Also... when creating the multi output device, I didn’t have “built in output” on my audio device list. I only had “MacBook Pro speakers” and “black hole 16ch” so I checked both of those and it worked. Just in case anyone else has this issue. Also, if you’re going to do a reaction video and you want to record your voice through a microphone and not have it also captured in the same audio recording as your screen recording (which you probably don’t want to do for ease of editing), make sure to only check “black hole 16ch” in the "quick time input" section. I looked at a couple of videos on this. Amazing! - you solved my problem. As a cameraman and editor I made a screen recording of a television report I filmed - with not sufficient audio... It's a a little complicated procedure, but it works!! Best regards from Germany, George.
thanks for this video! it is absurd to me that i had to search through like 6 youtube tutorials to find the answer to this that actually worked, because i am quite technologically inclined, but was stumped here.

Clear. Concise. I followed along. I learned how to implement exactly what I wanted to learn, gained insight to extra info and terminology. I also had no questions at the end of the video pertaining to why I came. as far as informational videos on YT go I am pretty sure this is the best one I have ever used. Easily. Subbed for sure.
GOD BLESS YOU, FINALLY, I FOUND SOMETHING THAT WORKS, YOU ARE AWESOME MAN!
Absolutely perfect tutorial. Still works almost exactly the same even 2 years later!
Thank you so much!!! This actually worked after watching 10 other videos and spending 2 hrs trying to find a solution! Best 9 mins spent today
I looked at a couple of videos on this. This was the first one I came across that got it right with two things for mac Sonoma 14.2. make sure in 'sound effects' that it is set to screen recording and if you have a scarlett solo, let it be first in the MIDI screen recording setup then "Built-in Output then Blackhole. Great job.
Followed the steps, except for when I had to select build-in output, I only had the option for MacBook Pro Speakers, and it all worked fine! Thank you!
THANK YOU SO MUCH! I really needed this for work and you just saved me so many hours of having to download youtube videos manually online
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
This worked for me. Been trying for days and countless forums and getting nowhere.
I really appreciate you - liked, subscribed and hit the bell!
Outstanding explanation and super easy step by step tutorial! I have been trying to avoid purchasing screen recording apps, as my needs are simple and I'm not interested in editing what I download. Thanks a ton!!!
