  • One Easy Way to Tell the Difference Between Fear and Intuition is to use your feeling function instead of your thinking function to decide if it’s fear pushing you to do something, or that small still voice within that will never steer you wrong. Unfortunately, even for people are who are naturally intuitive, it can be very difficult to tell the difference. This is particularly tough for writers. For instance, many writers might push their character to take a certain step in the timeline of their story and convince themselves that this is intuitively the right way for the story to go. However, it is really the writer acting out of fear because they don’t believe that they are making progress fast enough with their story, so they are trying to push the character along in order to soothe themselves and stay in control. Intuition, in contrast, almost always asks us to let go of control and to trust intuition to lead us where it may. For writers, this can be hard to do, but if they are able to do it, they can then rediscover the magic in their writing and produce much greater work. A basic place to start when learning this process is to learn how to tell the difference between intuition and fear, and it’s actually easier than you think. Tune into this video to learn how you can tell the difference, and you’ll have a much easier time listening to your intuition and not falling prey to the voice of fear in your writing, and in your everyday life.

Sooo....Fear is dynamic and almost always visceral.
And intuition is ...A whisper that can become a voice...Or as is commonly accepted,
a thought. Whether or not we entertain this thought , or let it float along in that river
of mental noise, is another matter.
There was a great line in the Bagger Vance film, " Learning how to sleep with your eyes
opened". There is a dream-like quality to intuition, in that a message or observation can
take the form of a vignette or familiar encounter or even a symbol of some kind that can
invoke a connection to something pertinent. Developing intuition can mean learning to
pay attention to these subtleties...And, like dream interpretation, a rapport develops
between your conscious and unconcious ...and then...be ready for the magic of
    synchronicity!

Actually, I get a feeling of dread when my intuition gets working. It doesn't last long, but it's like a sudden weight that drops in my chest or gut, especially if it's something bad.

I get that feeling, when I know the intuition means I have to change something I don't want to change, or let go of something..or someone :(

I’m absolutely petrified. I simply just cannot tell the difference between premonition and paranoia in this moment. I’ll get better soon but god I’m suffering

Always write down your intuitions and put it in your purse or wallet and deal with it after fear passes

Fear will tell you what you want to hear vs. what you need to hear
