Honestly, I can't relate to having unfinished sketchbooks because I had 15 finished sketchbooks and 3 freshly started ones, but my shit got burned down in April or early may. Anyways, if anyone is having problems with finishing sketchbooks, try drawing objects in your room or around your room, draw characters from your fandoms, or outfits you find online. Even if they don't look good, practice makes perfect and it's better than nothing.

If it makes you feel any better, I’ve been trying to draw cartoon-y for years and feel like I wasted time because I never heeded art advice to learn the basics, aka realism and figure drawing and whatnot first. Cool thing is! I’ve started learning the “art rules” and I’m already seeing an improvement in my cartoonier stuff (still not happy with it, but whatever). What I’m saying is, you’ve learnt the rules, so now you can use your imagination and determination to break them and create your own style! You’ve got this👍🏻
I have never drawn a realistic drawing in my entire life. I physically can’t do it lmao. All I can do now is apply real life anatomy to my stylized art and hope for the best
I find your old drawings amazing and even though you didn't finish them at least you practiced things such as guys and poses( PS love your character designs). I have been drawing for sixteen out of 21 years and I still have trouble with dynamic poses, I cant keep them in proportion and my guys still need a lot of work.(For a long time I hadn't been practicing as much as i need to. I didn't really start practicing this stuff until I had entered high school) I own 29 sketchbooks and I have only completed 8 of them( 3 of which are homemade and 4 of them were for monthly challenges. 7 others are blank and finally the last 14 are incomplete sketchbooks. 2 of which are my current sketchbooks that i have been working on for three years. Yay I'm really really slow. SORRY ABOUT HOW LONG AND WORDY IT IS.
Something I find useful for my old unfinished sketchbooks is to go back in when I have art block and just mess around in the blank spots and pages just slowly crushing a whole lot of awful drawings into them. No matter how bad my artblock is it’s still better than half the stuff in those old books.

Recently I went through and cut all the pages out of my un-finished sketchbooks from when I was younger and put them in those see through sheets in a binder, and put the pages where I didn’t draw on the back 2 to a sheet so the blanks are hidden against each other. I cut out all the tiny drawings where the rest of the page is blank and stuck them to other pages to fill white space, and now it a much more cohesive binder of progress when I was younger, and it really made me feel good so I recommend it to anyone who’s really bothered by their old sketch books.
Im not sure how i feel on this new video format yet kinda lags on for a bit too long i think b4 we see the sketchbook stuff , that first one reminds me of some of my oldee sketchbooks but more filled, the third sketch book is probably my favorite, so many cool doodles!

Don't feel bad about your sketchbooks, that's what they are for! To doodle, leave things unfinished and be lazy. That's why they're called sketchbook, a sketch isn't a finished piece :) If there's a place to do whatever, it's a sketchbook. It's only now starting to be kind of competitive to make it look super aesthetic so you can show off online. You don't have to give in to that if you don't want to. Don't feel pressured to make everything look great until it ruins your fun...
It also helps to improve art honestly! Pen is permanent so it helps me to be more intentional with my lines and actually try to get the anatomy right on the first try! xD
