- Let fresh air in while keeping rain, snow and heat out. Here is a video showing you how to install your WeatherTech® Side Window Deflectors.
WeatherTech® Side Window Deflectors are designed, engineered and manufactured for quality performance and a perfect fit. Авто/Мото
The included instructions make it seem much more difficult than it actually is. It actually is as easy and simple as the video shows.
LOL I know right?
right? i wasn’t sure what they meant by “MAKE SURE IT’S OUTSIDE THE WEATHER STRIPPING” but they’re just like “make sure your wind deflector isn’t literally inside your car to the point where your window won’t roll up” lmao
Update 1/26/2022-I have removed the Weathertech deflectors from my Honda. They just will not stay in place. I followed instructions to the T. If they had an adhesive strip on them that would work. I had an 04 CRV that I put OEM deflectors on. They had adhesive strips. They stayed in place.
@@bryanmchugh1307, I also have a 2004 CRV but it seems Honda doesn't sell these OEM deflectors anymore. I'm still looking a substitute. Did you have any luck with other deflectors? Or maybe adding a 3M double-sided tape to WeatherTech could glue it in place?
@@LLF1234 I regret trading in my 04 CRV. The OEM deflectors for my 2018 CRV are HORRIBLE. They are off the vehicle now and sitting in my garage collecting dust. The 2004 CRV had a lot going for it that the new ones do not. For example the rear glass opens independently of the hatch leaving you with the ability to have really long objects sticking out the back window. My new CRV does not have that.
I hope everyone runs into this video. The best and most simple explanation possible.
Best way to add 30 hp to any car!
@M Detlef You're the stupid one seeing as you don't get obvious sarcasm..
Hahahahahaha
Did you know if you put lighting bolts on your car you accererate twice as fast.🤪😅

Worked like a charm! Now I can leave my windows down a bit in the rain, or when thunderstorms are predicted! 🙂 Thank you for the excellent video! ❤
I've used these deflectors on three different vehicles over the past 12 years. They work great and are made to last. They stay put and have never come loose. A quality product.
florret2003 have you ever used the clips for the back windows. I installed them according to the video and then noticed the clips after. U think they will be ok without them ?
@@mjd3426 Hey! I never used the clips. I drive a tacoma, i go off roading a lot so a lot of bumpy terrain, theyve never fallen off. Even after a roll over collision the front and back window deflectors w no clips didnt move. My truck was literally totaled after flipping and sliding on its roof, and the only thing wrong with the deflectors was scratches... theyre tough as hell. From what ive heard they may be needed on other vehicles but ive never needed them for my truck. Just install them properly in the evening, weathertech recommends letting it sit for 12 hrs the first time w the windows closed, so overnight and youll be good in the morning. Hope that helps! Just bought my second pair
Thanks, I was looking for a honest review before I bought them.
Can you take off the WeatherTech logo stickers without leaving a residue?
What keeps them in the window groove? Seems like they would fall out
Weather Tech window deflectors front and rear of my sedan were a breeze to install, no trouble here. The sleek look is also ahead of AVS. I will always be a customer now after installing a Weather Tech product. Thank You Weather Tech! Kudos!
Installed my front and rear Weather Tech window deflectors for my 2013 335i F30 last week. Just followed your videos.
Thank you for the first tip! nearly sent mine back because the window kept getting stuck and I couldn't figure out why, now they're fitted and working fine :)
This is a really helpful installation video. Thank you! Wish I had watched it six years ago when I was installing these deflectors on my 2015 Silverado. I got them on, but it was a challenge. Later I lost a rear deflector in the carwash. Glad to see the adhesive tape added. That seems to be just what is needed. Ordered a full set today for my 2022 Silverado. If my wife likes them, I will order a set for her Highlander.
Just received my front and rear deflectors for my Volvo XC70. Cannot wait to install them :)
Thank you, this is probably the most detailed explanation/guide.
Had no problems easy installation put these on my 2013 Acura TL SHAWD and they kick ass! When I had just got done putting these in put up the windows 2 -3 times on each one and that was it couldn't be any happier got all 4 for my car easy easy easy and I only paid $96.75.
Watching this I feel i can do it now. Gonna order for my 2016 snooty X3 saddle bag interior :)
The video cleared up all my questions, it made instillation simple and easy, thanks!
Thanks for this video , help me a lot 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you so much for the video!!👍🤙🤙
Much preferred than reading traditional directions!
I love my WeatherTech delectors. Easy to install on my Saturn Vue 2007 (yeah, it took me years to decide to get them).
My advice, be patient and watch a few videos, and make sure to seat the deflectors on the "outer" rubber lips/channels (my Vue has an inner lip on the front windows, and my deflector's rear flange slid into the wrong one and the window would bump into it...took me a minute to figure this out and correct it).
Easy Peazey install after watching this video! Thanks WeatherTech!
Super easy. Installed on my Expedition in less than 15 minutes.
Excellent tutorial, thanks.
Great video, made install easy and less worry some. I thought I was going to snap them 🤦🏼♂️
Excellent!
I just purchased the weather tech sunshades. Window deflectors next. 👍🏻😊
How do you mount the rear deflectors on 01 F150 extended cab? They fold out...No channel..
Mine just arrived. I chose them knowing I was paying double price compared to the average window visors I've installed on other cars. But these don't show the flange at the top like the others. On a black background, like on my Lincoln, that's not distracting. But on my red Tacoma truck it would be. I hate paying $17 for shipping under two pounds of plastic, but ...
I went to the Weathertech website for instructions, since the page of bi-lingual instructions were inadequate. Nope, that internet page wasn't available; it is"under construction." So I found this video. Thanks for that!!
I saw another video here where the owner cracked his front visor trying to remove it, and he had trouble getting customer service to help him. So I was extra careful on my install. My front visors were very tight. I almost gave up at one point, afraid I'd crack one too. But I kept slowly working it into the channel until I saw the gasket seal was folding inward from the pressure from the visor insertion! I had to slowly and gently pull about 5 inches of the gasket outward from the grip of the visor, taking care to not tear that fragile gasket material. Then the visor went into place.
On the back window I tried to slide the visor up into the channel to check for correct fit first. It got stuck on BOTH sides in the channel by its sharp end-edges digging into that same gasket material. If I pulled it down it would easily rip the gasket. So I left the (now) hidden end pieces of adhesive tape cover in place and (luckily) pulled the top tape cover off before sliding the visor up into the channel.
I followed the directions here and slowly brought the windows up fully. When done with that I stepped back and heaved a sigh of relief. Then I heard a snap from the right front passenger window, close to where I stood. I don't know what snapped, but it was a clear, distinctive sound. I don't (yet) see any cracks in the glass or the visor, but I have yet to lower any windows because of the instructions to leave them up for 12 hours. I'll update if there's a real problem.
Just thought I'd share and hope others take it SLOWLY when installing these.
What car did you install these on? What's the update? What cracked?
Same question... Follow up??
@@2LadyDi I put these on my red Toyota Tacoma truck. Took a couple minutes longer than the cheaper types, but look great. Nothing "cracked."
@@MikeUpie great. I'll try to install mine when it's less rainy here in MD. I had AVS on it when I purchased it. Long story as to why I am where I am now. Anyhow, thank you for the follow up. Hopefully my 17 Buick SUV will look better, almost like it did when I purchased it in October.
@@2LadyDi FWIW- because cold temps make plastic more likely to crack, you may wanna WARM the plastic before putting it over your car's windows. Seriously.
Cleaned and lubricated the window channels, washed the windows, and installed the two front deflectors on a Jeep Liberty, all in less then 20 minutes. Was very easy, no windows were broken and so far so good.
How do you lubricate a window channel
@@micaanthonyjr6914 Spray some silicon spray in the window channels, windows up and down a few times... done!
had them for 2019 f-150 window would not shut had them installed at a dealer have they improved that problem?
Is it possible to install side rain guards on a car with a J Crew top
Very good video
Just installed mine on an Optima. Took me about 5 minutes max. Heard a cracking sound come from both rear deflectors as i slowly sent the windows up. Not sure if they actually cracked them but i can't see any evidence of it, unless it cracked the flange where i can't see.
so no adhesive for the front? how does it stay on?
I am having the hardest time getting the deflectors to stay on the front windows. I have a 2016 Subaru Crosstrek. The front of the deflector keeps sliding off the clips! (clips are not shown in the video, btw) So frustrated! I thought I had the passenger side on very nicely and then I went thru a carwash and it slipped off the clip!! Anyone have any suggestions? WeatherTech?
Thanks for the video. Only wish that the back windows had the weathertech label. Was hard to figure out the left side from the right side
After 11 years my rear visor adhesive finally gave out and it fell luckily it was still in the channel
Going to do them this weekend
Just ordered mine for my 2006 Honda Ridgeline can't wait to get them
Do I need to remove these protectors before having front windows tinted ? If so , do you have a link for proper way to remove front window protectors.
Just a heads up, if you use auto roll-up on your front window it would roll-up then roll back down half way. Make sure you hold the roll-up button all the way for it to close.
Yea this happens to me on occasion
Having issue installing on ex35. If you insert behind the deal the Windows no longer go up. It's not exactly like video. The weather rubber strip is thick as heck. I need help. Do you have one video on an ex35 2008? You will see that it doesn't fit.
I installed them on my 2013 F-450. The rear side window vents did not have any type of adhesive, as shown in the video. A few times one or the other one would come loose (rear side windows only) I used Elmers glue and that held them for a while. Should my side rear window vents have had the adhesive? Other than that, I love them.
Do they fit a 1995 Honda Accord wagon?
I have the clips and adesive , do I use both ?
Very easy installation. Like Bryan McHugh said, instructions seem much harder on paper than this video. Watched this video and went straight outside to install them and took less than 10minutes.
my deflectors came with some clips... they didn't show that in this video
What car do you have
So did mine. Some models vary from this video. My rears had clips and none of them had adhesive. 2017 Ford Fusion.
Same for me. No adhesive! Who's idea was THAT??

Mines didn't come w/ neither front or back adhesive straps. Just 4 of those flat metal plates. I'm assuming for the 2 back window..so now what ? Any video or suggestions on how to Install then. For a 2017 nissan sentra SR. Pls & thxx
nice..thanks
Update....2016 Toyota camry...finally installed correctly after 3 days...video makes it look easy but you really have to push on them to go in the window channel...love it now
I followed the instructions but for the 2008 Sienna, as soon as I closed the window, the front end started slipping into the weatherstrip.
I got mine it seemed to big but costumer service said they would fit I was afraid it was going to break and had my dad install it and BOOM IT BROKE!! they refused to replace it said it was because of installation improperly but he did just as instructed so guess I have 3 new visors in a box and just a front set costs 60$. I’m still mad!
So it’s not worth getting them ?
I live in New York, and I would like to know if the out side temp. has a impact on the install.
You may have an easier time with installation in warmer temperatures. If you'd like to know more about the best conditions for installation, you can give our Customer Service team a call at (800) 441-6287
Just gave up with trying to get the rear deflectors installed with the clips for the second time. They fell out at 30 mph so going with 3M tape. If they fall out, in the trash they go and I'll look at another product. Not giving them a third chance this was on a 2016 Honda Civic, maybe for another car they'll work fine but I give up on this Civic. The front was not much better, busted the right side trying to install the deflector, had to order a replacement so now I have a spare for the driver side which is a waste.
So what happens to the front lip hanging on the outside of the of the rubber channel? Does it go in automatically?
No
Does the vehicle need to be certain temp
So, that front corner of the front visor stays outside the window track forever? It never goes inside the window track??
I believe it's for two reasons:
1. If the corner is inside the window track, it still stop the window from rolling up (or break the window or the deflector depending on how smart your car is to automatically lower an obstructed window!)
2. You want rain and wind that hits the deflector to be, you guessed it, deflected *away*, not inside the window track
Are these the light tint or dark tint version?
Both
Can you reuse them?
I bought a set of these directly from Weathertech because I heard that they were giving people a hard time if they bought them from a different vendor. I just put them in no issues with the installation process but the driver window is hitting the back corner of the vent shade and goes back down. I pulled it out to allowed the window to close. I will let it sit for the next 48 hours before I roll my window down. Hopefully it fixes itself.
Did this work??
I got the same issue with mine. I’m not sure I want to keep them or not. I don’t want to burn up the motor or pull of the regulators.
Just got 80513 for my wife car for Christmas. Now, I am a mechanic and have customize cars. Going to have to call weather tech on passenger side window issue. I install them yesterday and check later on if having a problem with the passenger side. Window goes up and then back down. I do hope it seats and I did follow the instruction to the tee. Hmm, thought they were made in the USA, these day make in Germany.
I got the front ones on my 2021 Honda Civic Hatchback EX but the back window ones are to short. They sent me ones for a 2016
Can these be installed and then uninstalled depending on the weather? I would only need them if it's raining.
+Peter Bastress Our side window deflectors are made so they can stay on your vehicle year round!
Anybody know how to remove the Weather Tech stickers that's on the end of the deflector?
Put alittle heat on them with a hair dryer.
Sooooo.....the front is way easy
But the back i have to use clips with minds with no adhesive
So is there a video for that
Just want to make sure I did it right
I had a Jeep renegade, the the ones I bought came with clips and no adhesive, had my windows open on a bridge and they flew right off. Luckily the car behind me dodge it. I’m sure the ones with adhesive works great, if yours comes with clips return that shit or buy adhesive to keep it in place.
I used adhesive on mine that had clips. They came off anyway. It's a terrible design.
I honestly hate rain deflectors. But these ones are an exception because they look so clean.
These are nice, but damn expensive! Also, in the video It said don't put the front down in the window, does it go in at last step?
No it will continue to rest on the sill.
How do you remove them when buying a different car?
so installed these on two cars, g37 and sonata. both were easy as cake on the drivers side but on the passenger, they both broke off a little bit of the edge clip. they installed better with the piece broken and rest great but i'm worried if it will blow off or something. is this ok to keep like this or should i contact weathertech for a replacement?
i will note that they are NOT as flexible as shown in this video, just bending it slightly, made it crack.... i was very disappointed by that.
Please give our Customer Service team a call and let them know what happened - (800) 441-6287. They should be able to help you out.
+xxx4reggie Check Amazon and use their car 'fitter' tool. There may be models that fit, but don't say they will on the WeatherTech website. I got some for my 2012 civic and their website says they don't make any. However, the models for the previous year civic are exactly the same size.
Installed these on my 2012 Highlander and the front windows would automatically go back down as if something was in the way. The power window motor struggled to put the window all the way up. The same with the rear sets. I had to ride around with them partly open. I finally took them off. Very expensive to not work. So far out of all the products I purchased from them, this is the only one that gave me trouble.
Awh fuck hope they work for my moms highlander just bought them for her for Christmas
Describes the same problem I had trying to install these on my 2016 Honda Pilot. Followed their instructions to slowly roll up and down, and "force" the window all the way up. The window eventually stopped working at all, and now I have to have my power window fixed! Very disappointed!
Remember to pull outward on the deflector while rolling up the window, to help make sure it's sitting against the outside of the channel. This will reduce the interference with the window.
Anyone have an idea how to remove them?
I recieved 2 black clips for the rear window deflectors do i have to use them if so how do i install them?
Mine came with clips to and yes I needed them, you can call to double check, honestly they are kind of a pain but just take your time and follow the directions

+Christopher Go If you give our Customer Service team a quick call they should have some tips to help you out: (800)441-6287
did they ever give you a fix for this? im having the same issue on my subaru
No fix. Even went to the dealer if there was any way to reset the safety feature. Went to weathertechs facility too. They said everything was installed correctly. It has settled in and gotten better over time, but still kicks down every now and then. If that happens, I just raise the window until there's a tiny gap. Then close the window completely. If not, just keep raising it until it kicks down until the safety feature is ternporarily overridden.
Christopher Go thanks for the reply. next time I'll go with exterior mounted guards lol
How well do they remain in place when driving at highway speed with the window rolled down?
Got to 150mph at the dragstrip and these held in place fine.
when are these going to be available for the 2015 Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon?
I do not currently have an ETA for your vehicle. I would recommend filling out our Product Request Form: www.weathertech.com/service/product-request-form/. This tool allows us to see the products our customers would like for their vehicles. It also allows us to notify you if/when the product you’re looking for becomes available.
I bought these for my 2011 Bmw 328i, I put them on but when I put my window up it goes back down?
***** i did the same thing lol
It should also be told in your instructional video, that the piece at 0:52 REMAINS there on top, you do NOT eventually slide that front into the channel liike the other parts of the deflector. Is that correct?
I've seen other RUclips videos stuffing that piece into the window channel. Some people will think you do shove it inside the channel as the last step. You might want to clear that up. Otherwise great video! :)
+Karen C Thanks for your feedback! :)
I’ve been searching this comment thread specifically for this. Thank you for clearing that up! Also, WeatherTech commenting to confirm that you’re correct is a big plus. It’s a small mistake that shouldn’t be judged too harshly but so many companies out there would ignore this and not give you credit! Good on them
I am confused by your comment, and @WeatherTech didn't follow-up w a comment that made it make sense.
Put it on twice on a Volvo XC70, but kept breaking the flanges. Watched video several times, and also other RUclips videos on installation. Had done installation previously on three other cars, include a Volvo 18 years ago--which is still in and working well.
I kept breaking the flanges on the front window ones--it was not possible to keep the rear of the deflector at a 1/2 inch gap, due to the extreme slope of the Volvo XC70's front window--as I rolled up from the front, the rear would rise at the way to the top; and then midway, the deflector would get caught between the window seal. When I think it is finally installed in channel and bring the window up, there is a cracking sound and the flange would break--once at the front flange, twice on the rear flange.
I don't know where the broken flange pieces went, must have dropped inside my window. Good thing Weathertech sent me replacements. I will hold off until warmer weather to try to reinstall again. Have not taken out the one with the front broken flange yet--and maybe that's why I am getting wind noise.
These are a lot thinner than the ones I got for my Volvo 18 years ago--significantly so--maybe that's why they break at the flange--don't know. The Volvo XC70 has a very slopping and long front window--very hard to install. Was thinking of getting another brand next time if it does not work out. (The rears are fine.)

Front deflector for 2018 didn’t worked. Window hits and can’t close . Maybe design flaw.
How come the video says to lower the window all the way yet phone customer service to only lower a few inches ?
Either way should work, George. With the windows all the way down you will just have more leverage room for installing the Side Window Deflectors.
Funny how #weathertech can respond to this post but to no one else.

My window not going all the way up .why?
My visor wants to pull out when I roll the window down. What the hell?
what about the clips?
Make some for the 3rd gen Acura rdx already!
My front Windows wont go up all the way with these. Why not?
The "all the way" up setting is just a hair lower than without using the rain guards. Because of how they are designed with the small lip sitting between the rubber and the window this will happen. Most cars should have a feature to set the full up/down length of the window. You should check your cars manual and if all else fails go to or call the dealer and explain that you installed these and your cars window doesn't stop trying to go up when it hits the top.
