Back to Basics - Making an EDC Fixed Blade Knife from a File with Simple Tools

It's easy to make excuses about not being prepared enough to start a project. Not having the right tools is a common one for me. Sometimes I have to remind myself that once upon a time all I had was a bench, vise, hack saw, drill, and some hammers and I still managed to make stuff.
In this video I dial it back and just get to making myself a new pocket knife even though I don't have all those fancy knife making tools.

I started making a knife from a filet he same thickness as that one. Have a nice profile cut out ready to go. Grinding in the bevels on a 1 x 30 bench sander. Feels like I’ve been grinding it for two weeks already. LOL

Awesome! If I had to do it over again, I'd grind the blade thinner. I still carry this knife daily and it's very tough and useful, but pretty fat. For example, while cutting up an apple, it doesn't slice and slip through the apple, it kind of wedges its way through. Cheers
