      Thanks guys, I prob get about 4 hours of footage on a long weekend and out of that I have approx 2 hours of action. I can generally get about 4 or 5 clips around 10 to 15 minutes long to post up. We only go out approx 3 times a year so this is why I try and space out the clips. Not to mention forgetting to turn on the camera when the action starts but I am better at videoing than Steve as he always forgets to turn on his camera or he forgets that it is on and he has 3 hours of nothing, Ha.
      The adler gets to come along each time when I have a quad to myself so hopefully next trip I will have more of the shotty laying them out.

    Here's a business idea for you Stu. I have always been impressed with the number of feral pigs that Australia has. I reckon this is a combination of ideal habitat, ample food, vast expanses of land, and low pressure from hunters. Here's my idea: Partner with some land owner and actually encourage the pigs to multiply. Put out food for them. Keep other hunters out for a year or two and just let the buggers explode in population. Technically 4 pigs (2 male/2 female) having 16 offspring apiece every 6 months can become about 300 pigs in 1 year. So you partner with some landowner who has about a million acres of land and is having trouble growing sorghum or whatever. You let the pigs breed naturally until they are just running over the place like mice. Don't tell others you're encouraging the pigs to multiply but just let nature take its course. Then you offer guided wild pig hunts to people (all accommodations included) and promote the business with your RUclips channel. Have so many pigs running across the place that every hunter who comes there is experiencing shooting action unlike anything they've ever experienced before with a big game animal. Soon people are going back to Kansas or Melbourne or London and talking about a "pig behind every tree." To add to the experience you make videos of their hunts to give them as a memento of their vacation Down Under. Some of the clips could be put on RUclips if they're especially exciting. Make the entire experience one in which all the client has to do is make it to Sydney. You even pick them up from the airpot. I mean ALL accommodations are covered by your end. They just have to get to Australia. You can schedule multiple trips at one time. You aren't promising to go out and hold their hands everyday. Greet them, hunt with them the first half day, and then leave someone else to act as guide as you meet another group. At night sit around with them and tell stories and recount the days adventures like you and Steve do around the fire. You could probably realistically handle 50 hunters a month fairly easily and many more if you had enough land available and helpers. If each hunter is paying several thousand dollars and your only expense is ammunition, licensing, meals, and a bed in a hut somewhere the potential for a business to be successful is almost assured. The landowner will need to get a gig cut but they do zero work so you should find a willing partner.. There would have to be a solid contract drawn up and signed releasing you and the property owner from any liability but that's 3 hours in a lawyers office and is fully binding unless you really screw up and shoot someone or crash into them with an ATV and are responsible by negligence. That won't happen because a mishap like that won't ever be allowed to occur. I taught flying lessons for years and there were about a thousand things that could go wrong BUT if the student made it back alive after every lesson you were virtually assured of never having a problem. There was some risk of course but it was manageable. Then you hire me to come help as a guide and I shoot up all the pigs in the first year and everything collapses......Just an idea. 😊

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  4 года назад +2

      Good idea mate but there is an old saying not to turn you pleasure into work as it soon becomes work and not pleasure. I'm happy the way things are mate. However, I do like the last part where you come over and we show you a good time hunting from a kayak that I can lend you. I would show you a map but you cant get lost as the billabong is approx 5km long and not very wide so all you have to do it take a packed luch and a few refreshments and spend a day slaying big boars on the bank.

      @@HuntingwithStu Thanks Stu and I'll definitely come over for a hunt sometime when things return to normal. Went to W.A. is 1985 and Sydney in 1987 while in the military. Time to return! And the offer will always stand for you coming here to Florida but as mentioned you'll not encounter game like in your neck of the woods. We have wild pigs but it's tough going sometimes. Still, there's a lot to do in Florida besides pig hunting so I guarantee you'd have fun. Turning your hobby into a job would certainly take some of the fun out of it and if you are happy I'd say keep everything as is. We only have so many years before the long dirt nap and it's important to do what we like rather than always thinking about money. One other idea I had that I forgot to mention was using a drone. The terrain you're in would work well for aerial reconnaissance and make some exciting clips. Also congratulations on your explosion in subscribers. Holly Cow! Over 106,000....can I get an autographed picture of us together when I come over? You're getting famous.

    Phenomenal hunting Stu! I wanna do a Hog hunt in Australia with the wife (She's from Australia) some time later on this year. Ironically, we'll be going on a Hog Hunt in US State of Kentucky in about a Month.
    We'll be using 3 different Firearms; A 12 Guage Mossberg 590A1, a Winchester 1892 Lever Action in .357 Magnum, and my Pop-Pop's (My maternal-side Grandfather's) M1903A3 Springfield that he brought back with him from World War 2, in .30-06 of course (like your Ruger).
    Hopefully I'll be bringing that M1903A3 "Down Under" later this year. 👍

Ya mates riding his wheeler as back stop to your rounds had you shot You are pulling the trigger with no round in the chamber then Old mate is doodling round all ova the shop cos he lost his fucking gun! I was pissing myself thought it was some comedy spoof vid for a laugh but NO! you guys were doing ya best which means ya lucky to both make it home uninjured and not getting 1 of ya bikes and guns stolen by a Boar! LOL
    My Favourite spot is Noonkanbah Station Kimberley near Fitzroy Crossing (the Fitzroy river runs through the station) You can bag 30-40 pigs a day easily out the window of the Landcruiser with ya fridge of Coldies and even Air/con.
    You have to know the Aboriginals personally to even get on the land and even wealthy hunters cant buy their way on to the land and if someone finds out you can shoot out there anytime you want they will be buying you drinks at the pub all night sucking up to you such is the reputation of the hunting out there.

    I'd use garlic salt....those grinder versions....same thing here, they don't seal properly, even in your kitchen the humidity from cooking will turn into a salt block.
    Our version of your end there is called....Oregon....people flock to the high desert to see the constellations/stars and avoid "light pollution" from urban/city areas, see meteor showers.

    I’ve noticed in all of your vids that down in Australia the pigs don’t run as fast as the ones that we have here in Texas. Am I the only one who has noticed this?

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  5 лет назад

      Not sure mate. They do run fast but we like to keep a little distance so that makes them less likely to speed off.

    You may have mentioned this in other videos, but what action camera do you use? I think I saw your mate Stu carrying a Sony - do you use them for the optical stabilisation? BTW, highly entertaining videos and incredible snap shooting! It constantly amazes me how many dead pigs are on the ground after one of your encounters!

      Thanks mate, yes Steve and I use a sony action cam. I reckon they are better than the gopros. The angle is like a first person shooter as I have it on a headband on the side of my head. Yes we do account for a lot of pigs over a hunt mate.

    • @RyanMaki
      @RyanMaki 6 лет назад

      What range are you usually shooting them at with the rifle? It's hard to tell with the wide angle.

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  6 лет назад +5

      It varies mate but generally the running shots are between 50 and 100m. Off the quad is only approx 10 to 20m. Every now and then I take a shot out to 250 300m.

    Looks very dry there stu, here in Queensland the west has had some good rain, and just wondering, is there wild goats on the property?, not that I'm a fan of shooting them, they scream like a kid crying, and many rabbit and foxes to spotlight?.

    is it a kolpin gun boot?
    I know tye attaching hardware for some of the rubber coated fork type holders give up the ghost over time.
    I was going to use high pressure poly pipe to male a mounting sleeve for the kolpin gun boot I have. much cheaper and sturdier than the factory one.
    your mate is lucky he found his rifle!
    thanks for the reply.

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  6 лет назад

      Yes I think it is a kolpin gun boot mate. It is Steve's setup so I'll have to take note of how it is setup. Yes that rifle fell off within a 50m spot and it took us 30mins to find!

      Hunting with Stu I thought Australia banned guns?

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  6 лет назад

      No mate they just tightened up the laws. There was a big 'buy back' where heaps of people gave in their guns and were paid for them. I had to hand in a pump action riot gun with a short barrel and with the money that they gave me I bought the 30/06!

      Steve doesn't have a channel yet mate and yes I do miss the odd pig, however, there was a pig in this clip where the shots went straight through him twice and looked like I missed but he just didn't know that he was dead on his feet.

    Hey stupid question the spray bottle what’s in it just water for wind direction or something else n also what do u bring on your quad

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  6 лет назад

      Not sure what the spray bottle on Steves bike is for mate. I think it is empty so it must be for when he is using the quad at home and not hunting. I take the 30/06 and the shotty with a couple of litres of water mate. I normally take approx 30 rounds of 30/06 and about the same in shotty shells. We are out early morning for approx 4 to 5 hrs then again for 4 to 5 hrs in the arvo. Nothing to eat as we don't stop unless we are counting downed pigs.

    So what is the reason you use a rifle in I'm guessing 30-06 verses a 12 gauge?

    • @HuntingwithStu
      @HuntingwithStu  6 лет назад +1

      The rifle is used for most of the shots in the open especially if it is a bit rough going or we hit a fence. The shotty is also good off the quad especially sitting on with Steve but it is best walking through the thick stuff which is too close in for the scoped rifle.
