You've just called me out in 100 languages, because my photo gallery is just filled with screenshots of pretty much anything I found interesting and wanted to keep it as a reference for later, which I end up forgetting some of them exist 😂

I don’t have any “professional” things to do digital art on, but I do have Ms Paint sooooo.
Yeah drawing with a mouse actually wasn’t that hard for me, yay.
You can actually do some really nice stuff in ms paint if you choose a style that works well for it :3 you can also probably do pixel art!
I really like watching this "art style journey kinda thing" videos cus it makes me think about how mine was... and this is kinda the first one I've seen I kinda identify with. Rn I feel I have kinda an art style but I notice it varies whenever I do portraits or if I am referencing or not, like if I'm drawing fanart I try to not reference cus I end up trying to copy the style, but if I reference just like in another tab I don't, so then I just look at like clothing details, and when I'm referencing actual rl people I kinda step back and go a bit more realistic.
For me, I think what helped the most was genderbending characters, cus I had to figure features in like "the opposite" way, and I focused on personality and how to show that instead of how the actual character looks like in the show.
This video is a theatrical masterpiece and it is the best thing that has every grazed my eyeballs

I struggled with this for my whole 5th grade year, i could never decide how I should draw because I thought realism was the best one out there. I am in 6th grade now and I draw surrealistic and cartoony and I am proud 😄
If you ever have art block just go make movies, you have a natural talent for it.

I love that you have CrankGamePlays vibes at times but only if Ethan had the slightest sense of chill about anything. Also this video was much needed rn. I've been really iffy about drawing bc I've not developed a particular style yet. I want to start doing commissions but bc I haven't drawn, I have nothing to show people like "hey, here's what I can do." So, thank you for inspiring me to sit down and draw along to your videos.
My digital art style is finally kind of figuring out what it wants to be, but this made me realize I have such a long way to go. This was super motivating, but the beginning made me CACKLE OMG

I actually started finding my art style by using references of actual people, some of my favorite shows/animes/mangas....and this account lmao. Using references of actual people actually made me translate a person's features in a stylized way that yes, took me a while to figure out what I liked, but ended up giving me a part of my art style! I used my favorite animes/ mangas to figure out how I wanted the lines too look and tbh...I actually think my drawings drawn style looks good. It's a very satisfying feeling.

I absolutely feel you, it's so hard to make videos in college but I've taken the attitude of just putting out good stuff whenever I can. It's helped a lot to take the pressure off and it's make the process of doing the RUclips thing a lot more fun :3

I dont know if some people are like this too, but I find it SO HARD to find time for art while I am still in college and taking a major that has nothing to do with art 😭, I love my major and I'm willing to continue but I also want to improve my art and have it as a side job in the future too, but its so hard to find time 😭

I find it super difficult too! The first few semesters of my major I felt like I didn't draw at all, but I was able to get back into it during lockdown and I'm able to have a little bit more time for art now since this is my last semester :3 I find that as you near the end of a degree you have a little more time on your hands so hopefully you'll have more opportunities to draw in the future!

This is so helpful! I’m a young artist who wants to make money off my art and I really like anime and cartoony shows so it always ends up looking like either one. I always wanted a style of both that and a bit of realism in it. Knowing these tips will sure help. This is an amazing video!

So much emotion at the beginning. I feel like that about my people drawings... I used to be able to create so many characters off the top of my head and draw them fairly well. I stopped drawing because of my family. But I am back and trying again. Videos like yours help me to keep going. Thank you for sharing this. I will keep working and trying.

Lol the beginning is hilarious!🤣 I'm so happy for you.❤ I recently found mine too. mine is the complete opposite of what you were saying that you didn't like in your art style. I actually found that I like very very sharp edges and a Pacific type of eyes. Though it depends on my character because I like using shape language. Some of my oc's will be super round and others will be super square or triangle shaped. It sometimes is hard because I have an anime art style.

I've actually definitely embraced the sharper and boxier aspects of my art style and I really like them now! I also love shape language, although it is harder for me to use with a more semi-realistic art style. I think I'm slowly improving at it though! Anime art styles can be so fun to mess around with since there is so much subtle variation!
