I been watching these videos for some time now. Hasn't Stu got some famous expressions? My favourites include "We sorted them out!" and "I've got enough shells for serious intent". You're a natural Stu!
Best part about your videos is the fact you still show the moments that you fuck up ie safety on or not chambered, everyone has done it and thats what makes you videos relatable. Keep up the awesome work and the vid quality is always great. Double thumbs up!
WTF.......why is there even a dislike button for a Hunting With Stu video? I think I've watched this 3-4 times now (and that's just today!!). Best hunting on RUclips.
Thanks Stu ! It's always fantastic to watch a vid from you and your mate, it brings back so many fantastic memories of when I was able to hunt pigs as you guys do !! 30.06 one of, if not the greatest all round cartridges going !! Legendary. Seeya Rob
Hi Stu, you're shooting like the devil. I linke that you don't give too much about the equipment and more concentrate on your skills. Absolutely great, thank you for the entertainment. Why don't you use semi auto shotguns? Are they restricted in Australia? Greatings from Germany - Paul
I live in north central U.S. -Minnesota- the next state north west of us is very dry but not nearly as dry as your hunting pastures are. The joke is the perfect cow for North Dakota has a four foot wide mouth and can graze at 60 miles per hour. A beef instructor in college swore it would take 40 acres per cow to keep it fed, again in North Dakota. As dry as your pastures seem to be a pig would displace sheep and would have to be quite a drag on profits. It goes without saying I love your videos!
I remember my Dad milking 40 cows on 50 acres, fifty years ago! That’s a lot of milk to carry into the dairy, filter, cool in a 10 gallon churn, ie steel can.All that at the age of 11, I grew up never being afraid of hard work.
Have a look at a Tikka T3s in stainless laminated stock (they do left hand) i have used a couple very accurate and very good value for money, can get spare mag for quick re loading. Cheers
Love your Chanel Stu keep em coming mate & I also bought the Olight after watching how effective it was on your night hunts & just wanting to see how you have your camera gear set up & what you use cherrs👍🏻🍺
Good stuff mate they are a great light. The camera I use is a Sony Action Cam mate and it is set up on the side of my head on a headband. Gives me that 1st person shooter angle.
Very interesting video this, i email most of your videos to my mate down south, years ago we use to go pig shooting near warren, i cant have a rifle where i live now, my mate can shoot in his area, he has a .243,12 g ,couple .22, a 223,and a new 25.06 ( i might have to move))
Excellent! The only good pig is a dead one. How often do you need to sight-in your scope? It seems there is some pretty rough terrain in spots, and I'm sure it get's rattled around on the quad's.
Great video and absolutely awesome shooting on the run from a quad bike mate, Ive got myself a quad and its not always easy, what works best for you to have your scope set at so your ready to go when on the bike? Cheers mate
Thanks mate, I normally have the scope on 5 or 6. I often wind it down to 3 if I have time in the thick stuff or when they charge. I don't think I have ever shot with it on 9 power as it is too wobbly n powerful.
Cheers, I just came back from a pig hunting trip out Goondiwindi way, didn't see and pigs and only a little sign at one of the dams, did shoot a few foxes though, I've just started making some short hunting and shark fishing videos of my own, if your bored check them out one day, best of luck with your next trip, 👍
0:50. That was a mad charge.....and what about if you miss the shot....I think its a good perfect choice snd amazing idea .....if you have a 12 shotgun with you for short range shots......that was nervious time for me when hog aproach.....greetingzzzzz.....nice vid
Thanks mate, yes there are times where pigs attack and I have no time to video. If I missed he would have ripped the tyres so that I would't get away then try n get up on the quad so it is way easier just to take his mind off all this and introduce him to Mr Ruger.
BB's or AAA's as there is plenty of pellets to afford the odd one hitting branches, bush etc. In the open I recommend the Winchester Defender shells the ones with a solid and 3 x ball bearings mate.
Hey stu. I'm from Mildura and need to travel a bit to find pigs. Do you know any good areas your willing to share near broken hill or Bourke? I seen your other video where you said you were near Dubbo. Top shooting mate. Loved the second pig on this vid too, father in law said there no joke up there. Keep them coming !
Hiya stu. I hunt over in WA. Mostly from the back fo th ute. But I'm thinking of using a quadbike. What do you rock round the paddocks on? Cheers. Any minimums you would go by?
Alen, thanks for the question. Shooting running pigs is not an exact science but there are a few things that I do to increase my odds. 1. Don't think about it too much otherwise the pig will still be running and you thinking about where to aim. Generally the first couple of seconds are the best as you will instinctively aim where you think you should and normally this is when to pull off the shot. 2. If the pig is running away at an angle (or even running at you) there is no need to aim off as the target isn't moving fast cross ways. He could be running flat out but only moving left to right slowly. 3. Both eyes open as this then cuts out 'tunnel vision' (self explanatory hopefully). 4. If the pig is flat out running left or right close range then no need to aim off just look for the ear and squeeze off the shot. However, if the pig is 50 m away then a full head length in front of the snout is needed to hit the middle of the head. If he is 100m away then a full body length is needed. 5. An important aspect of shooting fast is having your rifle and scope correct. Go get your rifle and try this.....close your eyes and bring the rifle to the shoulder, keep your eyes closed and pretend you are sighting through the scope. Open your eyes but don't move your head, if you look and see that you are not in line with the scope and it is blacked out then you need to change your mounts as every second no split second counts. Ie if you have to move your head around to get a sight picture in the heat of the moment then you are wasting valuable time. Hope this helps mate.
Really interesting and great video however I have quite a lot of questions and concerns. Firstly I feel as if you're firing 12 grain bullets (Am I correct about this? not 100% sure) I feel like a 30 odd 6 is a far more effective and powerful round. Back in Namibia when i hunted small game like camels and sheep, I used a bolty 1908 Springfield and boy did she work like a charm. It had like a rate of fire of like 12 if you had insane skill (Which I had ;)) Is your gun reliable too? because it seems like it squeaks a lot and I personally feel very scared for you.
Cook lear, thanks for the words. the 30/06 fires a 150 grain projectile at the moment and it is very effective. I have also hunted in Africa taking Cape Buffalo, Kudu etc. I do need to keep the rifle oiled up I must say but it is reliable.
.30-06 probably cheaper, and much better BC, range, accuracy/flat trajectory characteristics, bullet selection, etc. than .30-30 (which is very similar ballistically to the ultra common 7.62x39 russian AK round)
Hunting with Stu fuckin oath. We use it for piggin all the time. Bloody hell your channel has grown alot. 8k gpstart of this year. Keep it up... also whats the camera or go pro u use to record?

No mate as it isn't that loud from my end of the bang stick, however, we should use hearing protection.

Spot on as usual 👍 Tough old bikes too. I camouflaged mine, call it swamp donkey. Even got a rubber head that sits on the bars. Good rifle rest 😉

He never misses
Yes I do mate sometimes I miss the easiest of shots.
Hey mate, love your vids, what choke you running in the Adler?
Thanks mate, the choke is the midway one so modified. It seems to work ok.
How many pigs do you shoot a year? Must be an awesome number! Also, do you do this for fun or are you paid (while having fun)?
Recreational shooter mate and i suppose we shoot a couple o hundred each year.
Hi Stu, what is the torch you have clamped to your scope. Cheers!
Mate it is a torch from Olight Australia called a Javelot.
0:50. That was a mad charge.....and what about if you miss the shot....I think its a good perfect choice snd amazing idea .....if you have a 12 shotgun with you for short range shots......that was nervious time for me when hog aproach.....greetingzzzzz.....nice vid

What brand of tyres are fitting to the quad? They take a pounding.
Not sure mate as the quads belong to Steve my huntin buddy.

Hey bud, which shot shells do you find most effective through thick shit? Cheers
BB's or AAA's as there is plenty of pellets to afford the odd one hitting branches, bush etc. In the open I recommend the Winchester Defender shells the ones with a solid and 3 x ball bearings mate.

Closest I hunted to Bourke was out past Engonia. Not a lot of pigs and we got bogged as it rained for a couple of days straight.
Hello Stu . What do you do with the pigs after you terminate them ? Thumbs up from EIRE
Thanks mate, we leave them as the farmer wants us to cull as many as possible while we are there.
How do you still hit stuff after you pick your gun up by the scope?
Tight mounts mate I suppose
Hey Stu
what are your thoughts on using a 270 win for shooting multiple pigs in a group or should I use a 7mm rem mag ?
270 is perfect mate. My father is a 270 man and he slaps em down all the time.
Alright thank you for the feed back
No worries mate
Hiya stu. I hunt over in WA. Mostly from the back fo th ute. But I'm thinking of using a quadbike. What do you rock round the paddocks on? Cheers. Any minimums you would go by?

I use a sony action cam mate. I reckon that they are way better than the gopros
That 30-06 sure drops them pretty quick
Yes mate, also bullet placement is a big factor as well
Yeah, you seem to able to do that pretty well

New bit of kit Eh, How is the light working out for you?
Olight torches are the go mate, check out the link: ruclips.net/channel/UCa7SxNSPS2JhyUEJQenLZ-A

Yes mate modified choke
I'm an alright shot but come nothing close to that! Nice shooting!

👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤❤💪💪💪
Hey Stu sorry but
what scope do you use on your Ruger M77
I use a Burris Full field II mate. It was actually a gift from the Brother in law ha. Good scope though.
Thank you

No worries mate. I'm out hunting next week so stay tuned mate.
Sounds great I can’t wait 👍🏻

Hi Stu I am interested how do you aim on optics with one or both eyes open, and where do you aim running pigs (in head, or couple of inches in front)?
Alen, thanks for the question. Shooting running pigs is not an exact science but there are a few things that I do to increase my odds.
1. Don't think about it too much otherwise the pig will still be running and you thinking about where to aim. Generally the first couple of seconds are the best as you will instinctively aim where you think you should and normally this is when to pull off the shot.

Thank you Stu for fast and accurate answer, greetings from me!
No worries mate
Stu mate what calibre is this?
30/06 mate
Are these Adler shotguns any good stu
Yes mate they are. I am heading into the gunshop today to pick mine up as I have had a 'slick kit' put in it to smooth out the action.
Great video, how I would like to do the same quad hunting practice here in Spain
Thanks mate, yes we need the quads as often it is 10km between mobs of pigs!
Yes, so you do not have to walk much : )
I just see free ham and bacon running around free range
So glad I found your channel! Greetings from Russia!
Do you eat that pigs?
Thanks mate, no we don't eat these as the farmer just wants us to cull down the numbers for him
Really interesting and great video however I have quite a lot of questions and concerns. Firstly I feel as if you're firing 12 grain bullets (Am I correct about this? not 100% sure) I feel like a 30 odd 6 is a far more effective and powerful round. I do need to keep the rifle oiled up I must say but it is reliable.

What do you do with the hogs after you shoot them
They carry diseases in this area so we leave em mate.
We need to import a few auzzies over to the states.
