What if we rented trucks in the pass and still don't have a truck?
My audit is here and I just went RTD status so I’ve been not driving for the last 30 days…will they notice that in my clearinghouse or should I provide that as well?

So I’m at the point where I’m waiting for my dot number got the EIN and llc done bank as well but I already got hit with the audit email do I do it now even tho I’m waiting to rent a truck like you said wait till after the 21 days to get the truck and insurance then you do boc3 and other files so would I do it then? Or go get the truck and then do it after?
If you haven’t started your business yet there isn’t anything to audit. 😀

How long do we save these logs? Since the start?
Logs are automatically saved the moment you start driving. Everything is recorded inside of the Eld.
What if you rent trucks how does the audit work
The same as if you own it.

Question: Do you know if this safety audit also done with leasing a truck ? And does a box truck need to stop at weigh stations / I thought No due to being Under Weight. Only ( semi or hotshots) However I’m aware that DOT can pull you over to check for certain things such as Your Safety Equipment. ( in some states winter snow ❄️ chains for tires )

Safety Audit will kick toward your authority nearing it's first year active. Be on the look out. ✌🏿

Safety audit is for your company not the truck. You may be thinking about the DOT inspection. 2 different things.

I’m in Louisiana; just getting started! Who completes the vehicle inspection? Can I do so or do I need to go to a specific place?
Are you referring to the annual inspection? If so you can go to a Loves, Pilot shop or most commercial trucking companies to get the annual inspection done. But the safety audit is done by the FMCSA reps.

How long does it normally take somebody who just know the bare minimum of box trucks to get their business started from learning about the box truck, insurance,forming a llc and getting moc number, finding a truck and loading boards! I know everybody by different depends on the person but what's the main important learning information you need before starting up your business?

If you drive over 175 road miles going and coming yes.

Who’s the email from on the header?
I operate locally within 200 miles and don't go outside of my home state so I changed to Intrastate based on their recommendations in the new entrant email and did not have to do the new entry Audit.
Explain a little more so if your within 200 miles its ok??
@@jeffreybarrett8898 I'm not sure what you're asking but if you operate within your home state where your business is based out of and where you park your truck you can change to "Intrastate" verses interstate where you cross state lines. Being Intrastate will not require the new entry Audit from the FMCSA. You're still required to do everything else as far as insurance, ELD and generally everything that goes into having an authority but your just showing that you don't go outside of your state. I believe it can lower your insurance premium a bit aswell depending on who your insurance provider is.
Where do you switch from interstate to intrastate? Just call the fmca? I started going out of state but have narrowed it down to where I stay local
I learned about personal conveyance the hard way, during a level 3 inspection. He didn’t ding me on it because my authority was under 30 days new and cut me some slack. I was headed home 120 miles using it. I honestly didn’t understand when and how to use it at the time. I understand now😂😂😂
