe lippies, will have a peculiar taste or sensation.
I agree! I keep using my make up as long as it works. Why waste money and throw it away when it is still fine? I have 4 year old nail polish that I still use as I love the shade which has been discontinued, lots of organic makeup with short shelf life but still as good as new.
Definitely a fan of the organizing! It helps to see visual representations of it all! I would love to see a desk organization or kitchen, for Tupperware and such!
This made me so mad, like she doesn't even wear that much makeup!! The fact that she hordes these YSL lipsticks and tatcha setting sprays and doesn't even use them??? Does she know how expensive that is?????????

While I do agree with the fact that it's not fair that she doesn't fully appreciate all of the things she's hoarded, it says at the beginning of the video that most of the products are given to her by her sister who works in the beauty industry
Lauren Vargas lol I can't tell if you are kidding. The video said she gets this stuff from her sister, not her buying it. Also, the starving children are not gonna be able to eat the makeup.

People who hoard what they knowingly never use are most likely attached to the idea of what it represents. A makeup hoarder who doesn't wear makeup most likely wants to feel and be more feminine and beautiful.

I'm not sure but I do hoard makeup, it just never gets big amount-wise since my sister and mom use it. I buy it and use it once or twice and after weeks to months of it sitting my sister and mom use it or take it cause they like it. I was off put by them doing it at first but I saw a benefit in it and soon was okay with it, sometimes I miss the make up they use and just think of it as them borrowing it.
This inspired me to get rid of some of the hair and makeup products I don't use. I feel like I can think more clearly when I have fewer "things" cluttering my space.
That's so great! Getting rid of clutter is a perfect way to clear your head and destress. Glad it worked for you!

This is so me. I’m a manager at an ULTA. I had a make a problem before I started working there. I only worked there for a few months and have spent an out rages amount of money. I still don’t feel like I have everything that I want. But at least I have started to organize. I had to empty out an entire Drawer of my clothing drawers just for make up. The thing is I really do use it. I’m also not afraid to get rid of things that are done with. I would absolutely love to go through her collection though.

I'm not really a makeup/skincare hoarder since I got expose to minimalism at a very young age. So I can't really look at the things that I don't use on my shelf. I either gave it away or sell it. How I manage to have a capsule makeup/skincare (things that I actually need) is that everytime I wanted to buy one or two products, I will makesure I get rid of the number of products that I will replace. In that way I don't increase my items everytime I buy new things(including clothes)

My house is really clean & I live with 5 men but when it comes to my makeup room it’s totally different- it’s my getaway !! guys don’t even mess with me when I’m in my makeup room 💜 They are always buying me more so they are trained well lol 😂

Gift giving is stressful, but on occasion I have given cosmetic/skincare/bath and body gifts to my friends. This was all stuff that was new, unopened, and because I had so much of it, I was able to give things they actually liked. For example, I wouldn't gift a foundation in the wrong shade or an oily skin cleanser to someone with dry skin, but I had so many things that I was able to match the products to the person's likes and needs.
to anyone who is hoarding jus imagine you are going on a weekend getaway and you can only take your favorites, this really helps pair down
What about those of us that have a lot of makeup and don't want to get rid of it all... like it's not all expired or for gifts? we just need a better organization system as a renter. Also we're not willing to shell out hundreds for the acrylic cases that don't hold it all. I was hoping this would have more helpful tips for someone like that. Maybe this could be a future video

There's an organization that cleans the makeup and then gives it to homeless people. They send you a box and you put the makeup u dont want anymore in. 😊

Can u suggest it show us some tutorials for making smart space of our very own vanity ( dresser items to be kept). Easy to handle and smartly placed saving more space in the house and not purchasing a proper furniture for this.

Yeah no I'm a make up hoarder but I actually use a lot of make up. So for me there is joy in using the products which I thought was going to be her case when I clicked on the video
I was reading an article that the average women spends over 3200 a year on cosmetics and lotions and potions - I reevaluated what I bought this year, and I am happy to say I have spent less then 600 bucks - and this includes cosmetics, facial wash, perfume, and nail polish. Stop wasting your money and buy the essentials - and if you have skin problems, go see a dermatologist - I know several people who cut their spending habits after they scientifically addressed their skin issues! - so instead of spending over 3200 bucks of stuff you are not going to use - you spend 100 bucks to see a dermatologist, and cut your spending in half!

The only things I could see keeping more than a few of are nail polishes or lipsticks because they have so many colors, I would just only keep the ones I like to use more than once a month.

As somewhat of a makeup hoarder myself, I think it's fine to have a collection this size, but the fact that she barely uses any of it really bugs me - she could give away or even sell some of the stuff she'll never touch!

Why do you need to label products you can see??? Once you open those boxes you don't need to read "nail polish" to know what's stored there!

I understand makeup has a shelf life... But not nail polish. If stored correctly it can last way longer than 1 to 2 years. The chemicals in it prevents bacteria from growing and if it's closed tight, it will last indefinitely.
I always find it funny how makeup shopping addicts always look like they aren't wearing any makeup
