    I just finished this sweater and it looks and fits just like your photos! I substituted Lion Brand Truboo yarn, which has a nice drape. I used a 5.5mm hook to match the gauge, and it took 4.5 skeins to make size small. It’s such an elegantly simple pattern and yet so flattering - thank you so much for sharing this!!

      @@rachelraye285 Not sure if you’re asking me or Katerina, but I did not. After washing, I found out that the Truboo yarn becomes very heavy when wet and stretches out too much, even with flat drying. My sweater grew quite a bit. I re-wet it and put it in the dryer on low for 15 min and that seemed to help a bit. I’m thinking of adding a line of slipstitches along the collar to prevent it from stretching out too much during wearing.

    Hello
    I am a bit confused. Do you do the increase in the turning chain? And do the turningchain count as a stich?

    • @ByKaterinaDesigns
      @ByKaterinaDesigns  2 года назад

      You can work both ways: if you work a stitch into the turning chain, then the turning chain counts as a stitch. If you work a separate turning chain from the first stitch and don't work into the turning chain, this doesn't count as a stitch.

    I am currently making this but following your written pattern. In the video I think you are only doing 11 rows without increase for the armhole, but in the pattern you are doing 14? Seeing as I think I will do a ribbed end to the sleeve I am probably better off doing an even number here? Also, in the written pattern you decrease with 1hdc in first st, hdc2tog in next 2sts but in the video you do 2sctog - because I increased using 1hdc in next st, 2hdc in next st from the written front pattern, am I better following the decrease in the written pattern rather than the video? I am loving the simplicity of the pattern!

    • @ByKaterinaDesigns
      @ByKaterinaDesigns  11 месяцев назад

      Hey! The written pattern was updated a couple of years ago and unfortunately, I wasn't able to update the video as well. The video should be followed as guidance. The number of rows for the sleeves depends on how wide you want the sleeve opening to be. If you want to make a ribbing will be easier to have an even number. With the increases and decreases, in the written pattern I left the edges as a selvedge stitch because I find it easier with sewing. But any method will work.

    I have a small question.. can I make this with regular worsted weight #4 ? Yarn.. I am a size lg 😃 what size hooks would you recommend and if the foundation chain the same? As what you are doing now? Thank you 💕

    • @fidnielsen
      @fidnielsen 6 лет назад

      Maria Rivera hi aria, I'm from Europe and the answer to your question is in my opinion is to use light worsted yarn which uses a 4mm hook, (there are needle/hook conversion charts online for US, AUSTRALIA JAPAN etc.) but this lady is suggesting that we use a larger hook, I hope this helps. 💗

    I just found you on pinterest. You have a fall colors dress and it is NICE! Is the bottom done the same way as the top?

    • @ByKaterinaDesigns
      @ByKaterinaDesigns  2 года назад

      For the dress you make the top the same and then for the skirt you rejoin yarn and work in the round

    If I'm using a thicker yarn ,do I still have to do the 40 rows or would I do half that amount ?
    Thank you

    • @ByKaterinaDesigns
      @ByKaterinaDesigns  5 лет назад +3

      you have to compare gauge. I had 11 rows for 10 cm. If you have for example 5 rows per 10 cm, that means that the proportion is 11/5 = 2.2. And you will have to divide the number of rows from the pattern to 2.2. You can apply the same method for the sts gauge.
      Or you can make your gauge and verify the measurement in cm or inches that is in the written pattern. Then you will know how many rounds you have to make to reach the length

    I’m a little bit confused… Your written pattern says to do a HDC in the first stitch and then do 2 HDC to increase in the next stitch but in the video it looks like you’re just doing the 2 HDC increase right in the first and last stitch and not doing a single HDC first?? Forgive me if I’m seeing it wrong or reading it wrong, as I’m somewhat new to crochet. I just don’t want to get too far into this pattern and realize I’m doing it wrong. Thank you!

    • @ByKaterinaDesigns
      @ByKaterinaDesigns  Год назад

      Hi Linz! Sorry for confusing you. The written pattern was updated and increased into the second and second to the last st just because I realized the seaming looks better. You can do it either way. The important thing is to increase the edges.
