[4K] Reading & Northern 2102 Hauling a Coal Train!

- The event of the year! (so far!) Recently-restored Reading & Northern T-1 4-8-4 #2102 returned to the rails on April 26th, 2022 to haul a consist of 50 empty coal cars plus a caboose to simulate a passenger consist as a test run for the upcoming Iron Horse Rambles excursions. RBMN CEO Andy Muller was at the throttle to bring 2102 from North Reading to Jim Thorpe and return. Eastern Railfan Productions was onsite to witness this historic event, beginning at Leesport and ending in Nesquehoning on the first leg, then reversing course to as far as Tamaqua for the return trip. This will be the first of many visits as we will be taking part in these future excursions throughout the year! As a bonus, we caught Port Clinton-Tamaqua manifest PNQA at New Ringgold with a GP38-2 - GP39RN - SD40-2 power set leading mixed freight and...more coal cars!

The man on this test run was Chairman, Owner, and CEO Andy Muller Jr. at the throttle. He was very happy to be back at it once again.
Andy is reliving his childhood. He saw the Rambles as a kid with his Father @ Hamburg and Port Clinton. Only again he owns it still and the Railroad that once was Readings.
Brings back fond memories of 2101 on the Freedom Train in 1975, through central Illinois, of which i have super 8 movies of! The echo of the whistle........love it!! The caboose..........love it just as much!! Makes this 71 year old geezer want more!!

Why was 2102 with 425AT at the beginning?
Yeah, I'm been wondering the same thing since I saw a vid of it earlier today on Facebook
I thought at first they would use it on this test run to see if they needed it to make Jim Thorpe, but clearly they didn’t. I’m wondering if they plan to use it for the excursions eventually.
@@EasternRailfanProductions Well judging by the fact that 2102 is several times bigger than 425 than maybe not but it might end up being used on occasion, we'll just have to wait and see.
