Really excellent and insightful interview that helps explain the brand shift. Appreciate the difficult but important final question as well!Kudos also to the camera person for capturing the “dynamic” jumps around the set.
He’s always struck me as one of the most genuine watch CEOs and truly understands what it means to be a watch enthusiast. I have a real soft spot for IWC. I love what they are doing with ceramics. Picked up the new Pilot Performance Mercedes-AMG in Ceratanium recently. It is AMAZING. Likely going to add a Top Gun Lake Tahoe next.
Wonderful natural and entertaining conversation - love the passion, the history, innovation and engineering mastery. IWC showing the competition a clean pair of heels. These are amazing pieces and that stand is totally outstanding! Man, I could nerd out at that stand for hours. Many thanks for bringing this to us.
What an awesome experience to get the full guided tour from Chris! Much respect for him making the time to share his “baby” with us. His pride and enthusiasm are fantastic.
Ok, so definitely the best watch interview on the platform and perhaps one of the top five watch videos on RUclips… Moment, Story, Brand, Setting - all there. Really really well done guys. Thanks for sharing. Picking up my new Pilot 41 next month and can’t wait.
Awesome run through. I've been looking for IWC coverage all week and this is amazing!! Thank you. A request for IWC, Big Pilots in Lake Tahoe (Ceramic) and Ceratanium would be epic!!
That 41 topgun all black chrono is SICK! I recently became a big fan of IWV after walking in a boutique. Beautiful beautiful watches and the staff are really friendlyz This brand really resonate with me, but just the watches, but aldo the people (including this CEO’s casual attitude) and the type of people who wear IWC. Love it
Really good interview one of best from watch and wonders Chris is probably the best watch CEO knows his business and is always ready for a chat or a interview.

Interesting interview, but that 7750 based, white IWC with the (cost cutting) metal pushers looks like a 3D printed prototype compared with something like the Omega Speedmaster Dark Side of the Moon/ Grey Sade / White Side…
Personally I prefer the Tahoe to the DSOTM as IWC hasn't gone route of super shiny ceramic, which to me looks plasticky. Perhaps check it out before casting judgment, build quality of IWC is not usually a critique, and I was impressed - Andrew
I am speaking specifically about the white version you have shown in the video. There is a nice IWC boutique in the city where I live. I have seen some of the later versions. IMHO they are: A: very beautiful B: destroyed by the cost cutting measures Unter cost cutting I mean: 1: using an 7750 based movements that is much higher than a lot of the modern movements. 2: using standard 7750 day date window to close to the center of the dial (better suitable for 40mm cases) 3: not finishing the case 4: using metal crown instead of matching ceramic one 5 using metal pushers instead of matching ceramic pushers This is the reason I prefer the Omega DSOF/GSOM/WSOM wich has similar price and offers a modern movement, matching ceramic crown and pushers and very well finished ceramic case. I am a big fan of the IWC design and will be very happy if they start to offer a matching level of engineering! Thanks for the great content!
Where are the Portofinos, the Portugiesers, the Auquatimers, and especially the Ingenieur? If the brand new version of IWC is about engineering, surely the Ingenieur has a place? The impression the video gives me is that IWC is all about marketing and branding, not watches.
The white one it's amazing!!! My question is : are we not going into a direction where becomes too easy for anyone to copy? Coloured dials, cases, blink blink.. Or plain pure plain as Cartier last year.. Too easy for any Chinese eating rice outside his factory, to copy and past..
Sorry IWC stands for I Want Crap. No such thing as creativity. Do you remember the Mojave watch? The CEO spends $$$ on signing brand ambassadors vs. creativity and development. You have Big Pilot, Bigger Pilot, Biggest Pilot, etc. Bunch of crap. Hope this company goes to the dust bin of history.
This is the greatest watch CEO interview I've seen. A real no BS high horology conversation for those who don't enjoy watch snobbery.
You are so welcome - wow 🙏🏻

Great video. Used to own an IWC and now quite interested again..
Great interview buddy. And Chris is probably the coolest CEO in the world right now.
I attended the IWC Top Gun Roadshow in San Diego. Impressive. Love the brand and as a pilot I appreciate the history and quality of the watch.

This Was A Great Series; To Look Through; And I Look Forward To Joining The Club!!!!
Really enjoyed this interview and this sort of modern-industrial design theme of IWC. A lot more classy than turquoise or mustard dials, to my eyes 😉
Haha well said 👌🏻
That Is Exquisite and Brilliante; He Is An Architect!
Mate! Asking the tough questions, great interview.

White Ceramic Top Gun is one of the best looking watch I have ever seen!!! I need to get one!
There is something so delightfully German about the CEO showing him the mineral extraction and formation process of Serotoninium from mining to watch.
Excellent reporting on what IWC are doing! And I love what they are doing!! 🎥🎙👨🏻⌚️👏
fantastic ! Chris is in the rite place a good ambassador for IWC i can feel the change in my pocket rattling away. pilot watches are lovely indeed. 🤑
Fantastic watch, great interview
I like this dude...he seems to be on the right track!
IWC is now one of my future goals.
great interview
Enjoyed the conversation.
Really good interview one of best from watch and wonders Chris is probably the best watch CEO knows his business and is always ready for a chat or a interview.
He is all that - really opens his arms to digital media 👍🏻
Brilliant interview
Super interesting, well done Andrew!

Any word on the Top Gun 41 on full ceratanium bracelet? I loved it when I saw it on this video... but 6 months later and still don't see it available.
Why can't I find any media or links to price regarding the 41 Chronograph with the ceratanium bracelet? Only with the black strap...?
I think they never released that configuration. Must have been a prototype.
Great video - merging watches and a bit of the cultural design zeitgeist.
Great vid congratulations
I would start with a: "Mr Grainger-Herr, nice to have a chat with you, where the F**K is the ingenieur?" hahaha
On the cutting room floor 😂
He Mentions Hans Zimmer; "Hans Zimmer and Christophe Grainger-Herr; E-Rapture Me; E-Rapture Us; Into Your Aesthetiques;
Well done Andrew - would IWC consider an Airline partnership / branding similar to the RAAF?
IWC killing it…
🔪
@2:02 I looked up "goose step" does this mean he's saying that IWC has an "unthinking conformity to" colored ceramic this year?
Goose step is kind of an Australian sports reference. It means a quick and unexpected pivot

Chris is wound pretty tight. Great exhibit.
I Believe That They Have The Medical Science Aesthetique; In Order To Improve "The Male Knuckles!"
Hans Zimmer for the win.
Love the white one
1% for the planet!More for the planet☆

still using ETA 7750?
It’s likely to be the IWC calibre 69380 in-house manufacture.
It’s the IWC 69385 like in the other 41mm chronos
I love your sneakers mate
What is it? Looks like Air Force one.
The white one it's amazing!!! My question is : are we not going into a direction where becomes too easy for anyone to copy? Coloured dials, cases, blink blink.. Or plain pure plain as Cartier last year.. Too easy for any Chinese eating rice outside his factory, to copy and past..
Beautiful watche, but waaaaay too big, the size didn't do any service, if it take came in a 39 or 40m size that would have been the sweet spot
Well, no. This is not the watch I want to walk around with. It makes a statement_ "I am a ham!". I am not a ham.
A ham watch? No, this is a storm trooper for the wrist that says 'I'm the shit' - Andrew
Terrible idea. IWC not ICE
Wayyyyyy too big of a watch
Ceratanium is a scam.. sht
White watch is ugly as hell.
You should think about producing a smartwatch so that no one will buy these watches in a few years
