Like new series of a TV show, the first episode is usually called the Pilot episode. I thought it was only right that I start with a visit to the International Watch Company, IWC. There are many watch brands with associations to pilots and pilot style watches but I feel IWC is the most prominent one. Recent success with movies like Top Gun Maverick further cements IWC status as THE watch brand for pilot watches
At Watches and Wonder 2022, IWC also released a new material called Ceratanium. 5 years in development to produce this patented material combining ceramic and titanium. A new Top Gun model watch is made out of this new material along with other coloured ceramic Top Gun watches. Today we check out all of them!

I recently picked up the new Pilot Performance Chrono in Ceratanium (the new Mercedes-AMG F1 watch). It is simply amazing. IWC is doing some unbelievable work in ceramics these days.
IWC pulled me in recently as well with their titanium/ceramic and color mixes. I like the idea that you can own one when you want and not have to be filtered or discriminated like some watch brands are doing. The ceratanium < 41mm is next on my list.
IWC watches are built like a tank! They still have a waiting time on some of their pieces but they are upfront about it.
I went by the same boutique to inquire about the IWC Ingy and got to speak with Jonathan as well.
It is indeed a breath of fresh air having to hear an honest reply on delivery and volume which could only be done via the boutique.
Glad you got to meet Jonanthan! Did they have the ingy in stores to try on yet? I been wanting to try it
@@WatchYourFront_they did have it during the time frame of mid may, but only the black and white dial samples. However, deliveries of black and white were made only for the VVIPs of IWC. Aqua was expected much later.
AMG Petronas is the one for me...Damn i like too many watches...
It's the best value for watch at this price range among all the watch brands. Titanium, 2 straps, Chroni with day date... Can't beat it!
Thanks for the new vid, appreciate the IWC boutique stop. That green big pilot is nice, but there’s just something about that 7 day power reserve dial.

@@WatchYourFront_ Yes I think 45 or 46mm, which is huge. However they do call it the Big Pilot, so we can’t begrudge them too much about it. Lol.

Would be great to know how much discount can they offer.
I'll be sure to ask for all my future visits to the boutiques! But since these are new releases on waiting lists, probably no discount if i have to guess.

Yeah all of the new Ceramic/Ceratanium watches have at least a 12 month wait list. It's unfortunate but on a positive note, it's a "guaranteed" wait list. You getting it?
@@WatchYourFront_ i was told there is limited production 2000-3000 per yr for this ceramic watch...dont think we can get it within a yr..anyway...if longer waiting list, i will probably got for other model / brand...
