Iam just starting on my journey. I just retired. Definitely more family time. Not wanting to leave things i dont need for my family to have to get rid of. Love simplicity.

My husband is deployed so we’ve both had a long time to think. I’m a sahm of two boys ( 3 and 6months old) and our daughter dog. For some reason we both started thinking about minimalism early on in deployment. Our main reason behind moving towards minimalism is wanting to have more money to put towards traveling and taking vacations with our children. I also want to spend more time with him and our kiddos instead of cleaning. Your channel has helped me SOO much within the past week. Because of you I finally got through the guilt part of getting rid of things. We are so excited for this journey. Thank you!

I'm far from being a minimalist, but it is a mindset that I love and am working towards. We moved across the country 2 1/2 months ago and spent 2 of those months in temporary housing, going from a 2,400 sqft home to a small apartment. I realized that there was so much of my stuff that I didn't miss. I also realized that my actions didn't reflect the things I said I valued. So, I'm here! Minimalism is the means to free my space and my mind to make more room for the people I love and activities that bring me joy!

I am just sick of all the junk around me. I have gotten rid of a lot and need to get rid of a lot more! My stuff doesn’t all have a place. If I ever get to that point I may feel like I have “arrived” lol.

My main why is to leave a smaller footprint on the earth. I am not so fussed on clutter or the minimalist aesthetic but I want to establish lasting change in my behaviours around shopping and consumption.

I’m 5 months in, taking it slow, because I want to develop habits that will stick. I am celebrating the fact that my bedroom is always tidy now, clothes put away, no trash, minimal clutter. Feels so good 😊
The kitchen is much better thanks to organising tips from Clutterbug. And the lounge is pretty good most of the time.
These things are groundbreaking for me. And I’ve seen the difference because I’ve just been through a couple of stressful weeks with work and I have been so much calmer. I do think this is because I’m a lot more organised at home, and I have less things.
The next sixth months will be working on my home office, sewing area and garage storage. These spaces are still completely overwhelming to me (I’m a wildly creative person and many art installations for festivals). Still, my current success gives me hope for me future successes.
One major ‘why’ is the last time we moved it was a ridiculous amount of hauling stuff we didn’t need to. In New Zealand our rental leases are only for 1 year, so we could be asked to move in 7 months. I do not want to move so much stuff again!

I recently came across your channel and WOW! I am so happy to have found you! I want to pursue minimalism because I don't want my "things" to weigh me down. I want to have the time and money to be free to travel with my family. I want to be able to continue to work a 30-hour work week so I can be home with my kids after they are done with school for the day. I don't want to be beholden to my things. I want to see empty spaces. I want to live fully in a smaller house and live debt free. Those are all my "whys" of minimalism. Thank you for your thoughtful videos.

For me minimalism is the mind set that experience matters more than stuff. It’s about empowerment that I am not defined by materialism and my self worth isn’t attached to that. It’s living with more intention and not participating in the overconsumption destroying the planet. Lastly, it’s about living in a state of abundance rather than lack. I have enough stuff..so what’s next? What experiences do I want to have? How do I want to be a producer rather than a constant consumer?

I’m a stay at home mama with 3 children under 5. Minimalism really helps me to be calm, and not feel overstimulated. Then, I am able to slow down, and focus on what matters, and care for my children more intentionally 🙂

My reasons for minimalism are: 1. more time with my family and friends. 2. more time to read. 3. more time to write letters to friends abroad.
Bonus point - minimalism really helped me move house. It was quick to pack and to unpack too. Plus it was less stressful too. I love minimalism.

I am starting the journey with a house of 5 family members and I'm the only one who I think will be active. What we've already done for a while is that the kids are going through their stuff and we do declutter time to time in their room. But even if not everyone in my family agree to approach the minimalism lifestyle, I know I can take control on several areas in our life/home and that's where I will start. My why for doing this is because I need to be more mindful with shopping, where my money goes and stop spend money on things that doesn't serve me or my family on the long run. Also be able to pay off a dept I have and live more intentional.

I started by decluttering my clothes and stuff in my house in general. I know I am not a minimalist but I already feel better than before just by knowing exactly what I own!! I get emotional too while decluttering! Very nice video as always, thank you!!🐱🌷🌷

Gosh, your home is so beautiful. So light and airy and fresh, yet it has all those beautiful, older home architectural details. That dining room - 😍. I love that you play the violin! I do too, although also not nearly as much as I should ( even though minimalism has given me more time to do so!)
