+houseofaction OR MAYBE, he did that to be funny. "Just in case you didn't catch that." I think he probably played it at the same tempo just to fuck around before he actually slowed it down.
I graduated in 1978....I know, I’m ancient! I never could make the snare line....my friend, the section leader, taught me how to play triples....he sacrificed playing on the snare line to playing triples with me! You are very talented young man!!!!!! 🥁
"Let me slow that down for you!" *Plays 10bpm faster* "Just incase you didn't catch it, let me break that down a little slower even though the music is on the screen for you!" *Plays 200bpm slower*
As a self taught drummer this stuff is out of this world. I watched this and in my head could picture me playing it, but when I saw the sheet music I was thrown off so bad.
Nate Larson duuuuuude I can’t imagine being self taught percussion. I’m a self taught pianist but I can read sheets because of percussion lessons. Rhythmically I wouldn’t be able to read for shit if I hadn’t been taught lmao
I'm a bass drummer, quad player, snare player, xylophone, cymbals, timpani, pretty much every other percussion instrument, guitar, piano and flute. And I'm here too XD
Excellent. You can tell that he is very dedicated. His technique is evidence of long hours of woodsheding. There are a lot of little lessons in the big picture that a player can practice. There are many drummers today that hide behind a large kit. Simply play a snare and one will be exposed immediately. You can not hide. You must have chops.
Which sticks are you playing with? I used to play with KP2's, but they are no longer available in South Africa now I am searching for a somewhat similar drumstick...
Cobus Becker he is using the Mike Jackson signature stick. My high school like uses them and we love them, we are switching to Roger Carter Signature sticks soon which are also great.
Derek Westbrook thanks Derek! I'm hoping for that. But I'll bet my bollocks these blokes been playing longer than a year! Technique gives it away. Even a beginner like me notices great technique. I believe they learned through someone-likely many- in the journey that got them here.
You know, theres a lot of comments pushing this luck to be very hard when in reality you just need to play at an adequate at least highschool level and just have some time on your hands. I can say this since I really am in Highschool and I really did put a lot of time into it. Its not perfect and not up to tempo im about 30 bpm away from full tempo but this just goes to show that time is really your one and only limit when it comes to playing hard pieces of music or licks.
Don't watch videos the part at 1:31 cuz he screwed up, it's easier to go to the end when he plays it slower so that you can watch him playing correctly at an easy tempo
Jonah Wang all joking aside, I’d be impressed if someone could play clean at 5 bpm. It would take concentration and patience due to how unbelievably slow it is
this was one of my first licks i attempted to learn. i tried before i even knew how to hold sticks correctly. two years later, i can play this with ease. dont stop playing, no matter how frustrated you get.
this is not what you watch as a beginner to drop :) this is what you watch as a beginner to be inspired :) Daily practices of the basics Stick control Tempo And basic techniques are the foundations Then you get here again and learn this :) :)
For the second part of the ram you try teaching them ways to make it seem cool but I'd want to focus more on being able to play it before learning all the ways to make it cool. Also same with part 3
I never play the drums but I play the guitar. I'm trying to get in drum line currently in college and I also understand the music notes ... I'm just visualizing
So is there a link for the sheet music to this? I dont learn well from videos like this it would be nice to have the music on paper so I could break it down myself
The biggest lies ever told:
“It wasn’t me”
“I love you”
“Let me slow that down for you”
535 likes and no comments okAY
perfectly true!!!!!!!!!!!
Jackson Castellano ong
Jackson Castellano everytime I watch this I say when does he actually slow it down
😁🤦🏾♀️
"Let me slow that down for you"
*plays it faster
😂😂
👌
Hahahahaa
what do i expect
So true
"Let me slow down for you"
*SPEEDS THE F*** UP*
Yup
i was like bruh that's not slowing it down lmfao
"Let me slow that down for you" plays it 2 bpm slower
zach or logan Not even. i counted both times it took him exactly 7 seconds to complete the entire rudiment at both speeds
+houseofaction use a metronome! it is more reliable than ur counting in ur head
Quentin Randle not always. for example if he indeed slowed down it would not have taken exactly 7 seconds both times
***** it took exactly 7 seconds to complete both times
+houseofaction OR MAYBE, he did that to be funny. "Just in case you didn't catch that." I think he probably played it at the same tempo just to fuck around before he actually slowed it down.
Lolol "Now let me slow that down for you." *Plays it faster*
"Now let me break that down a liiiittle more." *Largo*
"lemme slow it down for you" BITTTCHHH
hahha LOL.. nice comment
Got me dead asf 😂😂😂😂😂😂
"Just in case you didn't catch that"... Yeah just in case
PJ Seals you suck in chingasos
PJ Seals you suck in chingasos
"Let me slow it down for you"; plays it blazingly fast with perfect technique
Took me a few minutes to get it down, but admittedly this is fun to play.
Minutes? 😭
"Lemme slow it down for you"Played it the same tempo
played it slightly faster lol
haha, I thought the same! :D
Was meant as a joke I'm sure!!
he played it faster
Yeah it was faster
This is incredibly simple. All you have to do is already be part of the Blue Devils. nbd
Pfft anyone could do that, I mean Brandon Olander did it at 16, I bet he couldn't even hold his sticks right.
He already was. He did Santa Clara Vanguard a while then played for Blue Devils.
Right 😂
He actually was in blue devils for a while
this cracked me up my dude. thanks I needed that.
"and now finally, all up to tempo"
>warp drive initiated
>have fun with those paradiddles
lmao have fun with those paradiddles
“My hands don’t play paradiddles. paradiddlediddles are fine of course but my hands don’t play paradiddles” (every percussionist ever)
Do you know the tempo of this lick
@@darynporter1732 at full speed he's playing at around 223bpm
"Now let me slow that down for you"
Ikr
I graduated in 1978....I know, I’m ancient! I never could make the snare line....my friend, the section leader, taught me how to play triples....he sacrificed playing on the snare line to playing triples with me! You are very talented young man!!!!!! 🥁
I was class of 78 too and played snare in the band. That’s cool that your buddy left the snare like to play triples with you! 👍👍
"Let me slow that down for you!" *Plays 10bpm faster*
"Just incase you didn't catch it, let me break that down a little slower even though the music is on the screen for you!" *Plays 200bpm slower*
It was a joke m8 also everyone's already commented that
This is so cool!! The break down makes it so much easier to learn as well. Good Job
I’m glad I’m here in case I need to play this on my bass clarinet
first rudimental video I've seen where they actually go through it bit by bit slowly, rather than just playing the video at half speed. really good.
Rhythmically I wouldn’t be able to read for shit if I hadn’t been taught lmao
wait I'm a guitarist, why am I here?
Jesus Christ me too my guy
Jesus Christ good to learn about the other instruments too? You were curious?
I'm a bass drummer, quad player, snare player, xylophone, cymbals, timpani, pretty much every other percussion instrument, guitar, piano and flute. And I'm here too XD
Mike Tython bcuz ur jealous
I’m a drummer that’s learning how to play bass guitar.....I’m here to remind myself where I come from......
Guys we get it already, he played it faster thanks for the extra 100 reminders
VicFirth hybrid rudiment lessons!!!!my hands have never felt better!!!!
"let me slow that down for you" *plays at same tempo*
ikr, fuck that fucker, i was with my drumsticks ready to play then yeah fuck im gonna play it at the same tempo
Shane McCollum faster
"Here, let me play it slower for you."
*plays full tempo*
Ryan Brown 😂😂😂
The perfect commercial for the vic firth slim pad. No name dropping the pad, just "wow that's a cool pad" from the viewers.
Let me slow that down for you... speeds up lol
"Let me slow it down" *plays it faster than before*
" *than before* "
How did he do kickflip with sticks?
I have watched this many times. I enjoy this lick. Thank you, Vic Firth & Emmanuel Deleon!
I love watching people play like this.
It's beautiful.
I like how at the beginning, he said he'd slow it down but then goes back to full tempo
Post a video of you playing "Lickety Split"! If it's good, we'll share it with our 580,000+ Facebook fans!
i play drumms too and i think this is awesome!
Which sticks are you playing with? I used to play with KP2's, but they are no longer available in South Africa now I am searching for a somewhat similar drumstick...
I had MS5 But I'd Recommend Colin McNutt
I actually looked harder and he is using Mike Jacksons
Cobus Becker he is using the Mike Jackson signature stick. My high school like uses them and we love them, we are switching to Roger Carter Signature sticks soon which are also great.
I've been looking for this for over 3 years
Nice, real nice.....would only take me about 2 yrs to learn that- hahaha!
Took me about a month to learn it but to be good enough to play it, it usually takes about a year of practice if you do it a lot
I need to rewind 20 years and start fresh. this guy is nuts!
I almost got it. I cant play it up to speed like that but i can play it at the medium slow tempo.
If I achieve the slow tempo I'll be proud with myself. :)
Same
Wow! Nice! 👍👍. I can play it (slower of course) but and having major issues with the stick flip!
Thanks for the very cool sticking and your playing is terrific! Thanks again I really enjoyed it....
Simple rhythms, BASIC sticking (like the paradiddles) and accents but insane stick flips/tricks.
Awesome! I’m brand new to drumming, but figure I should be able to play this “ram” in, say, 50 more years! Geeze!
Derek Westbrook thanks Derek! I'm hoping for that. But I'll bet my bollocks these blokes been playing longer than a year! Technique gives it away. Even a beginner like me notices great technique. I believe they learned through someone-likely many- in the journey that got them here.
Okay, that does it. I quit!
Mad skills , Emmanuel. Really!
I didn't know George Zimmerman plays Rudiments
You know, theres a lot of comments pushing this luck to be very hard when in reality you just need to play at an adequate at least highschool level and just have some time on your hands. Its not perfect and not up to tempo im about 30 bpm away from full tempo but this just goes to show that time is really your one and only limit when it comes to playing hard pieces of music or licks.
Please, could you tell about the sticks you're using ?
Thanks for the killer piano tutorial
i hope someone told him that his badge fell off his lanyard...
Kit Chatham I never noticed it until you said that
"Let me slow that down for you"
* plays as fast as humanely possible😂😂😂
Woooo! Very good My brody! Congratulations! tank you!
Amazing stick work. I'll never be able to do that.
+padistedor
Amazing stick work. You'll be able to do that one day as long as you practice :)
"Let me slow that down for you"
Plays same speed
"Just in case you STILL didn't catch that"
-__-
Oh my god this shit killed me
Estupendo, buenísimo... Emmanuel deberías ayudarnos más, más ejercicios. Gracias
Thanks Thar was a lot of fun to learn of course I can only play it at half speed but it's a lot of fun. Thanks again you sound great!
Amazing hands brother and a brilliant piece!
I wish you had the original BPM on here, I'm a tenor drum captain trying to get snare technique and music down
Can you put a link or tell me where I can find sheet music for this?
I gave up on all the paradidles, flimflams, and wham bam thank you mams, i just like to play and see what i can come up with 👍😎.
y'all should post a link to a pdf format of the lick as well, so that we can look over it after watching this video.
"let me slow that down for you"
*plays even faster*
Now I want to make a quad variation of this because of how cool it was.
Ok seriously tho, I wish there was a tenor drum lick as iconic and catchy as this one
YOU LOOK FABULOUS DOING THIS TRICK.
dude you look like Maui, keep the good work, respect!
Awesome lick. Wish I could play with that technique!
Today on “Things in my recommended feed”, I will be learning how to drum.
Lays been interested in learning this one but never could figure it out
I’m gonna learn this. Who else here is on that train? I have no use for it, just feel like I should.
Definitly, what i wanted to find. You are amazing (:
I don't even play this instrument or any sort of percussion but I liked the video
4:42 that kinda sounds like him playing
Im stuck at 1:31, does anyone have a tips on how I could learn that part?
Don't watch videos the part at 1:31 cuz he screwed up, it's easier to go to the end when he plays it slower so that you can watch him playing correctly at an easy tempo
I can easily play that.
At 5 bpm
Jonah Wang all joking aside, I’d be impressed if someone could play clean at 5 bpm. It would take concentration and patience due to how unbelievably slow it is
Richard Holland agreed
this was one of my first licks i attempted to learn. i tried before i even knew how to hold sticks correctly. two years later, i can play this with ease. dont stop playing, no matter how frustrated you get.
After you played the whole thing the first time you said, "Now let me slow that down for you", and then you played it even faster!
Excellent lesson.
I've got you guys sticks and their amazing
What’s the name of the sticks
Awesome. I find little bit hard on flipping the stick lol on that speed
Should I learn to play Traditional grip?? I am 20 years old, I I feel like I don´t have the time to build that tecnique, is it worth it?
"If you didn't catch that let me slow it down for you". *plays it twice as fast*
It would be awesome if y'all posted a link to a printable pdf of the sheet music to this.
Are there any sheets?
What sticks and pad I love the sounds they make! Great player subbed!
Wow can’t believe I learned this decently in a matter of an hour
Por favor, las técnicas de ejecución con las baquetas podrían ser en español para entender, gracias.
Is there anywhere I can get sheet music for this so I can teach it to my line without the video
Vic Firth is who makes my custom sticks
Ok, it's official I'm quitting drums and better start growing flowers in my backyard... This is too much.
Julio De Leon ethiopq
this is not what you watch as a beginner to drop :)
this is what you watch as a beginner to be inspired :)
Daily practices of the basics
Stick control
Tempo
And basic techniques are the foundations
Then you get here again and learn this :) :)
Julio De Leon I’m the opposite. This inspired me to play more.
@@rahult.r360 r/woooooooooooosh
what kind of flowers
I love that slowed down version👌🏾
Just finished learning it (i think) thanks!
Vic Firth MS5's and the Heavy Hitter Slim Pad :) my guy.
For the second part of the ram you try teaching them ways to make it seem cool but I'd want to focus more on being able to play it before learning all the ways to make it cool. Also same with part 3
Yo I died laughing when said lemme slow it down, then played it around the same tempo
I've got the ram down but I can't get it up to speed ;-; my left hand singles slow me down a ton.
Does it matter which way you crossover?
I never play the drums but I play the guitar. I'm trying to get in drum line currently in college and I also understand the music notes ... I'm just visualizing
When you look for drumming tutorials and your High School Drumline coach is hosting the video...Manny if you're reading this, wassup
Would he always say "This is under tempo guys, it should be easy," and then have it like 20 clicks faster?
Our high school doesnt even have a band director. We still have marching band
"lemme slow that down for ya" (plays even faster)
So is there a link for the sheet music to this? I dont learn well from videos like this it would be nice to have the music on paper so I could break it down myself
Screw it, I’m 40 years old, my day on the line is faded but I’m going to learn this...(slowly)
