Animated elephant Horton (Jim Carrey) finds a speck of dust floating in the Jungle of Nool. Upon investigation of the speck, Horton discovers the tiny city of Who-ville and its residents, the Whos, which he can hear but cannot see. Horton forms a friendship with the mayor of Who-ville, Ned McDodd (Steve Carell), and promises to transport Who-ville to safety. However, Horton encounters opposition from his jungle neighbors, who don't want to believe in the existence of Who-ville.

Tim I want to request a movie but I don’t want to do polls I wanna give you the name you react to it can you do that let me know which tier I will subscribe also if you do make sure you can react with Claris because if not I might cancel the request
@@Pansy_887 Just let me know what movies you have in mind and ill see if its a possibility with Clariss too maybe. it would be the full length tier then on patreon, the top tier
Hey Tim the whoville is the characters that make a lot of noises in whoville from the grinch and then after a few years the grinch becomes real
HHAW was a very bam-tastic and a HO 😂, touching😢 good WOahing time
One change from the original source material that I liked was how Kangaroo's son; Rudy, has his own personality and isn't a clone of his mother.
When he hops out of the pouch all I can say is go Rudy abandon your mom have your own house
In the book, he only had one line.
Me too!
This movie is amazing. The best Dr. Seuss movie in my opinion. The scenes of Horton chasing after the clover and the whos making all the noise are incredible and the anime sequence is hilarious.
Yeah and this movie was made after Audrey Seuss’s widow rejected anymore live action Seuss films
only jim carrey can make a doctor seuss movie work well, but in a genuinely good way. this. How The Grinch Stole Christmas. danny devito did his best but... ed helms? zach efron? taylor swift (acting, not singing)? they even dragged betty white into it, my she rest in peace.
@@jamj4rI can't decide if I like Jim Carrey better as the Grinch or Horton
No wonder why its considered one of the greatest movies from the studio (aka Blue Sky Studios)
Interesting story about when this movie came out:
When I was in Second Grade, I picked out a book in my school's library with no actual plans to read it, it was "Horton Hears a Who." When I got home and finished my homework, I went to go do my own thing, but Mom got the book out of my backpack and sat me down to read it with her. We read it, and I really enjoyed it! Literally 2 weeks later, I'm in bed at night about to hit the hay, Mom comes into my room and tells me that she saw the trailer and the movie is coming out!
rare moment when the parent detects the possibility an ensures it not ever homework or health but silly media
I want mother like yours😪😢😭.
Wow that's amazing
31:03 It was Jim Carrey’s idea to have another Vlad to be a good one which a bunny that makes cookies
Jim Carreys voice acting in this movie is so underrated
Katie's weird eyes and her little "Ahhhh...." kills me every time.
The "lighter than air"scene is hilarious. Just Horton's trunk puffed up and then the reveal that he's just tearing through the collapsing bridge, XD
Morton:"He would never hurt a fly! Except that fly colony he sat on! But he didn't do that on purpose..."
You should check out the Theorizer Katie trilogy here on YT… it’s actually amazing
This is easily the best film based on a Dr. Seuss story. Because its rather faithful to the source material and very clean for families to enjoy. Also, this was my first film that I saw in a theater. I was 5 years old when it came out and my class back in preschool went to the theater to go see this film.
I remember having this movie on dvd as a kid but I eventually got rid of it… This reaction alone brought back so many memories! One of my favorites as a kid! So much nostalgia! 🥹🥰
You brought up the whole idea of this movie existing in the same world as the Lorax. While I don't know if there's any connection there, there's another Seuss story that it's connected to: How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Remember, the townspeople in that are called the Whos down in Whoville, and there's a theory that the events of THIS story are why they make so much noise around Christmas (which is what irritates the Grinch).
Also, the mention of US living on a speck, was that a subtle nod to Carl Sagan's famous line from Pale Blue Dot about Earth being "a mote of dust, suspended in a sunbeam" when talking about the famous photograph taken by Voyager 1?
5:36 Jim Carrey was doing a Henry Kissinger impression according to the commentary. He's had 150 impersonations when he was 10 years old.
6:07 Then more I was thinking of what Horton said, I felt smaller.
This is one of my FAVORITE movies I absolutely loved when I was a little girl! Dr. Seuss is one of a kind writer! 😄😁
The main reason the ending seems so sudden is because the writers didn't want the film to end on a bittersweet notion of Horton leaving the
Whos, possibly to never see them again. They needed something definitive
Katies weird eyes and her little ahhhhhh is so funny
This 2008 take on Horton Hears A Who is a Bruce Almighty reunion crossed with a role reversal on actors going through a Truman Show situation!
So much different from the animated TV special that was under the guidance of Dr. Seuss in the 70s.
This Dr. Seuss movie was amazing because it was legit like the actual story and they didn’t try to change to much which I appreciate😊 also I love the combo of Jim Carey and Steve Carrel together as both Hortan and the Mayor I thought the were great together same goes for the rest of the voice cast. Also I love the funny moments as well and the animation is stunning 🤩 enjoyed this reaction can’t wait to see what you guys do next 😁😁😉😉 ps: I loved the son standing up to his corrupted Mum it showed her a thing of two 😄
The ending with jojo singing was always my favorite part. Like the vocals were vocaling
That’s Jesse McCartney! 💖🗣️🎶
@@kimberlyalessandroni9767 But that's not him singing.
Fun fact: this was the VERY first movie I got to see in the movie theater in my hometown of Auburn in Indiana!
This movie was my childhood, my mother used to play it whenever I was crying to cheer me up or whenever she just wanted to be busy and keep me occupied
It might be my favorite movie ever and to this day as a teen...
I can't believe I'm finding a reaction to it less than 24 hrs, you're the second channel that has a reaction for this movie and this made my days XD
2:20: That movie has, like, three titles:
1. Horton (as shown here).
2. Horton Hears a Who (which is what it’s called the most, because of the book).
3. Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who (it’s shown on Disney+, despite being produced by 20th Century Fox).
Love your reaction, Tim and Malbread. Horton Hears A Who Is One Of My All Time Favorite Childhood Movies. So Much Nostalgia 🥰😊🤣🥹🥺😭
Jojo's a genius he built alot in that building. He even saved the day.
Now everyone know that there are little people that Horton hears
This movie makes me feel "Nostalgic"
I watched this and loved it growing up. And I completely forgot that it was a musical. Lol!
My childhood memories are BACK! Thanks, Tim and Malbread for watching this movie. I had so much fun watching this movie for the first time when I was 7 in 2011!
This is so good
It has a good cast, Seth Rogan, Steve Carrel, Jim Carrey, and Will Arnett
And it’s a Dr. Seuss movie and a Blue Sky movie!
Can't leave out Jesse McCartney as Jojo. I just wish he could've sang more.
5:34 That reference is Henry Kissinger 🤣🤣🤣
Loved this film since I was a kid
Always loved reading dr suess as a kid, even watched the cat and the hat show back during the golden age of nickelodeon. I remember when this came out and was surprised how good it was. Friend of mine took his little cousin to see Horton and said everyone was singing the ending.
This movie here is living proof Jim Carrey is a fan of Dr. Seuss’ work. He was the Grinch, now he’s Horton the Elephant!
(8:15) Interestingly, that portrait is none other than a caricature of Theodore Geisel (aka Dr. Seuss) himself!
Set in the same universe? Well the grinch and the cat in the hat might have something to say about that 😂
24:02 According to the DVD commentary, there's half a billion clovers in that fielld
This movie was my childhood! It was literally the only movie downloaded on my dads iPad when I was little, I watched it every long drive, flight, any time we went anywhere. I basically know it by heart even now😅
Also... 🍪🍪🍪
I love yellow fluff ball Katie and sounds and things she says. Cute.
I remember the old cartoon, hand-drawn special, Horton Hears a Who. Such a good special.
Chuck Jones
Thanks for watch this❤ and I love when you both are just enjoying and having fun😁
Jim Carrey and Steve Carell: the GOAT duo in this animated movie 💯💯
A Bruce Almighty reunion!
And for Jim Carrey being both Horton and the Grinch
Don't forget Seth Rogen
I love Horton hears a Who, such a great and funny film! Loved the reaction Timothee!!
The best Dr.Seuss movie of all time
Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell at their finest😁😁
This movie is by far my all time favorite Dr. Seuss movie adaption of all time!
Kangaroo owes Horton and everyone an apology for all of this
13:11 scared me when I was younger.
26:27 Did you and Malbread forget what the Joker said in The Dark Knight film? "If you're good at something, never do it for free."
In the book, the Mayor is a Profesor, and he nows that Who Ville is in a speck way before metting Horton.
And speaking of Horton, he has another book!!! Where he is pink, and takes care of an egg (when I mean takes care, he sits on it; and he doesn't move even if it's raining, if the hunters come, if everyone laughs at him; he will still sitting on that egg) So yeah, Horton is not just a great friend or elephant, he is a great dad.
Sorry if my english is weird. Saludos desde México.
Speaking of my bad english, I wrote "now", insted of "know" . Dammit!! 😅😫😅
Actually, the Mayor was a mayor in the book. You're thinking of the tv special.
Did you see all the instruments and the size of the horns drums and pianos (maybe) truly an outstanding movie
I love Jim Carrey and Steve Carell.
They're both hilarious and legends.😊
He do artificial breathing to a fish seriously 😂😂🤦♂️ 20:40
🍪🍪🍪 Thank you. This was always a favorite of mine growing up.
Fun Facts: This was the first fully animated Dr. Seuss movie, the fourth Blue Sky Studios film, the second Dr. Seuss movie to star Jim Carrey, and the only Dr. Seuss movie to be owned by Disney
Also it's good that Dr. Seuss movies are only going for fully animated because it's easier and you can do whatever you want to make them look Dr. Seuss-y
Also also this is my most favorite Dr. Seuss movie
Here's my ranking
1. Horton Hears A Who (2008)
2. How the Grinch stole Christmas (2000)
3. The Grinch (2018)
4. The Lorax (2012)
5. The Car in the Hat (2003)
This movie did not need to be epic, but the soundtrack pleads its case to be absurdly epic
The captions I’m seeing are absurdly wrong
So, Jim Carrey went from being the Grinch to an elephant. Unexpected, but otherwise humorous!
Both Dr Seuss movies
Love this movie so much!!!
I forgot how funny this film is XD but i don't think i've hated an animated villain more lol
Thank you this is my childhood movies 😊😊😊
Hay Tim , did you know slipping on banana peels is it a part of a vaudeville act❤🎉
Katie is so funny l love her
YEEEEEEAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!! WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!! Jim Carrey has done it again. This time, in a new median. Animation. Especially CGI. And it was actually released on my birth-year. However, not my birthDAY. It was released 5 days before I was born, and I checked it out on Disney+, alongside Home Alone 3 (1997), and Elemental (at last, the new Pixar movie came out on Disney+). But, I got kinda sick from that movie marathon, so I stopped after those three films. But, that was days (maybe even weeks) ago, so, I’ve made a full recovery.
really enjoyed this film when it came out then watched a few year slater with my son and now watching reaction to this. thank you for doing reaction on this movie
7:20 96 DAUGHTERS!? THAT'S ALMOST 100! HOW DO THEY HAVE THAT MANY!? 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
Love this Movie
The best dr Seuss movie of all time
Best Dr Seuss adaptation movie
3:37-3:41 i wasn't expecting that 😂😂
I need more people to react to this! It's so good!
I remember this movie, and how accurate enough it was to the book. Not since Bruce Almighty, have I ever seen a movie that was smart enough to bring Jim Carrey and Steve Carrell in the same film. It’s a good movie in my opinion.
CLARISS shes amazing
The drastic depression an horror of the field scene and boil pot scene like oh damn
After the events of Horton Hears A Who, the who’s started a tradition of giving each other the loudest present on Christmas to remind those of horton’s size that they are still there. 53 years later on one Christmas Day everything was stolen by the Grinch. So yes all of the Dr Seuss books are a part of the same universe. Called the who-niverse
Edit: I listen to the OST of this movie religiously I don’t know if anyone has
this idea is terrafying
@@senritsujumpsuit6021 how so?
@@hedgehog07productions91 so many things can go wrong with the overlap
@@senritsujumpsuit6021 like every thing being in the same universe is terrifying because of the timeline order?
I love this movie. 🤩🤩🤩🤩
I am a very big fan of this cartoon, to see the duo of Steve Carell and Jim Carrey, to reflect on Universal questions, to joke about anime, and my favorite scene with the dentist is the best for me (Heavy Feather)))
PS Fun fact: My real name is Vlad and I bake very tasty cookies)
I'm so glad you're watching this movie, tim! Jim Carrey gets a role to play in another Dr. Seuss story besides The Grinch. And he does Horton's character really well. Also, Steve Carell does a great job as mayor McDodd aka the mayor of whoville.
welcome back malbred
That’s why people need to watch the movie series. I know that there was a movie, but it was like about the series. And that’s also why I love the series. I know that there was another one which was a live action cat in the hat, and I know that they were scanned the hat in space which it has been a long time since I have seen a lot of different movies, especially the Dr. Seuss ones to.
PS you should still think about doing Christopher Robin. I know that one’s a sad movie as well. And maybe a couple other sad movies, other than another one called doggy boogie plus it has been a long time since I’ve seen that one, but I do remember at the end that both nephews fall in love like a niece and nephew and also it was so sad because of how they couldn’t be in love, so it was more like one of those movies but there are a bunch of other movies other than that other one that I can’t think of, but it’s kind of super scary other than strawberry shortcake as well well, Barry, something
I forgot about this movie it’s kinda funny
Yessssss we love you Horton
12:47-12:57 same 😂😂
I remember seeing this movie in theaters with my dad and I was eating a big bag of skittles
I never knew that Jim Carrey was Horton, because I'm Peruvian and I watch films in Latin Spanish.
EMBARRASSING CONFESSION: I... I used to be so obsessed with Vlad Vladikoff, of all characters, when I was a child. I would often recite his lines from the movie and often imitate him while wearing the cosplay dress my parents made for me.
My childhood obsession with that dagnabbit vulture was, and admittedly still is, so embarrassing because I honestly didn't expect to love Vlad THIS much. He's still my favorite character, mind you, but remembering how I kept it a secret to avoid giving my bullies another reason to make fun of me just makes me blush even more out of embarrassment. 😳😳😳😵💫😵💫😵💫😵💫💀💀
That aside, I LOVE Will Arnett's voice performance as Vlad, especially with the Russian accent. That vulture also often cracked me up with how eccentric he can be despite looking imposing, especially with his silly antics. 🤭🤭🤭
I'm still going to say that even though he had few lines Jesse McCartney still hit it out of the park as Jojo.
The only positive movie by critics
Out of sheer curiosity, I looked up the voice for JoJo, and it's freaking Jesse McCartney! Literally the voice actor for one of my favorite characters ever, Roxas, and I didn't immediately recognize him.
Edit: Okay, someone else provides his singing voice. I feel slightly better now. Though it is kinda weird. Jesse McCartney is himself a singer, so it's kinda weird to me that he didn't do the singing.
Timothee, if you haven’t seen it yet, please react to the Dreamworks film, SPIRIT, STALLION OF THE CIMARRON.
-2D animation…the horses don’t speak-it’s all their expressions and so much is said without words.
-it’s so emotional.
-Hans Zimmer’s score is epic.
-Bryan Adams songs are great (same thing as what Phil a Collins does in TARZAN).
IT’S JUST SO GOOD! 🐴⛰️🌄
The song at the end was Jim Carreys idea too.
15:31 WHAT IS IT WITH ROPE BRIDGES IN MOVIES
My childhood
Tim, thanks for reacting to this movie. I think I suggested it a few months ago. Also, good luck on your future wedding.
I suggested this movie too
I feel like this relates to God and abortion so strongly 😂 and I get the message
A good Dr Seuss show is Green Eggs and Ham from Netflix
Which is scarier? Finding out your whole world is a speck on a flower or finding a world that’s a speck on a flower and you’re the only thing keeping it from total destruction?
Dang! I would feel helpless if its the former but the responsibility is too big for the latter. I think I'll choose the latter slightly because I'll survive and mostly because I want to make Uncle Ben proud.
I first saw this in the theaters last 15 years ago.
Tim, out of all of these Dr Seuss movies that you’ve watched, which one is your favourite?
It really was refreshing to see that this Dr. Seuss film was the one to be adapted closest to the children’s book. I have seen the 2D animated version from 1970 as well, which was also very well-adapted. This film is fun, from the carefully crafted Dr. Seuss style to the great cast of characters.🙂
I can only imagine nickflix watching this
Horton is a very great friend to the who's.
8:14 whoville? as in the town from how the grinch stole xmas? wait are those stories connected than?
15:48 this scene was Jim Carreys idea.
The filmmakers asked themselves what's the most inconvenient thing the Mayor could be doing at this moment.
They came up with, "Using a power tool.", but they didnt want the Mayor to lose an arm.
So Jim asked, "What if he was at the dentist?"
Hi watched this cartoon for first time in June and I love it!
Awww katie🥹😂😂😂
