I hope I'm not alone when I say I enjoyed Shrek 3 more than Shrek 1. I feel it is overall funnier than Shrek 1 & that Charming is a better villain than Farquad. Plus, I like the whole idea of Shrek having to deal with becoming a father which adds a lot to his character.
To repeat what I wrote in the Shrek 2 reaction video: It's believed that Fairy Godmother is the 1 who cursed Fiona to become an Ogre. The reason why Fairy Godmother did this to Fiona was that way Charming could rescue her when they were both old enough & he would become the next king of Far Far Away. Given Charming's upbringing & his obession to become king of Far Far Away that we see in this movie, it also adds to his motivation to get rid of Shrek for revenge for taking his bride & kingdom that his mother tried to give him.
This actually happened to me in high school, and it's honestly my worst memory. I was struggling to get a bunch of work done before class started. In the middle of this, someone calls out to talk to me, and I grumbled, "Somebody better be dying." Turns out, one of my classmates shot himself and was in the hospital in critical condition. He died later that day.
My favorite part of this movie is when Shrek and Arthur have that talk about excepting yourself by the fire. That, and the princess's badass break in sequence. Especially Snow White's part.

But the spell is ultimately designed to make Fiona permanently ogreish, because “love’s true form” is acceptance. Fairy Godmother seems like the kind of person to make Fiona human at the end. It’s true she didn’t throw out her plans when she saw Fiona was an ogre, but she definitely seemed surprised when she first saw her. I think it was the Godmother’s idea to lock Fiona in the tower, but I think the spell was just some random wandering witch who wanted to teach some kind of lesson.
@@dodiswatchbobobo Or maybe the spell's break changes depending on the species. A lot of people say Fairy Godmother DID curse Fiona as an excuse for Charming to rescue her.
In case you’re wondering, the two songs the Queen (Julie Andrews) hums at 35:02 are “A Spoonful of Sugar” from Mary Poppins and “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music, two of her most iconic songs.
30:00 ... If you rewind the scene, Donkey and Puss are holding hands. I'm certain that's why they swapped bodies. Also, this whole series is absolute treasure 🪙🪙 and I can't wait for the next one 😂
Shrek 2 and 3 are personal favorites, I've often heard that Shrek 3 isn't so great but to me I think it introduced Artie and Shrek being a father-figure pretty warmly. Side note: The scene with Snow White and her battalion of animals attacking the enchanted trees will ALWAYS be the coolest scene to me
The DreamWorks debut of Justin Timberlake as Arthur! Many may know him as once dating Cameron Diaz many years ago in the 2000s (and even starring alongside him in this movie and one called Bad Teacher), but Timberlake would continue his contributions to DreamWorks following up with the Trolls film series!
One of my favorite little parts is after Fionas mother knocks the walls down she sings "my favorite things" and she is voiced by Juie Andrews who sang that song in Sound Of Music
9:03 I believe his name was Stromboli, who held Pinocchio captive for a get-rich scheme using the puppet's fame. It was one of the darkest moments of that 1940s movie. The most darkest moment was the donkey transformation.
9:08 Even as a kid, I've always appreciated the attention to detail that the first two villains Charming addresses are Queen Grimhilde and Stromboli, as those are the villains (or, in Stromboli's case, *a* villain) of the first two Disney animated films.
I really enjoyed the third movie. King Harold's funeral made me cry, the songs were great, Donkey and Puss switching bodies was hilarious and the princesses fighting was epic 🎵🎵🎵😢😢😢🔥🔥🔥🤣🤣🤣
When the King Harold's Funeral scene happened is was sad but what makes the scene more sad is that the king was buried in a "Ye Olde Foot Locker Shoebox" instead of a costume made small coffin since he's rich and I can't help but laugh at the minor inconvenience. 🤦🏻♀️😆😂🤣
That quote at 23:49 has to be my favorite quote from this movie because it's so true LMFAO as well as Shrek roasting Charming during the final battle 🤣💕
35:01 When Lillian gets stund by the wall, you could hear Lillian doing a melody excerpt "A Spoon Full of Sugar" from Julie Andrews' film, Mary Poppins. 35:05 and you could hear her singing "My Favorite Things" from her film Sound of Music.

5:09 this always makes me laugh 😅😂 Donkey: I think that went pretty well Shrek: Donkey! *Drags him to the door* Donkey: Oh come on now, Shrek! Me: Yeah Shrek, Donkey just wanted some cuddle time with you 😂😂😂😅😅😅🤣🤣🤣
2:14, and that’s not the only Monty Python reference. They also have Eric Idle (from Monty Python) be a friend to King Arthur and that’s not a coincidence. (John Cleese from Monty Python is also in the movie but that one is a coincidence since he played King Harold in the previous film.)
Hook confusing people for Peter and Wendy reminds me of Peter Pan 2 where he confused Jane for her mother Wendy. Not sure if that’s in the books or just poking fun at Disney’s Hook.

13:02, it’s also (partly) a reference to the book Shrek! by William Steig wherein Shrek has a nightmare of being surrounded by children who find him cute and cuddly instead of ugly and terrifying
A renowned RUclipsr once called Prince Charming "Jaime Lannister" from the iconic 'Game of Thrones'. He also called Rapunzel the infamous "Cersei Lannister", and guess what? He was right. But I think why Rapunzel was bald the whole time. She got chemotherapy HAHA (I am so, so sorry to all cancer patients reading this). 😂😂😂
4:33 I mean, I understand why this was chosen but ironically, clothes were made for the body it was worn although starched collars and ruffs could pose as a challenge.
13:58, Donkey has his own children with Dragon and honestly especially if you know how it works in the real world that raises the question of “how does it happen?”
2:20 He wasn’t changing the story, that’s how it traditionally goes where the Prince saved the girl from a monster. But since the Shrek films, the roles are reversed and everyone loves the monster now.
That's my First Shrek Movie that I watch in Theaters when I was 6 Years Old! It was a Very Fun movie. My mom took me in Cinemas after my 1st Kindergarten days and She knows that I wanted to See Shrek The Third.
I don’t get the hate for Shrek 3 at all. Sure it’s not on the same level as Shrek 1 & 2, but it’s good in it’s own way. Plus I feel like this movie is teaching a lesson in responsibility. Edit: By the way, the part where Pinocchio tries to double talk so Charming can’t tell if he’s lying is still one of the funniest scenes in the movie
