Think Media pls help me! I have lost all sound on my MacBook Pro
bult-inoutput will not show up for me??
I used to use SoundCloud, but suddenly it stopped working. I was searching something that helps me to record the sound from Mac and I found your video. Thanks man it perfectly worked on my Mac.
You're kinda an idiot, you spent half the video showing how to record your screen when anyone wanting to record their screen with audio would already know how to do this. They would have had to find out their mac didn't record their internal audio for them to find this video..
Thanks for the tutorial. It's actually ridiculous that screen recording with internal audio is this complicated. It should be a selectable built in feature.
Kind of sound like a nerd no offense
Apple moment
So true windows have it idk why macs don’t 😢
@@jessicaayala2691 macs used to have it.... don't even get me started
I suspect the Intellectual Property Gestapo.
You recorded this two years ago. I just tried it, and it works. You have produced an amazing evergreen product (and saved me hours of frustration). Thank you.
Aight, just watched this tutorial. 7/29/23. And it's still working, the only thing that was different was 'system preferences'. Instead I just selected 'settings' and went to 'sound' and everything else was the same. I barely bought a mac like 3 weeks ago and I'm not super tech savvy, this was super easy to follow. Thank you brotha.
If you're like me and already got everything downloaded, setup and working correctly, but still need to keep coming back to this video every time you need to do a screen recording because there's too many steps to remember, here are the steps:
1. Audio MIDI Setup > Screen Record w/Audio
2. System Preferences > Sound > Output > Screen Record w/Audio
3. Quicktime > New Screen Recording > Options > Quicktime Player Input
Thanks!
Thank you
Hi Sorry, can anyone hear the voice while recording, I cant :((
For some reason it's not working anymore on my computer T _ T
Next to the plus and minus signs at the bottom of Audio MIDI Setup is a dropdown you can use to make the same changes he instructs us to do in System Preferences/Sound. It seems to me that people who go back and forth regularly should just leave the Setup in their dock and do everything from there.
Can someone please explain WHY do apple have to be so incredibly annoying to make a screen recorder that doesnt record sound. This baffles me. It's 2021...
If I had to guess probably to keep people from easily pirating content from the internet using solely their OS.

Thanks!
After like a year of starting to research this and then give up, I finally did the search again and OMG THIS VIDEO!!! THANK YOU!

this really helped alot, especially since im trying to make a youtube channel that has a commentary or something else but couldnt figure out how to until this. Thanks :)
What a simple solution to something that should honestly just be built in. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Your explanation was so clear and easy to follow. I love that you explained why you chose some settings over others; once I understood that, I could make the right choices for my system and route through my Scarlett interface instead of through my internal speakers (since my laptop is outside my recording booth). Bravo!
how'd you do it? I'm trying to hear audio through my Scarlett interface while recording in FL Studio...
thank u so much!! I've watched another videos that used the same program but I don't know why sometimes the audio sounded distorted but since I've made everything again but with your tutorial this time I haven't had any problems again and the audio sounds perfect✨

Thank you so much! Finally got the proper audio to record.
I was going crazy all night because I ran into this issue on OBS and Filmora. Thank you x100 💯
Thanks for the wonderful video, it helped me out tremendously. I did have one thing to add, however. At least in most recent release, (12.0.1), you don't need to go into sound preferences to switch between output devices once this is set up. You can simply click on the speaker/sound icon in the top bar and select internal audio or the screen record w/audio and it will switch.
Are you using macbook pro? If so, where's this icon? I can't find it, help pls
@@LoveLynetteTan I was using an m1 mac mini running Mac OS 12.0.1. I don't have access to a mac running the current release, but it was with the icons in the right of the top bar. From what I can see in screenshots, volume/sound control has been moved to the control center, which I'm not sure if/how the interactions are different. Maybe try clicking where it says sound, right clicking the sound section, or try editing the control center and see if there is an output section you could add. You might also be able to drag sound out of the control center and back into the top bar, though again I'm not sure.
@@asocial_nerd thanks bro! I figured it out! You're right. I just needed to drag and drop the sound icon onto the top bar and now I can just toggle. Great idea and so convenient!
Thank you! This is quite possibly the most helpful video AND comment section I've seen on RUclips.

I just wanted to say thank you. I watched about 3-4 videos claiming to capture internal audio with screen recordings, and they all click baited me.

Thank you Brother and BlackHole appreciate this great information got me up and running. All the best with your channel !!!
"You gotta just press record!" 😂
Thanks for real tho 👍🏾
For ppl who are using it for zoom meeting on MacBook. @6:18 The order on selecting devices is really important and makes sure to change your zoom audio setting to the same as the system. Use audio and mic testing to do a test recording. I watched tons of youtube videos to figure this out. I finally get it working becuz of this video. Thank you!!!!!!!
Oh damn that's why I have absolutly no sound this time ...TT
I changed the Zoom Audio settings. But still, when I am speaking there is no audio. No problem with the audio from the other end. My Zoom audio setting for Speaker is "Screen recording with audio" (new aggregate device added) and for the Mic is "Same as System"
@karina lai : it worked this time! thank you sO mUCH
@@sachinvariar as nobody can hear you in the meeting or you can't hear yourself in the recording?
maybe there is a solution for the first but idt it's possible for the latter. cause you are recording not from the mic! I'd stick to the normal setting of quicktime in this case, which records what sounds are around your computer....put sound at max and don't sneeze...
@@callysv8995 @Callys V I tried recording a Zoom meeting of around an hour since I was confident of recording in a Mac after my trial of recording a video! As a backup I had also Zoom inbuilt recording. After the meeting went well, I played the recording but then realized that there is no audio from either side!!! I also lost the Zoom recording since I closed the MacBook due to the frustration and may be Zoom quit the conversion of the recording and I could not locate that specific recording anywhere!! Now, I have reset the settings as you suggested and made peace with the fact that you cannot record a Zoom (may be other Apps for online meeting as well) meeting on MacBook and use a Windows laptop for that.
Best step by step results I've had in a long time. Thank you for this video!
OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN TRYING TO DO THIS ALL DAY WITH DIFFERENT APPLICATIONS ONLY TO FIND THIS VIDEO AT 8PM. I wish I had found this sooner. Thank you SO much
This was an absolutely helpful video, thank you. For those of you that try to record Zoom meetings with audio, it works but you need to also change the Audio Settings on Zoom screen. (It's at the bottom left corner)
Please tell me how to record audio in zoom meetings. i really need some help.
what did you select?
what settings would you have to put if you want to listen with bluetooth headphones but still want the screenrecording
thats exactly what im trying to figure out. ill let you know if I figure it out
SAme I don't know
Yeah been trying to figure it out and nothing
I wanna know too
Hey, I figured it out if anyone is wondering. Basically for the instructions at 6:09 instead of connecting it to the speakers, you select your bluetooth device. You want to follow the same format, select device first then BlackHole 16ch. You also want to make sure the Master Output is your device, not BlackHole
Got a last minute video call interview in the morning and was shitting bricks on having crappy audio from the computer. You, are a lifesaver 🙇♂
Thank you for taking the time to create this piece of content. It was perfect!
Thank you so much for the tutorial!! Here are my tips: (1) Use the 2ch one (2) to add your voice to the recording, add it "Quicktime Player Input", check the box next to the microphone you are using, and make sure to choose the one that has a number under the "In" column, NOT the "Out"... In my case I added my AirPods to the Quicktime Player Input where there was a 1 under "In" (this means it's using one channel for the input) ... (3) Make sure to change your Sound Output (controlled in the upper right of the mac OS) to "Screen Record w/ Audio" while recording, and switch it back to your normal headset/speakers when you're done.
the sound of mic is only coming out of one ear
thx bro! it helped me!
what's the diff between 2ch and 16ch? Thanks.
Between you and this video, I was able to figure this out. Thank you so much.
Thanks man, I wish I could give you multiple likes ... the part where you about making the output or speakers on top was key, another channel showed the same thing but not that part and I just couldn't get it to work.
Was my issue too!
This is just awesome! Thanks!! Yet to try it with Zoom but it definitely works.

Thank you for a simple, easy-to-follow, and most effective tutorial. Great job!
quick tip for anyone watching this, you don't have to go into setting every time you change your output, you can do it through the speaker icon on the top left ish of your screen (much faster)
So helpful! Thanks!
If you don't see the speaker icon click on the toggles button in the upper-right corner next to date, drag sound to the top ribbon (next to the other icons there) and drop.
I LOVEE UU
@ArtCouture i think you can also do it through system preferences
if you go to the "sound" section, there should be a checkbox at the bottom of your window that says "Show volume in menu bar"

Seriously? Where did you get the built in output? 6:05... to me this vid was good but looks outdated. There is no option for built in output.
@@Nonsequitor415 Yeah the new software does not have an built in output anymore, I personally created 2 multi output devices (one for my headphones and one for my AirPods), you can create one for speakers as well if you want that. Then just select which one you want to use from the dropdown menu in the right corner that appears when you click the audio output icon.

Did you ever figure it out?? I'm having the same issue. I wonder if it's different for the M1 chip Mac?
@@XakPhane Hi there! Just wanted to quickly share my experience here with this screen recording thing on a Mac since I have already overcome this stage.
Unfortunately, the video's instructions didn't work for me and...
Spoiler alert: I ended up using OBS.
There's also this app on App Store called Capto. But you'll have to buy the app. Not that expensive though. You can check it out, pretty cool app.
But I tried OBS first before purchasing anything since OBS is free.
And yes, OBS works and runs well on the Intel & M1 Macs.

I was having some trouble at first because my headphones are connected to my Macbook but I made it work! I selected my headphones in the Audi MIDI Setup "Screen Record W/ Audio" and this allows me to listen to the video lectures that I want to record on my headphones while the audio is captured in the recording.
The only downside is having to switch the audio output back and forth. I wish this setting would just work in QuickTime Play by selecting the "screen Record with Audio" without having to change the system settings. But you can't have everything... Thanks for the tutorial!
