Great info.
I decided to go with the Motive ELD because I hear good things about it. The product itself is great but the annoying part is that I couldn’t find it at any truck stops (I’m in Sacramento, CA).
I tried to purchase it off of their website but the best you can do is leave your number just so they can call you and try to sell everything else they have (dash cam, load board, dispatching, and much more).
With all that said, their support has been helpful for me. I installed it and they helped me connect it to the truck. They mentioned I could call 24/7 if I needed any help.

If you work for an employer that uses motive you should be Aware that live stream is available even if you're off duty.That just happened to me.I'm off duty on my personal time and the camera.Said live stream starting now then livestream ended over and over again.I contacted motive. Apparently they're okay with live streaming drivers at any time.They want you have no privacy anymore even on your own time.
Bad example at the beginning of fueling your truck as the law says you are on duty while fueling. If they check the time on your fuel receipt and you are logged off duty, that can be a hefty fine. That can be caught later on during an audit too.
I need help please. I can login to my account just fine, but how do I get the Blue “LOG” square to appear? I don’t have that so I can’t change my duty status. When I had the Keep Truckin app at my old job it was soo much easier. I’m just lost now and I can’t do any longer runs with my current job without this app working. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Yo Big Vic. Cool channel ! I'm about to buy a kenworth. I'm wondering if I need a log to drive it home, or to take family for a ride, or to get stuff put on it, Luke APU. etc.
You should be fine just driving it home. And using it for personal use. Just make sure it's insured. Once the company name and numbers hit the side of it. That may change things.

Sounds like someone who doesn’t know what they are doing! Motive is one of the largest ELd companies.
Do you only use the eld when driving to get a load and hauling the load right ? Or it stays on regardless thru your whole shift

The capability is built in it. Yes. If you are non cdl you don't have to report IFTA.

Hey Vic!! If Im otw to pick up a load less than 150 miles away, do I only turn on the ELD if the drop off is over 150-miles or before I leave to pick it up if the total miles are over 150 to pick up and deliver?

You can make over $50,000 running local loads in the Midwest.

It's like 260 weekdays in a year. If you make 500 a day that easily 100k gross a year with 30 days off for breakdowns and slow days. I would supplement the weekends for moving refrigerators, appliances, even junk removal. Gotta survive this upcoming stretch.
Why do box trucks get 60hrs but semis get 70

@A Jack just because you can doesn't mean you should.
Taking it to the mechanic is considered working and should be logged as such, just like if you're fixing something on your truck, you should be on duty.
@@ajack226 I’m sorry..when I said “can’t” I meant “can’t legally”….I was told that by DOT officer. It’s also how I found out that I can legally sleep in a truck without a sleeper. I like to get my info at the weigh stations.

@reunionxl the law is also up to private interpretation by the officer you're dealing with. Not legitimately! But the reality is any officer can interpret things differently and this happens every day.

150 air miles is 175 highway miles.
Be careful with Motive becouse they don't say nothing about 36 months contract agreement.
Later if you have 20 ELDs and you have only 5 trucks,,,, Motive will tell you must pay for 20 trucks ELD for 36 months.
Very bad company trying to keep customers on very dirty way.
I will go on the court with Motive and will stop using their service.
Be careful with Motive becouse they don't say you nothing about 36 MONTHS contract!!!

Why is it USA 60hour/ 7day. I thought you could drive 11 hours a day and had to rest for 10 hours. Im confused.

@@beezytalkingshit9319 varies from load to load. Some have appointments most don’t. Some have an open window of time to deliver. ✌🏾
