This was our generation’s “Schuylkill Shifter”. You did an outstanding job capturing history yesterday, Ethan! Well done, laddie!
I remember mark one videos film pm the shifter from when I was a kid
She looks and sounds amazing! Wonderful production Ethan!!
Man, they sure have painted that locomotive real nice, nice vid!
What a beauty, no matter what they have said.
I will be catching it Saturday at Rauchs and New Ringold PA pretty excited
Beautiful video Ethan, thanks for sharing your talents with us! Really appreciate all your work! 👍💪
Awesome video of the T-1! She handles that load with ease!
This makes me even more excited to ride it in May.
Wow does 2102 look and sound great!
Another great video Brodie!
Thanks for sharing it!
I wonder if they’re going to put her Reading six chime
Probably May 28th on her first excursion. She usually carries two whistles her original Reading Freight hooter and a passenger chime
I thought the video froze for the first 50 seconds, lol.
That's an interesting British accent. An American locomotive with a whistle that sounds like a Bulleid Pacific with deeper tone.
😱
29:38 where did they wye her?
Haucks
The hell kind of whistle is that!? If they ever make a movie about a ghost train, that's exactly the kind of whistle I'd expect to hear.
It's a Reading freight hooter I think. It might be 2102's original whistle.
Am I the only one to find that whistle somewhat creepy?
why did they restore her?
Mainly because 425 is soon due for a 1472 overhaul and they wouldn’t have an operational steam locomotive so they restored 2102 plus 2102 would just sit if she wasn’t.
@@Kh06918 I assume 425 is a diesel locomotive?
@@filipinowhiteboy no she is a 1928 Baldwin pacific
@@Kh06918 Really? huh....I didn't think the US used steam trains for anything other than tourism anymore.
@@filipinowhiteboy there are some short lines like the Everett railroad in Hollidaysburg Pa that use steam locomotives for revenue freight service. They once in a while pull freight with there alco 2-6-0 for small freight trains but use it mostly for tourists. But your statement is correct we don’t use steam locomotives much any more
