I remember shortly after this movie was released a documentary was made about the making of this movie to show how Disney movies are made. However, the documentary exposed how difficult it is for writers who work for Disney & how studio interference drastically changed this movie. As a result, Disney does everything it can to keep that documentary lost & anytime someone uploads it to RUclips it almost immediately gets taken down.
What I love most about this movie, in addition to Kuzco's redemption, is the hilarious comedy duo that is Yzma and Kronk. I love how they bounce off each other, and Eartha Kitt (RIP) and Patrick Warburton both gave it their all wth their voice acting.
I agree. And I also love that Eartha Kitt was actually surprised at the voice filter they used for her cat form. The line in the movie “Is that my voice? Is that MY voice? Oh well” was actually her asking the director about it and they left it in the movie.
The original ending had Kuzco building his palace summer home on the hill next to Patcha, but it was changed because it sent the message he didn't learn anything.

Originally the ending was going to be that Kuzco would build Kuzcotopia on the hill next to Pacha's village and he invites everyone, even Pacha's family to his new place for a day of fun. Sting objected to it, not because of he's an environmentalist and not keen on the idea of deforestation, but because he felt that Kuzco hasn't learned anything. So the final ending came to be where he has a simple shack nextdoor to Pacha, to humble down a bit and take a rest from his extravagant life as a royalty.
The slapstick and comedy in this film is so on point! Everything from the cast performances to the looney tunes-like humor really makes me come back for more laughs. That’s what I love about The Emperor’s New Groove, it’s never not funny!😄
I like this movie and I seen it when I was little and it's my least favorite movie from my childhood and it's a good movie but not funny about this movie and it's still a good movie but not funny about this movie and do you agree with me about what I say right and what do you think about this movie same thing what I say right
That's the first line my little sister mentionned after seeing it for the first time. Except, us french, we grew up with Yzma saying " Not this oooone !!!! "
A detail a lot of people seem to miss is that Kuzco is still a teenager. Barely 18 years old. Not that it’s an excuse for his behavior, but let’s be honest, not everyone is the exactly mature at that age. And with the power of an emperor? No wonder he is the way he is.
In familiar Disney fashion, Kuzco's parents are missing (read: dead), so he seems to have been raised by servants with Yzma filling in as the main royal advisor, Cromwell-ing the throne until Kuzco's of age. So, he doesn't seem to have had much personal direction when it was important
Still can't decide between: "Is there anything on this menu that is not swimming in gravy?" and "For the last time, we did not order a giant trampoline!"
10:15 One of my favorite jokes in the entire movie is right there in the background. The cactus Yzma dumped the potion into now looks like a llama, foreshadowing what's about to happen to Kuzco!
It took me time to notice it. Also, when Kuzco's head fells into the plate, it makes me think of the french expression " Not being in our plate " meaning being sick

Some people do find this as another Disney classic, which I can see why. This movie does have some good comedic moments. It also has some good celebrities. David Spade, John Goodman, Eartha Kitt, and I’m being honest here. I’m a sucker for anything Patrick Warburton related. His character Kronk in this movie is hilarious. So, yeah. This is a pretty funny and classic Disney movie from the rest.
You know I remember watching this The emperor's new groove when I was like very little and I still think it's one of my favorite Disney movie 👈. Years later I grew and I still watch this movie never gets old
37:49, fun fact, the reason they transformed Yzma into a Cat was because Eartha Kitt played Catwoman in the last season of the 1960s Batman television series
I need to throw in a couple of cents to say that yes, Kronk is the MVP of this movie. But part of what makes him so great is the way Eartha Kitt and Patrick Warburton play off each other -Kronk needs a foil; Yzma needs a foil, and these two compliment each other amazingly well. Therefore, I respectfully submit that Yzma is a great deal of what makes Kronk so perfect.
34:49 Eartha Kitt of course was one of the 3 original Catwomen from the 1960s Adam West TV Show 'Batman'. Hers distinct style of saying 'perfect'/'purrfect' was where she focused on the 'R' instead of the 'U', where another one (Julie Newmar I think) said 'Puuuurrfect', Eartha Kitt said 'purrrrrrrrrrfect'.
I'm a little late, but there's a fact I'm not seeing in the comments. The poor man that was thrown from the windows is John Fielder. He was the original voice actor for Piglet in Winnie the Pooh.
Emperor's New Groove is one of the best Disney movies. Kronk is a great character, it's freaking hilarious and Eartha Kitt's performance as Yzma will never get old 🦙🦙🦙💖💖💖🤣🤣🤣
According to the TV series, The Emperor’s New School, Kuzco’s parents died at sea when he was younger. Meanwhile Pacha has been closest he knows to a dad and welcomed into his family.
This movie is absolutely brilliant. The amount of time I've watched it as a kid is absurd. One thing: pill bugs are actually crustaceans, so it probably tastes similar to crab or shrimp

10/10 One of Disney's best animated films I think the film wasn't initially well received because it is so different from much of the Disney canon. It's much closer to the classic Looney Toons in its zaniness than say Sleepy Beauty. It is very bright and kooky in its animation style; it's a comedy in which the plot is basically incidental to the proceedings. Films like this live and die on their performances; the four principals of Goodman, Spade, Kitt, Warburton are all *perfect* in this film. Every time I watch it it is just as engaging and delightful as the first time I saw it. The film ended up being the first in a series of animated films-the Shrek films, others come to mind-making meta-jokes or commentary on their forms to produce much more comedic offerings. Returning to it after 20 years or so just makes it stand out as the trend setter it ended up being.
I've always loved this movie. So nostalgic. Kronk was always a goofball, Patrick Warburton did amazing voicing him. I can just see you not only react to Kronk's New Groove but maybe possibly The Emperor's New School Tv Series.
So happy your rewatching this movie with MalBrad this time never get tired of it because it's my favorite David Spade movie also I'm excited to see you react to Kronk's New Groove 😁👏🏻💕🦙🤣🎥
I cannot lie, this film is one of the funniest in the Disney library! It makes me think how different it’s original take, “Kingdom of the Sun” would’ve turned out. More traditional like the films that came before, less uproariously funny, maybe. But with The Emperor’s New Groove, it brought so much enjoyment to so many of us and still remains one of Disney’s finest films in the Post Renaissance era.
Fun Fact: Yzma's line at 35:04 saying "is that my voice? Is that *my* voice? Oh well." is Eartha Kitt's reaction to Yzma's cat voice and wasn't scripted.
I feel like people don't understand Kuzco. He was a spoiled baby, we never see his parents he might've grown up with Yzma as his only role model(and she's self-centered too), and most of this movie he doesn't realize he gave his trust to the wrong person
I just watched this and your 2021 viewing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it Tim. I was also born in 2000, so it's only appropriate that this movie came out the same year, since it's largely seen as where our entire generation got its sense of humor. I recently rewatched Emperor's New Groove myself, and it still is a blast to watch. I may not have watched the entire movie that often, but the most memorable quotes have been engraved in my head since the earliest points of my childhood because the VHS of Toy Story 2 has a trailer for Emperor's New Groove at the beginning.
David Spade did AMAZING voicing Kuzco. I had no idea that was him as a kid but i do is he's iconic. Another part of my childhood i had back😞 Tim, if u love david spade, u should do a reaction for Racing Stripes
Oh, that's funny 😂 In the french version, she says " I hope you have a good excuse " and in the french canadian (I saw the two versions), it's " You better have a good excuse "
Before this film could even be made, what do you think about this film originally written as “Kingdom of the Sun?” It would’ve featured a Prince and the Pauper-style story where Kuzco swaps positions with a peasant who looks just like him. If that were so, it would’ve featured both David Spade and future Cars actor Owen Wilson! Ultimately, it was rewritten where Wilson left and kept Spade.
Nice you reacting to the funniest Disney movie ever made, if your gonna do a watch list of old Disney movie, may i recommend the Great Mouse Detective.
You didn't have alot of halloween movies so you probably don't have alot of Christmas movies either.heres some popular titles you can do:Santa who,the toys that saved chrismas, beauty and the beast 2 bells inchanted chrismas, jingle all the way, jingle all the way 2,and to grandmother's house we go
As much as I love this movie, I'm still upset that we never got the original version of this movie called Kingdom of the Sun. An Epic musical which had a more Prince and Pauper vibe to it, with original songs by Sting.
This is one of my favorite Disney movies I love this movie from the comedy to the characters it's wonderful The Emperors New Groove is a movie I fill everyday should see at least once in there life
In an earlier version of the story (the started rehearsing and animated while still working on the story), they actually gave us an answer to Kuzco's question about Yzma "What is holding this woman together?" We find out through her solo (I know they cut it because the final story didn't match the storyline they had when the recorded the song, but still....you don't just CUT an Eartha Kitt song!) that her father had been the royal mortician and that he'd taught her all of his tricks of the trade. If anyone's interested, here's the song: ruclips.net/video/L_hJxBUMuss/видео.html

Yzma's line at 35:04 saying "is that my voice? Is that *my* voice? Oh well." is Eartha Kitt's reaction to Yzma's cat voice and wasn't scripted.
I love that yzma's reaction to her kitten voice was Ertha Kits' genuine reaction to the pitch change 😂
I really enjoyed this video. All the voice actors did such a great job. Plus I loved Yzma's cat voice. So sinister but high pitched.
A forever classic. Kronk is the best thing in this movie.
If one of the ladies that Kuzco criticized was Malina, he’d hit in her and apologize right away.
Who's Malina ?
@@a.g.demada5263 She was a character from The Emperor’s New School, and she was the one Kuzco had a crush on.
@@morganghostbusters-egonfan ah I didn't know that
@@a.g.demada5263 Okay
28:01 In the Italian dub Yzma said, "I've killed for much less!".
35:04 that's Eartha Kitts genuine reaction to hearing her voice altered.
I feel like people don't understand Kuzco. He was a spoiled baby, we never see his parents he might've grown up with Yzma as his only role model(and she's self-centered too), and most of this movie he doesn't realize he gave his trust to the wrong person
The humor is quick
Underrated classic
I think the best part about this movie is the cast they definitely perform well.
6:00 - She (Izma) could be the spokesman for the Canadian Conservative party at their next convention.
The legendary... *WRONG LEVER!!!*
My littlesister mentionned that line in first after seeing it.
Except, us french, grew up with Yzma shouting " Not this oooone !!! "
David Spade did AMAZING voicing Kuzco. I had no idea that was him as a kid but i do is he's iconic. Another part of my childhood i had back😞
Tim, if u love david spade, u should do a reaction for Racing Stripes
27:58 - 28:05 En la parte español latino Izma dice estaba soñando con Ricky 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Oh, that's funny 😂 In the french version, she says " I hope you have a good excuse " and in the french canadian (I saw the two versions), it's " You better have a good excuse "
The best movie with the most memorable memes created from, and used even to this day.
I loved this reaction by you two 😁
Also I recommend you two to listen to Snuff Out The Light which is a cut villain song for Yzma 😁
Nice you reacting to the funniest Disney movie ever made, if your gonna do a watch list of old Disney movie, may i recommend the Great Mouse Detective.
i love kronk he is a nice guy
In France, he's voiced by the same guy than Simba. That guy is also the french voice actor of Jim Carrey
Off the walls fun! Looney Tunes gags galore… in a Disney animated film!
David Spade and John Goodman were awesome as the leads!
I love this movie so much
You didn't have alot of halloween movies so you probably don't have alot of Christmas movies either.heres some popular titles you can do:Santa who,the toys that saved chrismas, beauty and the beast 2 bells inchanted chrismas, jingle all the way, jingle all the way 2,and to grandmother's house we go
8:11 Pull the lever, Kronk.
WRONG LEVER!!!!! 😅😅😅😅
12:10, the Incan Empire. It’s based in Peru but also ruled a lot of the surrounding region
33:30 The best line in the whole movie, right there 😂
As much as I love this movie, I'm still upset that we never got the original version of this movie called Kingdom of the Sun. An Epic musical which had a more Prince and Pauper vibe to it, with original songs by Sting.
Yzma looks like present day Madonna 😂
Now, this movie would have been a Splash Mountain ride, not Princess and the Frog.
My favorite part will ALWAYS be Yzma turning into a piñata 😆😆😆 laugh myself to tears every single time
Omg I love this movie and the show growing up!! Still one of my favs 🥰🥰🥰
This movie is so great! Most people would agree that Kronk is the best character
One of my favorite childhood classic movie 🎥
This is one of my favorite Disney movies I love this movie from the comedy to the characters it's wonderful
The Emperors New Groove is a movie I fill everyday should see at least once in there life
greatest movie ever
25:05 Pill bugs are not actually bugs, they are crustaceans
In an earlier version of the story (the started rehearsing and animated while still working on the story), they actually gave us an answer to Kuzco's question about Yzma "What is holding this woman together?"
We find out through her solo (I know they cut it because the final story didn't match the storyline they had when the recorded the song, but still....you don't just CUT an Eartha Kitt song!) that her father had been the royal mortician and that he'd taught her all of his tricks of the trade.
