  • A compilation of closed pubs all in Keighley West Yorkshire, some of which were open for over a century. They sadly had to close due to various reasons its the same all over the country. This video takes a nostalgic look back at the lost pubs that were visited by generations of people over the decades

That was amazing! a really great video. It brought back to many memories. I had a stroke which wiped out my memory banks, so it was great to be reminded. I had been to all those pubs but until I saw your vid, they did not exist in my memory. The Black Horse had a reputation of violence. I only went in once and a full glass of beer was hurled at me. It hit another old fella in the face. I exited fast!

Such a shame. I grew up in Keighley and had visited all but two of the pubs mentioned. I don't get to come up much so I was unaware that some of the pubs had shut at all. I always remember that when we did the big shop on Saturday, my parents stopped for a swift half in The Burlington or Gardners on the way back from Morrisons. Sad times but great video

When I was 18 to 23, I used to play in a very competitive pool league, the Globe had a great team back then, our main rivals. Thanks for showing this video, I played in a lot of these great pubs but it’s a sad reality of the times, great video and great memories. Sending appreciation from Toronto.

My parents were licensees at the " Bulls Head." Market Street, when we lived there in the 50s. Now long gone to due town refurbishment. As I remember, it was Ramsdens brewery.....How Keighley has changed. Halcyon days.😊

@jonathanwood2737 I've a Newspaper cutting from the Keighley News, dated Sat May 21st 1955. " INNS OF THE PAST." Sites no longer known...History relating to licensed premises in Keighley area back to the seventeen hundreds.
Could possibly copy and paste to an e-mail if you're interested.

Nice video. I think of all these pubs The Cricketers was the most recent to close down. (Earlier this year perhaps? 2022) They did well to stick it out for years with that miserable looking bomb site behind them after plans for the new retail/leisure centre fell through. A real shame...

In the 70's my local was the Cross Inn, a Taylor's tied house in Heptonstall, so all our away games in the Taylor's games league were in the Keighley area. After wiping the floor with the Eastwood Tavern at darts, dominoes, and cribbage one night, I remember their team - eager to get *something* out of the fixture - asking if they could fight us in the car park. 😁

Will only get worse going out drinking is going out of fashion and isn't as popular with up and coming millennials.
