@@mylink.orb17 agree. Bullys are the most insecure scared people ever.
I've realized that there issue's they despise in others is either their jealous because they lack something they see in you or someone bullied or intimadated them and they pass that feeling it gave them to another thinking it no longer exists. But 🤔 it does.
It's not what you lack. It's all about being okay with it and owning it.
Not to please others but to open yourself up to the possibilities of growth, knowledge and understanding .
Because if you can or if you can't.
The only person that matters is you. Not anybody else. Let them worry about their own issues. Your too busy with your growth of self.
If You're good or if you bad. That does not define you. You are mush more than what you can do.

This video helped so much. My daughter suffers from generalized and separation anxiety due to her father kidnapping her when she was 4 years old. She was completely normal when she returned home until she was 7 years old (in Jan. 2016). Her friend asked her on the bus if she saw the news because there were two men in our neighborhood kidnapping children in a red or white truck. Even though her friend had the story completely wrong, my daughter became very fearful of men and red and white trucks.
Her fear robbed her of living a normal life where she can’t be *anywhere* by herself. If she wants a snack, or has to use the restroom, etc. Me or her little brother has to be with her. Her fear grew into hearing sounds and seeing things that weren’t there. Her psychiatrist confirmed that her trauma stemmed from the word “kidnapping” since she actually experienced it, and considering the fact that she was fine until she had that convo on the bus.
My daughter has been going through this fear for 3 years last month. She will be 11 on February 9th and is concerned that she will not overcome this fear. I’ve suffered from panic phobia and agoraphobia for 3 years when my kids were babies. My daughter thought that her fear would only last 3 years because that’s how long my lasted. She has had four therapists and countless medicine that have not worked. (The medicine was a last resort since they freak me out, especially for a child lol) I came to a realization that maybe the meds didn’t work because they all started off on the lowest dosage to see how she’d do. All they did was make her stomach hurt, so her provider would start her on a new one. She’s only switched therapists due to my car not being reliable, and my work schedule changing frequently (not being able to make every appointment). Not to mention, her and I not being big fans of the therapists she’s had. Thanks to this video, I now know the right questions to ask.

Carlita Washington oh dear, that is just awful. I’m so sorry but you’re such a good Mom for validating this and getting her help. That is so important! I didn’t have the same supportive Mother. I had a similar situation when I was a toddler. I was sexually abused by my father. He threatened to kill my mother and spent the next 12 or so years threatening to ‘find us’. We moved a lot, changed our names and my sister and I always lived in fear of men, even ones in authority like doctors or police officers. I was in so much fear for my whole childhood, had nightmares and severe anxiety just like your daughter. By the time I got to my teenage years, I developed social anxiety, had fainting spells, migraines and vision loss - even vomiting when I had to go to a social function. Over the years this has now developed to the point of being 35 years old, suicidal and severely depressed. The trauma has severely disrupted my life. I don’t want to alarm you but thought to share my story so you can get hopefully a little more insight to how your child maybe feeling. Please take good care of your daughter and ensure she continues treatment. You’re a good mom, I can tell. Keep being awesome. She needs you.

@@rachelblackwell5207 Oh my gosh Rachel! That is awful! I am just now seeing your message for some reason. I will be praying for your recovery as we are strong believers in Christ. I hate you had to experience this and are still struggling with trauma 💔 I’ve suffered from fainting spells since I was 5 years old and still don’t know what causes them. I didn’t know that could be the cause of trauma until you mentioned it. I don’t know if this will help but since I had agoraphobia, I was scared to go inside of a building to seek professional help. So I posted Bible scriptures around my room so that when I woke up in the morning, the first thing I saw was positive messages to reassure my scary thoughts. I have been where you are and begged God to kill me. I was too scared to commit suicide but I wanted to die. As time went on, I kept repeating those scriptures. One of my favorite starts with, “Things that are lovely, pure, and of good report, I think on these things.” I had to pretend like I wasn’t suffering mentally in order to reverse my negative thoughts that triggered panic attacks. I was the true definition of “Fake it until you make it” and it worked! I hated the way I healed but I was able to eat, sleep, and ride in cars again. Also, practicing the breathing exercises such as: Inhaling through your nose for 2 seconds (counting 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi) then exhaling for 4 seconds through your mouth counting the same way. Another way of breathing was inhaling for those 2 seconds and holding your breath, then exhaling for 4 seconds. Also another tip, is when you begin to panic, refocus your mind on your surroundings, such as: “I have on a blue shirt. I’m sitting on the couch. The walls are white”...etc. I didn’t mean to make this into a novel but I truly want to snatch this devastation from anyone who suffers from this. Please feel free to DM me your number if you ever want to talk. I know I don’t know you, but I feel like I love you 🤟 Thank you so much for your kind words. I needed that reminder of being a good mother 😘

I think the low rate of interviewing doctors before handing kids off is due to two main things: 1) Insurance. Many people have no health insurance coverage for mental health, and those that do have it may only have 1 or 2 providers to choose from. In which case choosing comes down to business hours and location more than anything. 2) we've been taught to believe that we aren't allowed to interview these providers. That doing so is insulting and or questions their ability to do their job.

I do take issue with some of the things this person is saying. Parents are spending less and less time with their children and children are not getting the sleep that they need. These things can affect a child’s experience of feeling unsafe and anxiety. I work with children and I see a direct correlation between lack of routine, schedule, (which affects quality of sleep) and lack of quality time with kids and anxiety in children. Sometimes the only advocates children have is the people taking care of them which is childcare workers and teachers....not parents. If you look at the statistics of how much time parents are spending with children it is very eye opening.

Oh my, you really have to understand the confusion and stress that most parents have been facing. Yes they "should" be asking questions but your reaction is so strong that it feels like a "put down" that they don't. They are expecting you to guide them through the process. I never found reliable information about where to start. So others may not have been able to find that either.

    • @mylink.orb17
      @mylink.orb17 2 года назад

What are you talking about? What's a put down?
Why would anyone expect a stranger on the internet to guide them through something so personal and important? That's what actual face to face doctors are for.
You never found reliable info about where to start?? Probably why they stressed the importance of actually ASKING questions.
Put your perceived put-downs aside and find out what the child needs.

I think talking treatments and teaching kids how to understand and deal with their emotions is a lot better use of the therapist and parents time and money

I’ve had anxiety disorders since i was a child. I wasn’t diagnosed until i was in my early 20s and that’s my childhood and teen years I’ll never get back thinking i was a freak or weird when it really had an explanation. Children can be mentally ill just as easily as they can get cancer or diabetes and education in parents is key to making sure they are heard and treated properly from an early age. I’d give anything to go back to 20 years ago and get diagnosed instead of having to wonder what was wrong with me my whole life
