Fun fact: Denis Leary, who voices Diego in the franchise, explains that his character originally died near at the end of the film. And some of the kids in the test audiences burst into tears when his death was shown. So Denis warned the producers that something like this would happen. And when it was proven true, the scene was re-written where Diego recovers his injuries. And Denis Leary felt glad that he got his wish. The DVD commentary also revealed that there is an original ending scene where Diego actually died and did not come back to Manny and Sid, leaving them both to travel South alone. John Leguizamo has experimented with over 40 voices to play Sid for the character, including a slower-sounding voice to fit with the lazy nature of a giant sloth. Until he came up with the final voice and trademark lateral lisp for the character after watching Discovery Channel footage of sloths and learning that they store food in the pockets of their mouths which ferments over time.
That squirrel's name is Scrat and he has tried for many years to plant his Acorn. He has been in space and was the cause of the continental drifts. And when after many years the company got sold they made one more animation of Scrat where he finally decided NOT to bury his Acorn but to just eat it.
You just have to love Ellie. She cries during animated movies. Her expression are just so touching. Don't get me wrong, all the Homies are emotionally sensitive and a joy to watch, it's just that Ellie wears her feelings on her sleeve.❤❤❤❤
It's interesting how much talking animal animated films dominated the 2000s. We've had the Shrek, Ice Age and Madagascar franchise, Over the Hedge, Barnyard, and Open Season in 2006, and Kung Fu Panda was just starting.
"Rhinos are actually the one true unicorns of this world." Well, not fully, unicorn basically means 'one-horn' and rhinos have two. They are pretty much the closest thing to one, though.
7:20 if you want to know what happend to this woman. She probably broke both of her legs and was very tired, she knew she can't take care of her baby, but was happy that her boy lived. Really beautiful how it shows the love of mother to her child. Btw, thank you so much for this video, my favourite childhood movie❤
I'm so glad you guys are watching Ice Age. I grew with the franchise and to this day is one of my favorite franchises I grew up with. Scrat was by far my favorite character of the franchise
This was honestly one of my favorite movies as a kid, it’s so underrated. Haven’t seen this movie in so long, so glad you guys did a group reaction to this, can’t wait to re-experience this with you!!❤
Scrat ( the squirrel kinda thing) steals the franchise for me😂. I was so hyped for ice age 3 😂 i was 25 then and it happened that i decided to go rewarding myself to a fancy dinner in a restaurant that was in a shopping mall. In that day it was the premier for ice age 3 . All tickets sold out. I entered in a mobile contest for ice age 3. Within an hour i won😂 so i ended up on the front row(reserved) watching ice age 3 next to a bunch of children and their parents looking at me alone laughing very suspiciously😅😇 anyway funny story to share😇
One of my favorite movies. I watched it when I was 8 years old and I loved so much. This was a very good reaction I can't believe that all of you finally reacted to ice age (2002)🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤ now it's time for ice age 2.
You guys saying Scrat, who is voiced by Blue Sky's co founder Chris Wedge since you asked, reminded you of a rat isn't wrong. One of the screenwriter s said Scrat was creater when his daughter came up with the idea of a squirrel rat hybrid obsessed with an acorn. Also, Scrat was initially only supposed to be in the beginning as it'd take around half an hour before ice or snow appeared, but his popularity with test audiences led to Blue Sky giving him more scenes, and his success made him the mascot of both Ice Age and Blue Sky until their closure
Originally, Scrat was a completely made-up creature for this movie. Some time after its release, the remains of an ice age animal were discovered which looked remarkably similar to Scrat.
This was a favorite from my childhood. I get nothing but good memories from this film. I especially love the little squirrel trying to keep his acorn safe🤣🤣
If you want to know how is to grow as animal you can look for info about Marcos Rodriguez Pantoja. He is still alive and he was raised by wolves here in Sierra Morena (South Spain) few decades ago (his father sold him and the buyer died letting him alone in the mountains). There are several interviews and even a movie called "Entre lobos" (2010) wich means Between wolves.Today Marcos is an old man but if you listen to him you notice his mind is nearer to a child. But when you listen to his howl...it is wonderful.
I saw this movie in the cinema and it was great, the squirrel he calls scrat and for me is the real protagonist 😂 Of the entire franchise, this is the best 😀😀
I LOVE ICE AGE! This is one of my all time favorite animated movies and it will always be a classic that holds a special place in my heart. I actually have a lot to say about this film and if I could I would give you a highly detailed, in-depth review but I'm going to keep it short and simple.
No, Saber toothed cats existed. And for a long time. But Michelle is right: They got in their way and it may have helped their extinction. They were for spearing and killing their prey, but they kept getting bigger generationaly until they were a hinderance.
Lots of iconic parts in this film, like Scrat’s antics, Sid getting in trouble with Frank and Carl the brontothere brothers, and the tragic story of what happened to Manny's wife and son (yes, he wasn't the baby in the cave paintings, he was the dad). Fun fact, Don Bluth, the original director of The Land Before Time, was involved with the development of Ice Age. I guess you could say that IA is like the spiritual sequel to LBT. Also, maybe a number of these species are not extinct like we may think. Sadly, the series has nowadays succumbed to sequel-itis.
@TheHomies bring all 7 girls together Michelle, Ellie, Viki, Lia, Magy, Blue and Laura you should all watch these movies: Downfall (Der untergang) - 2004 Snakes on a plane - 2006 Mamma mia - 2008 Mamma mia here we go again - 2018 The naked gun from the files of police squad - 1988 The naked gun 2 1/2 the smell of fear - 1991 The naked gun 33 1/3 the final insult - 1994 The lion king 2 Simba's pride - 1998 The lion king 1 1/2 - 2004 Everyone's hero - 2006 Dinosaur - 2000 Major league - 1989 3 ninjas - 1992 3 ninjas kick back - 1994 3 ninjas knuckle up - 1995 3 ninjas high noon at mega mountain - 1998 Michael Jackson's this is it - 2009 Police academy - 1984 Blazing saddles - 1974 Spaceballs - 1987 Ted 2 - 2015 Dawn of the dead - 2004 World trade center - 2006 United 93 - 2006 Scooby doo - 2002 Scooby doo 2 monsters unleashed - 2004 Garfield - 2004 Garfield a tail of two kitties - 2006 Ice age the meltdown - 2006 Ice age dawn of the dinosaurs - 2009 Ice age continental drift - 2012 Ice age collision course - 2016 Olympus has fallen - 2013 London has fallen - 2016 Angel has fallen - 2019 White house down - 2013 Air force one - 1997 The house bunny - 2008 The transformers the movie - 1986 The super mario bros movie - 2023 Saving private ryan - 1998 Fury - 2014 Home alone 3 - 1997
Manny returning the baby to the father cause didn't want the father to go through what he did losing his family always thought Manny was the baby in the cave picture but he was actually the father mammoth
10/10 Wish All Animated Films Were This Good! I'd have to say this is one of the best animated films I've ever seen. I liked it the first time but really appreciated it on the second viewing, just a few weeks ago. I can see why sequel is doing such great business at the box office. Apparently, a lot of people liked this movie. A gorgeous color palette (man, this looks good) and a lot of good adult (but clean) humor make this a big winner. The opening 3-4-minute scene with "Scat," is excellent as are subsequent interludes with him. "Sid" the sloth (voiced by John Leguizano), however, provides the main humor in the movie. He usually has something funny to say throughout the movie. Ray Romano is the voice of the mammoth, the big character of the film, literally, while Denis Leary is the ferocious bad-guy-turned-good sabertooth tiger This isn't just humor and pretty colors but a nice, sentimental story of how a little baby softens up a couple of tough characters. This isn't interrupted with a lot of songs, either: one only brief one and there is nothing offensive, language-wise.
It's insane how massive the Ice Age franchise was at the box office, especially overseas. The third film at the time was the second highest grossing animated film behind Shrek 2!
Hi ladies 🌹🌹🌹🌹❤ Thank you for sharing with us your reaction and the choice of movies and animations is very accurate...thnx If I can suggest you a movie titled : Baby's day out (1994) It's a comedy, funny and original idea of a movie Waiting your next reaction 🙂🌹🌹🌹🌹❤️
I watched this film when I was a child, but I wanted to ask you if you could continue watching Demon Slayer, it would be very cool because the third season is already finished.
It's strange to hear the original speech, I seen most of the Ice Age movie on Danish TV, but they were with Danish speach. 😊 To me it sounds like the Mammuts voice is by "Ray Romano" Thanks for your always great reactions 😊😊
Thats because it is infact Ray Romano doing Mannys voice :P Funny thing is even Mannys face is modeled alot on Ray Romanos real face, particularly the eyes and the upper part of the trunk... while ive never been a fan of his comedy, he's definitely and always will be 'Manny the Mammoth'.
Fun fact: Denis Leary, who voices Diego in the franchise, explains that his character originally died near at the end of the film. And some of the kids in the test audiences burst into tears when his death was shown. So Denis warned the producers that something like this would happen. Until he came up with the final voice and trademark lateral lisp for the character after watching Discovery Channel footage of sloths and learning that they store food in the pockets of their mouths which ferments over time.
I remember that Leguizamo told in an interview that it was from a guy who sold vegetables who talked like Sid did & that was the inspiration.
Small correction, in the cave paintings, Manny is the older mammoth and he lost his wife and child exactly how the human did.
Manny is also overprotective of his wife Ellie and their daughter Peaches in the sequels.
She has the best reactions.
You can read it all in her face. So touching.
Ice Age is probably the most underrated franchise of all time. Sid is my favorite character in all of the Ice Age films
It's interesting how much talking animal animated films dominated the 2000s. We've had the Shrek, Ice Age and Madagascar franchise, Over the Hedge, Barnyard, and Open Season in 2006, and Kung Fu Panda was just starting.
That Manny back story is TOO much though. Don't make me cry because mammoth's die.
Love ICE AGE. Love the baby. CUTE!!!!!!
Definitely NOT THE MOST UNDERRATED ONE, it's literally one of the franchise ppl talk about the most and the movies are rly famous
I believe it's rated properly. It's highly touted considering it's not an Academy Award winner.
When Manny saw the drawing in the cave, I found out that it reminded him of his wife and children he had.
"Rhinos are actually the one true unicorns of this world."
Well, not fully, unicorn basically means 'one-horn' and rhinos have two. They are pretty much the closest thing to one, though.
I work with a retired Savannah College of Art and Design professor who worked on Ice Age and a bunch of other movies as an animator.
7:20 if you want to know what happend to this woman.
She probably broke both of her legs and was very tired, she knew she can't take care of her baby, but was happy that her boy lived. Really beautiful how it shows the love of mother to her child.

No lol maybe she was just dying
I'm so glad you guys are watching Ice Age. I grew with the franchise and to this day is one of my favorite franchises I grew up with. Scrat was by far my favorite character of the franchise
Scrat is the best.
Alongside Sid❤
This was honestly one of my favorite movies as a kid, it’s so underrated. Haven’t seen this movie in so long, so glad you guys did a group reaction to this, can’t wait to re-experience this with you!!❤
Scrat ( the squirrel kinda thing) steals the franchise for me😂. Really? wow, I'm impressed
You guys better watch all of the 5 movies😂
One of my favorite movies. I watched it when I was 8 years old and I loved so much. This was a very good reaction I can't believe that all of you finally reacted to ice age (2002)🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤ now it's time for ice age 2.

My tattoo artist was so excited when i asked for a Scrat tattoo, he's my favorite lol
I would leave me to tear if we meet that baby again in other movies but grown up , you know! ....
Oh man! John leguizamo, denis Leary, ray romano…fav artists 💯
Originally, Scrat was a completely made-up creature for this movie. Some time after its release, the remains of an ice age animal were discovered which looked remarkably similar to Scrat.
Fantastic movie! Great reaction Homies! Ellie is the M.V.P. of emotions!
Ellie is such a sweet heart when she cries I just wanna give her a hug and say it's gonna be okay :,)
2:04 "Who is voice-overing this?" That's the director of the film, Chris Wedge, voicing the acorn-obsessed Scrat.
For me this is a best franchise of animations..Sid is hilarious 😂.. thanks for react to this movie homies ❤
The Ice Age is one of the best childhood fairy tales🎉
He wasn’t the baby he was the father that lost his family
Fun Fact: The Line that manny says, "Yup, still faithful" is a reference to the U.S. Landmark geyser Old Faithful.
I would love for you guys to react to all of the ice ages and if you wondering, the next ice age would be “ice age meltdown”
4:39 oh these tigers do exist alright, they are called Smilodon “Sabertooth Tigers”
This was a favorite from my childhood. I get nothing but good memories from this film. I especially love the little squirrel trying to keep his acorn safe🤣🤣

So awesome watching you ladies watch some of my favorite childhood movies. Please watch the second one. It’s great.
I saw this movie in the cinema and it was great, the squirrel he calls scrat and for me is the real protagonist 😂
Of the entire franchise, this is the best 😀😀
That squirrel, named SCRAT, is voiced by the DIRECTOR of the franchise throughout the trilogy
I didn't know until years later that Soto the Smilodon leader was voiced by Goran Višnjić who played Dr. Luka Kovač in ER.
The best of BLUE SKY!! ❤
How do so many reactors end up thinking Manny was the baby? The human baby is clearly a stand-in for the baby he lost. I got that when I was a kid.
😂😂😂 Ice age 1 of the best cartoon comedy adventure films ever. Please watch them all Homies I will love your reactions ❤
Manny is one of childhood heroes 😄
I LOVE ICE AGE! This is one of my all time favorite animated movies and it will always be a classic that holds a special place in my heart. I actually have a lot to say about this film and if I could I would give you a highly detailed, in-depth review but I'm going to keep it short and simple.

An animated movie I recommend for the holiday season is Rise of the Guardians
Excellent choice!😁Such a sweet movie😁So funny.great adventure😁 Perfect for pre-New Year mood😁I'm glad you enjoyed it😊 Greetings from Serbia😊
I'm in love with Viki, she's so beautiful. Other girs are stunning, too, but Viki is... I don't know, something else.
Suggestion: The Fly from 1986.
No, Manny was the dad who lost his wife & kid because of the humans.
When the picture of the mamuts came out, i always thought that many was the dad, not the baby
Grand father of mowgli .. 😮😮😅😂❤
"WHERE'S THE BABY?"😅😅😅...Merry Christmas 🎅 Ladies

Let's go watching ICE AGE 2,3,4 and 5. Go watching Home Alone 3.
These movies are one of the best
Can you lady's watch Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.
Ice Age should've ended after the first or the second one, the other movies really don't match the first two in tone.
You guys need to react to the last Shrek movie, I'm sure you're gonna enjoy it :) and Thanks for reacting to this awesome childhood movie!

It's strange to hear the original speech, I seen most of the Ice Age movie on Danish TV, but they were with Danish speach. 😊 To me it sounds like the Mammuts voice is by "Ray Romano"
Thanks for your always great reactions 😊😊
Thats because it is infact Ray Romano doing Mannys voice :P
Funny thing is even Mannys face is modeled alot on Ray Romanos real face, particularly the eyes and the upper part of the trunk... while ive never been a fan of his comedy, he's definitely and always will be 'Manny the Mammoth'.
